Probably insane that as somebody who had their car towed this week I'm leaving a five-star review, but they deserve it . While I was at Nitro Circus last night myself and 20 other cars were towed to the tow yard. I was there with my 12 year old son. The one sign they have is practically on the ground and hard to find. The charge was 429 dollars and being in the car business that is gross price gouging. Next time I'll go on an Easter egg hunt to look for signs before I park. These guys are evil. Not because they are a towing company, and of course nobody likes their car being towed, but because they take particular joy in towing people involuntarily. I understand that he probably has a lot of tough situations that he has to deal with, but when I came to find my car had been towed, and coincidentally was able to speak with the driver in utter confusion, he he showed absolutely zero empathy and was very unhelpful. Then, when I got to their place of business to get my car out of impound, the office receptionist or whatever she is went into great detail to one of the drivers on how entertained she was at the rage someone exhibited when coming to the office earlier that day. Her conversation went almost Word for Word " yeah, we had a live one in earlier today, oh buddy! I was like let me get my popcorn." All said with a gleeful tone, well, with an obvious earshot of myself and another unhappy person waiting to be served in the lobby. They charged me over $400. I was dropping something off at a family member's house and was in the house for less than 10 minutes and came out to find my car gone. I had two tires partially in the street. no warning no courtesy knock. in fact, the speed at which they hooked up my car and drove off, shows that this was simply to get money. for a series of months, they roved my neighborhood during certain hours looking for cars they could tow. despicable people. read more

I filed this complaint for my wife with the Nevada Transportation Authority for illegal towing: " I live in Reno NV 89509 with a private car. My mom's classic car, 2000 Chrysler Sebring convertible was towed out of my personal parking lot. I couldn't get it registered because it needs an alternator and have a Non-op with the DMV. I was pop saving money to get it fixed. Now Milne Towing service says I owe $1600 for storage and towing and if they auction my car, I will be put in collections for the balance owed. HOA never gave me a notice nor did Milen and now they have had my car since November 13th. This is the only thing I have left since my mom passed a few years ago. In the past I have spent all my money to keep it running. This vehicle is a very sentimental and treasured item to me. Milne Towing has incredibly predatory business practices. The tow trucks themselves patrol their "owned" parking spaces and have the ability to tow an unauthorized parked vehicle in 15 minutes. The response time is incredible, the customer service is terrible. Shayne Watson lied to me about how long my vehicle was parked their and about the reason for their attempted Towing of my vehicle. They will charge you $182 if they see your vehicle, and will continue to attempt to tow it if you arrive on-site to move your vehicle. read more

BE CAREFUL WITH MILNE! Check other reviews before using this tow company. This towing company prays on apartment complexes to tow people and then charge them large amounts of money to get their car from their lot. Be careful if your car does get towed by them to get it out ASAP. They will charge daily storage fees and at some point start the paperwork process for them to legally own your vehicle. They had seen our vehicle numerous times in a handicap spot and one night we forgot to put it up and we were towed and charged $350 right before the holidays. Horrible and unprofessional, My car was in an accident and park on an area with permission and they came it was park in a red curb, the area that was park on is probably a full car length away for the curb. I was in a sticky situation trying to have my son's car towed to my house before it got impounded but he was not able to be there to approve it. They were the ONLY tow company, or any other company that was even willing to work with me at all. Not only did Justine go above and beyond to try and help me get the car picked up, but she also continued to help me even after we were able to set other arrangements to make sure it all worked out. They are all about helping someone even if they don't get the cash for it, evidence by the fact that they were recommended by a competitor that was unable to help me. I would give this a NO Star if possible. My son used my truck to help his girlfriend move. There was absolutely NO available parking spaces near her apartment which was in the back and upstairs. He was moving some heavy items and had no choice but to park in front of her apartment in a red zone. He turned the hazards on the truck - the hazards were quite visible since it was 9:30 PM. He moved a few other items and then moved the last heavy item and came out only to find the truck had been towed. COST was $250.00 to tow the truck a total of THREE Miles!!! YES, I understand you are not supposed to park in a red zone, but there was no other option. And, he was not inside the apartment more than a few minutes at a time. Funny, there was a car that had been parked in a handicap spot with no placard or handicap plate for two days and it was still there! They towed my car illegally. They are the WORST service ever and don't clearly understand Nevada Law. My car was parked on a curb, not a red curb, I wasn't blocking any garage or parking spot, literally tucked away from everyone (I have videos). I was there simply for an hour to visit family and they decided to just ruin a fun night. No warning, no ticket, NO SIGN EVEN to let me know it was them, it cost me 300$ to pick up my car that wasn't even in the way of anything or anyone, my car has damage from the tow (documented) and I DID NOT RECEIVE ANY PAPER WORK REGARDING THIS. This is an unethical and dishonest towing company. My vehicle was parked in a handicapped spot in front of a restaurant with the handicapped placard clipped to the driver's visor. It was visible, but it was not hanging from the rear view mirror. When I walked out, my car had been moved from its spot to the street where the tow driver was completing the hook up. He claimed to have received a call from the restaurant about the car being parked without a placard. The restaurant manager disputed this claim. He later claimed that someone complained about it and they were contracted with the neighboring apartment building for removal unauthorized or illegally parked vehicles. First thing, the car was legally parked (no fire lanes, no blocked routes, etc.). Secondly, although the business shared a parking lot with the apartment complex, there is a sign posted in the middle of the parking lot which identifies where their parking area ends. My car was not parked in this area. The driver was belligerent and threatening to spray us with bear mace when we would not let him leave before the police arrived on the scene. When the police arrived, he showed him a picture that showed no placard. I informed the officer that the placard was on the driver's visor, and that the picture conveniently did not show the visor. The officer asked to see the rest of the pictures and was able to see that a plastic tag was on the visor, but do to the angle of the pictures, he could not get a clear picture of it and the placard had been moved after the picture. Since the car was already moved onto the street, there was nothing he could do. He did ask the tow driver to consider charging a drop fee and even asked his supervisor to ask the driver, but he steadfastly refused, probably because of the extra fees he would get taking it to the tow yard. The officer did identify that they have a love/hate relation with this company as they deal with a lot of borderline situations with them. Needless to say, we had to follow him to the tow yard and pay a $330 ransom to get our car back even though they were not authorized to tow the vehicle. They may be under contract with the apartment complex sharing the parking lot, but the car was parked on the side of the lot outside of their jurisdiction (about 150 feet from the posted signage). Their is no recourse other than to pay the fee, otherwise, they will charge a daily fee and then auction off your vehicle after 2 weeks. read more

I almost had my work truck towed from in front of my house by this company who was subcontracted under a road repair company who was in turn contracted by the City of Sparks. They had my truck hooked up and lifted off the ground by 6:50. My photo will show that it is put down by 6:53 after I asked them to drop the vehicle with barely contained frustration reminding them that the construction fliers and cones all stated a 7:00 time to have vehicles off the street. I would have been off the street by 6:55 (my routine). The first call went to Milne and got at least courteous help from the lady on the phone. I was promised a call back from a supervisor. 1-1/2 hours later I had to call back and was connected to a supervisor, who made the query, "What's the big deal that we started 10 minutes early?"... Further exchanges must have indicated my resolve to not excuse the unprofessional behavior. And the call was ended by the male supervisor, "You were smart enough to figure out what number to call to complain. You would also have figured it out to call to find out where the vehicle was towed to." - followed by the line going dead! I called the City of Sparks number and was actually connected to the person in charge of the road improvement project. He assured me that my described situation "was a violation of contract". After cooling off some more I called Milne again seeking to skip to speaking with the owner. I instead got a female supervisor who knew of my situation and "didn't know how many more times to apologize" to me. I was at this point concerned about the dismissive and insulting statement left by the previous supervisor before unexpectedly disconnecting the call. She at least seemed surprised and sincerely apologetic, but then to my dismay took the same tack as the previous supervisor, and suggested that it was not a big deal that they started early and that she wished to speak with my boss(?!). Because I should understand that sometimes work needs to start earlier than scheduled. She also stated that early hook up of vehicles wouldn't happen unless authorized by the road construction company. She seemed surprised when I ended the call informing her that I had already spoken with the City of Sparks personnel and was assured that this stance was a breach of contract. My next call was to the road construction company (very nice people) who were able to connect me to the foreman on site on my street. He was equally surprised and apologetic of my experience.
