We moved to Milton about 3 1/2 yrs ago, we are alway on the prowl for excellent Chinese food. We tried the Wok about 3 1/2 yrs ago and got maybe 5 or 6 items alacarte for 4 people. All of the food was inedible and covered in some kind of thick batter disguising whatever meat or veg etc. **** We recently called and asked if they made chop suey like we used to get from neighborhood restaurants in Portland, light oyster sauce & lightly stir fried veggies along with the crispy dry noodles on the side. It was exactly like we wanted. We ordered their Pork Chow Mein, they said it was slightly different than the Chop Suey but pretty much the same. We couldn't tell the difference, the vegetables were lightly stir fried with a bit of a crunch left in them and tossed in lightest yet tasty oyster sauce gravy - we were so happy with this order we tried it again tonight! Food is less than mediocre at best. I've been wanting to be honest about this crap food for a while. Problem? When a tastebud dead boomer buys dinner, you really can't complain . Sweet & sour is meh. General Taos is less than meh. Fried rice is dry, like maybe made 1x a day and old or held in a hot food holder too long. Ordered "Beef & Noodles". Got a soup container with waterlogged noodles, tasteless puffy beef and soup base tastes like low-sodium beef broth-generic at that. I've tried several dishes thinking it might be just one or two things. But, unfortunately, it's everything I've ordered. Have not tried the chowmein. *the fried chicken wings app is not bad*. I literally cringe now when they want to order Chinese for dinner. I'm sure this restaurant may have been great years ago or when it first opened, but like The Poodle Dog in Fife, it's seen better days. Basically, this is less a restaurant and more a bar that serves food. Lunch was more than affordable - $12 for a sizable quantity of rice, noodles, veg, and chicken - but the overall quality was very average and typical of what America once thought Chinese food was supposed to be. Ugh, I hate leaving 1 star as we typically love this place....I guess we actually only love it if we dine in. I've honestly thought about disputing the 50$ I paid last night for the 10$ worth of soggy, oily, nasty food we received. My wonton soup was a container with veggies and soggy disgusting "wontons," that were inedible. And our number 4 dinner had 6 bites of sweet and sour pork. I wish I was kidding. The chow mein was so oily you could have swam around in the bottom of the container and went sun bathing. It was also maybe 1/2 cup of noodles and that's me being generous. For almost 20$ for a dinner, I would expect one to be at least satisfied with it, however that was definitely not the case. Idk if we will return after last night. 2 stars because they were opened on Christmas Eve - other than that NO ! - probably the worse Chinese food I've ever had . They may be getting away with it as this neighborhood has no other Asian cuisine options - even the local teriyaki spot is terrible (review for that too) . TERRIBLE AND OVER PRICED. Also they stated it would be ready in 15 mins - with it being a holiday I gave more grace time , came in after 35 minutes of waiting , got there was seen by staff and still waited another 30mins just for them to ask what I'm coming in for !! The clue should have been an empty lot and empty restaurant, but since I had been here before, thought I would check in. This once busy restaurant is no longer a restaurant, it's a bar that serves food. The food was not good and my favorite part was going up front to tell our server there was an issue with our food, at that time, I saw what appeared to be a regular in the kitchen sampling food. I don't know where all the Asian people went, but there used to be good Chinese food in every city, now I can't rely on a single place in the county to serve an amazing meal. The reviews that say it's a bar that sells food are extremely accurate. I ordered the orange chicken to-go and don't normally take a look at the dish before leaving but just had a gut feeling and boy was I lucky. I've never seen anything like it. I ordered here from UberEats and like how most people mentioned, the food here is absolutely disgusting. It tastes microwaved or fried in old oil. The BBQ pork has the nasty freezer burn taste. The fortune cookie was not in a wrapper so I do not even bother eating it. They included a tea bag but it was not even in plastic. The sweet and sour sauce had this strong ketchup taste and smell, gross. I had a terrible stomachache the next day. DO NOT EAT HERE! I ordered almond chicken. When it got here it was pretty much meatless drumsticks, all skin covered in a gross gravy. I called, they said "that's how we make it and it had crunched up almonds on top". They wouldn't even give me managements info to talk to them on a weekday. Pot stickers and sauce is very flavorful together and balance each other. The pork fried rice is definitely better than most fried rice meals I've had in the area. Sweet and sour chicken is chopped breast form versus nuggets so I like that you can taste the chicken itself. Egg rolls are OK but I probably would order again, the cabbage in the rolls were a coarse cut and I'd like to see more protein in the egg roll itself. Dear owner/cook, please help your poor bartender out and hire some help. She's stressed and let me and my mother in law know it. We should have just left but ma is 80 and was hungry. I was shocked when an order came out so soon after we had ordered. I knew something was wrong, the bartender put that order on another table, walked away, was called back immediately and informed by that other table, this is not what we ordered. She went back picked it up looked at it then said to us I think I messed up and this is your order. It wasn't, part of the order was right but she had already put it down on the table and I heard silverware clatter. I told the bartender that that was not acceptable and that we were leaving. She was upset, I told it's not your fault, tell the owner to hire you some help. My mother in law was all ready to dig in, I told her mom that foods not acceptable it's been on another table. Did I mention she's 80? Sand blows her nose at the table during every meal at the table? We've got two dogs and three cats, I'm a huge fan of the 10 second rule! As long as the dog doesn't get it first! I told the bartender we'll be back as the food is pretty good for the Americanized style of food, but will call first to make sure they have enough staff. OMG...!!! We moved up to this area a little less than a year ago, and have been on the hunt for a really good Asian restaurant ever since. We found it! The food at Milton Wok is AMAZING, and at really good prices. I had the potstickers and Chicken Chow Mein. The potstickers are lightly crispy, generously filled, and come 10 to an order for $12. They're super tasty on their own, but they come with a wicked good dipping sauce that's a bit hard to describe. It's a little sweet, has a nice kick, is a little fruity, a little tart, and has the consistency of soy sauce. Whatever is in it is delicious! The Chow Mein portion is HUGE for $15. It's not overloaded with a dozen different veggies, just the basics of cabbage, carrot, onion, and celery. Personally, I think less is more. It doesn't have to have everything but the kitchen sink to be special. The chicken pieces are big and tender, and they don't skimp on them. The noodles are perfect, and the sauce is incredible. I had my order by take-out, and the container was filled to the rafters. It practically spilled over the sides when I opened the lid! I wasn't there, so I can't speak for the staff or the facility, but my BFF and her hubby were very impressed so it must've been really nice. Christmas Day 2021 Milton Wok saved the holiday. They were B-U-S-Y, guy who took the order almost sounded reluctant to keep taking my order...$125 order confirmed, Hubbs picked it up and aside from the road conditions, the 30 minute RT drive; he was home in under an hour with our feast! Packed with care, sauces separate, everything we ordered made it home. It took a while to set the table & take inventory & when we served, steam was still wafting out of boxes of shrimp fried rice, curry rice, Hunan beef, pork fried rice, wonton soup, chicken wings, egg rolls, chow mein...generous amount of fortune cookies, about 8 and condiments. Everyone was satisfied with their selections and plenty for all to share. Leftovers warmed nicely the next day. It was a Christmas Miracle! Milton Wok impressed these 1st time customers! Workers don't even know what's on their own menu, order that came with white rice. Which we did not receive, when we called the woman worker tried to argue that it didn't. Among that had to have our meals remade twice, due to the male worker giving our food to someone. In no way were they kind whatsoever. We have very serious peanut allergies (normally we never have any issues at other restaurants with this problem), in which we made sure to triple ask for the almonds to be put on the side in a separate container. Before we left they assured us that almonds were put on the side. We got home & sure enough almonds were right on top of the chicken. Called to inform them, asking to come & get it fixed.
