Wait time was pretty long for a Thursday around 1pm but the Oliver burger was really tasty- minus mayo, pickles and onions. There was some salty taste I think came from the burger but the rest was very tasty. I was super impressed how unsalted the fries were and they were cooked perfectly. Salty fries can ruin a meal and hours later you're drinking from a fire hose to manage the salty aftermath. Not these fries- they were crispy, golden, crunchy and not salty. My only issue was how long it took to get the food at 1pm on a Thursday- it was over 30 minutes. read more

I drove over 25 minutes each way from Puyallup to Edgewood to try Oliver's sandwiches. I made sure to check the hours online, and it stated it was open! After arriving, the restaurant was closed and there was a sign on the door stating the restaurant would be closed July 26th through August 29th (seen below). Which would be no problem at all, except today is July 6th (20 days prior to advertised closing day) and the website says open! Please update the website so as to not waste peoples time! read more

Was driving to visit my son and thought "ohhhh gotta stop at that great sandwich place again". Glad I did, got the Rocket and it was my bad for not inquiring what the horsey sauce was, but now I know it is horseradish sauce and it is not my favorite. We decided to order from Door dash, the app said an hour which was fine with us. However, the driver waited for almost 90 minutes for them to make two sandwiches. Seriously. My hubs ordered the Gladiator which was huge, tons of filling and on a really thick roll. He said it was good but too much bread. I ordered a turkey, cranberry and cream cheese with tomato. Should have been amazing but there was one small slice of turkey and that was it and way too much bread for the sandwich. The taste was good, but took way too long to make, 90 minutes even on a busy evening when we ordered ahead is just wrong and I felt badly for the driver who just had to stand there. Then mine with minimal filling was disappointing. Way too much bread, they should either make the sandwiches on smaller rolls or give you an option to have bread instead. I ordered the Oliver Special sandwich and saw a few reviews mentioning too much bread on their sandwiches, so I opted for sliced wheat instead. Paired it with a cup of chili--both were solid choices! At first, I thought the sandwich was a bit sweet because of the honey mustard, but after a few bites, I realized it balanced perfectly with the onions. The chili was tasty, though I do wish the serving size was a little bigger for the price. Still, no complaints about the flavor! This place was BUSY when I went, which makes sense--it was peak lunch hour. That's always a good sign, though! I'm not sure how long this place has been here, but I am no stranger to the area. I've been to several of the restaurants on this block as well as shopped at local stores. I heard about Oliver's after doing a local sandwich search. A friend was raving about a place near Auburn, but as it turned out, the place he was recommending ended up being a different spot. That said, Oliver's had an impressive menu, prices also appeared to be reasonable and last, reviews were overwhelmingly positive. This place appeared to be family run, and the proprietor appeared to be Oliver, which is actually the name of the sandwich I selected. Now, this is where the wheels came off the cart for me. Most sandwich shops and certainly the smart ones make the sandwich with you, I like that, because if I want more tomatoes, onion or mayo, I can correct that in real time. Not here, she just asked if everything was ok and I said yes. I like a cold deli sub, so when it came toasted, I wasn't pleased. I didn't see anywhere where that was advertised, but since the place appeared to have possibly been a Quiznos at one time, I should have guessed. No complaints on the amount of toppings, but I would have asked for more mayo, had I actually seen the sandwich been made. Last, and seriously one reason I chose the Oliver, it came with sprouts, and I love sprouts on a sub, however, there wasn't a single sprout on my sandwich, and again, noting was said to explain this. I don't know if this is the case, but I was at a bagel place several years back and asked for sprouts on my sandwich and they told me the health Department banned Sprouts from sandwich shops, I think it had something to do with an E-coli outbreak. Again, this was like 7 years back, so worth case scenario, your menu should be updated, or you should advise sprouts aren't available and allow a vegie substitution. To the point, I'd chose Jersey Mikes over this any day, however if this place was in my neighborhood, I'd try them again. The menu was so rich, it's possible I would have liked another sandwich better. No problem with the people, but the sandwich didn't blow me away. I could have made a better sandwich myself after stopping at any grocers deli counter. read more

This place was recommend to us and we were excited to try it. Very disappointed on the sandwiches. I ordered the Hot Pastrami and my Husband had the Roast Beef with Au jus. First of all there was more bread then meat and the photos show it. The meat had great taste but the bread was very dry and not worth $25 for 2 -8" subs. We would rather go to Subway. I was out running errands and didn't want fast food but I wanted food fast. Lol I remember seeing Olivers when I would shop at Safeway. I looked up the reviews, liked what I saw and ventured in the establishment. It was busy but the lady that made my Turkey Bacon Avocado was very nice. Took my order and it was ready shortly afterwards. I didn't get to eat it right away but it was AMAZING. I think the honey mustard dressing just made a difference or something. These reviews are extremely misleading. I went to Oliver's today and I got an over priced sandwich + FOOD POISONING!!! Why has no one mentioned how filthy this business is ?! The walls have thick layers of dust on them, the floors haven't been mopped in who knows how long. They have some deodorizer to cover up the stench (my clothes smelt like it after being there for 10 mins). Nothing was covered on the sandwich bar. Sauces were not refrigerated, and the toppings weren't either. The trash was overflowing. Everything was sooooo filthy!!! Absolutely disgusting. They're lucky they're not in King County. The health department would shut this business down so fast. The owners/employees were so rude and do not appreciate the customer, nor the business. This review is for a delivery experience that I had today! Oliver's Sandwiches has been on my radar for a long time - not because of the stellar reviews or the mouthwatering photos... But because my son's name is Oliver. I mean, come on. It was a must try for me! Ordering for delivery was very easy and I was blown away at the selection. Such a large menu with options for everyone! I ended up wanting to try the Spicy Turkey Wrap, sans tomatoes. The food was delivered quickly and the order was correct - I can't tell you how many times I've asked for no tomatoes on something and STILL get them (gross). From first glance I could tell right away how fresh the veggies were - the romaine and avocado were perfect! So good! The spicy sauce was okay, nothing to write home about. But it did add a nice kick in conjunction with the pepperoncinis. I was expecting it to have a bit more depth to it, but it was still good. Another fact worth noting is that Oliver's Sandwiches is incredibly affordable for the quality and quantity of food that you get. Definitely a solid option for lunch or dinner. I'll definitely be giving Oliver's another try - the menu is way too impressive not to, and their grilled cheese sandwiches look out of this world.
