Requested service to our washer. The technician came, spun the barrel, and looked under the washer and made an estimate of $600 to repair it. Naturally, we decided to buy a new washer. The technician charged us $179 for the five minutes he was here. We live 13 miles from Milwaukee Appliance. I spoke to the owner, Brittany who said their flat fee for the drive is $79.95 and the diagnosis is $80. She did not think this was unreasonable and talked about how the diagnosis is applied to the cost of repairs. But if you decline repairs, you get charged anyway. A $60 charge for the five minutes would have been acceptable. But this is just a rip-off. Look for a company that doesn't add these bogus charges. read more

Our eight year old LG front loading washing machine suddenly started to sound like a jet taking off, so we called a long-time known and well established appliance repair business that used to be near our house to come and service the machine: Milwaukee Appliance. First thing, we were told that, even though they moved their space, it is the same business. On his arrival the technician, Greg, who is also now the owner of MKE Appliance, immediately diagnosed the problem as bad bearings. (By the way, Greg stated he has worked for the company more than thirty years). Greg told us that the cost of the repair would not be worth the investment and that we should get a new machine, instead. The matching LG dryer also had a few issues that needed repairing, but during the discussion, Greg offered us a new Maytag washer and dryer for a very good price and give us an additional $200.00 credit toward the new machines because he felt that, after repairing the dryer, he would be able to sell it as a used machine. While he was at the house, I checked Online pricing on the Maytag models he referred to... the top of the line models, and verified that the pricing he offered was, indeed, good pricing. Greg also sold us a warranty package for both machines; a four-year extension of the one-year warranty for $150.00 per machine. I thought this was good insurance, a better warranty price than the big box stores offer. That was Wednesday, 3/19/14. Today, Friday, 3/21/14, we are the proud owners of a brand new Maytag washer and dryer. The office contacted us early in the AM and told us when the installers would arrive; they did so, on-time. Our washing machine was slipping the spin cycle. 2 guys came out from Milwaukee Appliance. Looked at the machine for 10 minutes. Told us it was the "motherboard" (isn't it always the motherboard?) and that we needed a new machine. We paid the $119 service call bill and debated for a week. This morning I discovered that the spin cycle had simply been turned off. I turned it on and it works fine. We won't ask for our money back because we were too stupid to figure it out ourselves. I am LIVID with this company. They were installing a new washer and dryer into my grandmothers home and spilled the water from our old washer onto the floor. They left my 76 year old grandma to clean it up which resulted in her slipping and falling and breaking her arm in 3 places, knee cap, and hurting her wrist. Let's get the POSITIVE aspects of this service call out of the way first: The service person confirmed the appointment a few days beforehand and the repairman arrived on time. During the service visit, the repairman as unable to make the repair, informed my sister that she would have to order the parts that would be required to repair the freezer and provided my sister an estimate of the cost of repair that she felt was fair. He also asked to review the warranty and informed my sister that the appliance was still under the manufacturer's warranty and she should contact the manufacturer as the parts would probably be covered. BIG NEGATIVE: We are in the middle of a pandemic! Were a mask when entering customers' homes! I don't think it is too much to expect that a company would require their employees to wear a mask when entering a customer's home and take precautions to sanitize services they come in contact with. That was not the case with this repairman. My sister opened the door for the repairman and he barged into the house WITHOUT a mask on, heading toward the kitchen. I yelled at him that he had to put on a mask in this house and that my sister's health is compromised. He gave me a disgusted look, put his bags down, and pulled out a plastic bag FULL of masks, put on one, looked at me, and in a condescending tone said: "Is this okay?" Why would I need to tell him to put on a mask in the first place? WE ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF A PANDEMIC AND PEOPLE ARE DYING! It should be company policy and it should be mandatory! Secondly, MY SISTER OPENED THE DOOR WITH AN OXYGEN TUBE IN HER NOSE!! That should have prompted him to put a mask on! I bought an appliance here a couple years ago and bought the extended warranty. I've called a few times to have them come out. The service has been okay. What I've been wondering is why they continue to have on their website that they have same day or next day service?? It usually takes them a week or more to provide service at least to me. I shopped the big box stores and Toms price was better that any of the others. Then He threw in set-up and delivery, with new hoses to the washer. This puts the deal way over the top. I asked for their hourly rate and was not given a price. I think 60-90 per hr would be fair. All told I paid 170.00 for less than 1hrs work. Milwaukee Appliance, what can I say? We have just completed the purchase and delivery of our second full kitchen / appliance, this time for the 'In-Law Suite' in our home. We were fortunate enough to be able to afford Kitchenaid stainless steel appliances - a wonderful upgrade at an affordable price! Several colleagues, neighbors and family members have purchased miscellaneous appliances for their homes (washers, dryers, dishwashers) and expressed nothing but complete satisfaction. The Pandemic has wreaked havoc with supply chains, but the crew at Milwaukee Appliance did everything they could to make sure that we were able to move into our 'new space'. The owner even came out to ensure our satisfaction with the installation - when was the last time THAT happened at one of the 'Big Box Stores'??? My wife keeps telling me I have to stop going up to customers in the appliance departments at 'those stores' and whispering that 'the crew at Milwaukee Appliance will do better on price and service!' Called for repair on my 8-year old Maytag washer, which kept giving me an "Overload" message. The technician, Daina, was smug to say the least. First, he lifted up the tub and then pushed some buttons on the machine. Without taking anything apart, he told me it would be $500 to fix my machine. When I asked what was wrong and what would the $500 all entail, he told me that parts under the tub (which are stainless steel and he never saw) were rusted and it needed a whole new assembly. In addition, he told me that the machine would have to be taken to the shop to be repaired, so there would be transportation costs. When I asked why it couldn't be repaired in my house, he told that "parts need to come from everywhere." He then tried to sell me a new machine for $650, saying that I'm better off with a new machine than paying the $500 for repairs. I wasn't about to buy a new washer sight unseen, so I asked for the model number. I later checked that model number and found that Lowe's, Home Depot and Best Buy were selling the same machine for $499 with free delivery. He seemed perturbed that I wasn't willing to buy the new machine and said "most people would have taken the offer." He then wanted to charge me $84+ for the trip charge that they advertise for $39.99. When I questioned that, he was again perturbed and mumbled something about extra for his diagnosis. When I said he didn't take anything apart to make a diagnosis, he reluctantly agreed to the $39.99. Before buying a new machine or getting a second opinion, I decided to try my machine one more time. It has been working fine every since. I don't know why I kept getting the error message, but it appears something minor was wrong and corrected itself. It definitely did not need $500 in repairs. My impression is that he made the estimate for the repairs so high that I had no other option than buying a new machine. I also think he thought he could pull one over, because I'm a woman and wouldn't know any better. I don't think he had any intention of doing repairs and was only there to sell a new machine. No customer service follow through. Ordered a new refrigerator on July 27,2022. Delivery was set for early September. Called store to find status of delivery in mid September to find that the unit was back ordered and would be received by October 6. October 7th I called store again and was given the status as back-order to be delivered November 3rd. November 7th and still no call from Milwaukee Appliance as to delivery. Called them and was told that it is on back order until December 1st. Would have been nice if Milwaukee Appliance as a company would have been the one to contact me instead of myself having to call them to find out the status of an item that is paid for already. For the price that I am paying I expected much better service from this place. I had done business with them for many years before this without issue and now I will not do business with them again. Good news. We are first time homeowners and the light went out in our refrigerator. It wasn't a bulb so we thought maybe it was a good time together a new/used appliance. We went to their showroom and the salesman strongly suggested that we should have a service call before replacing, and the fee could be applied to a new appliance if it couldn't be fixed. Had a problem with my existing washer and called for a repair. Was told I needed a new washer and they proceeded to show me a Whirlpool and said they could match any other retailer. Told them to go ahead. That night I spent some time with my Consumer Reports and next day after what read I decided to ask them if they carried LG washers. They proceeded to trash the LG brand so the first issue I had was why do you have to build up your product by trashing the competition Eventually we decided to take delivery on the Whirlpool. From day one we had an issue with the fabric softener dispenser not working at all. The first visit consisted of replacing a valve which did not solve the problem the second visit consisted of replacing the mother board also to to no avail In the meantime Greg the technician stated fabric softener was no good for a wash machine really not interested in his opinion just wanted my machine fixed. In the meantime we tried putting fabric softener in the bleach dispenser and lo and behold it worked. But I still had a machine that didn't work correctly Weeks passed and phone calls to Milwaukee Appliance fell on deaf ears as they said they were waiting for Whirlpool to get back to them. Finally I called Whirlpool direct and they had no record of my visits by Milwaukee Appliance and nobody was trying to solve my issue. Whirlpool got a kick out of hearing that one of their dealers was stating that fabric softener was no good for their machines They hooked me up to another dealer to come out and see if they could resolve the problem I hope they can't because I feel they should take the machine back anyway As far as Milwaukee Appliance NEVER NEVER AGAIN SOMEBODY SHOULD SHOW THEM A CORRECT WAY TO RUN A BUSINESS read more

Ordered an over the range microwave and was waiting for the call about a delivery time a couple days later. That call NEVER came. We called 4 times that day and was finally told the microwave was out of stock. We we're surprised that they couldn't check on that when they took my money. Two weeks later and still no Microwave After at least 8 calls to them and never a call back, the order was canceled and a dispute filed with the credit card company. So very disappointed. TL;DR- Greg is not trustworthy. Don't do business with him. The company as a whole isn't all bad though. Do your business with TOM. He is the one who has integrity and won't screw you over. Our experience this week: My family had been loyal customers so when our elderly parents' washer started leaking, we called to get a diagnostic/repair. Greg shows up and with barely a glance at our washer, he says "the bearings and shaft are no good- it will cost more to fix this than it will be to buy one of my refurbished washers." I told him "we just bought our current (refurbished) washer from you a little over a year ago." He started fast talking. So, I went to explain the situation to my elderly father and as I was explaining what was broken, in the background Greg yelled "and other stuff too". My father wanted to keep costs low, so he opted to try another refurbished model from Milwaukee Appliance. I asked how much, and Greg said "for $350, the one I sell you will be better and newer. It'll be a whirlpool and it will have direct drive". He wrote up a bill of sale for $379+ tax and handed it to me. At that point I didn't question the difference in the amount, thinking that I must have misheard him the first time around. He took our payment and said the new washer would be delivered that same day. I called several times during that day, trying to get an estimate of delivery time. I got no straight answer until 4pm, when the lady on the phone told me it wouldn't be delivered until the next morning. This morning, the "newer, better, whirlpool" washer showed up. And we had a Big problem. I'm going to add an aside here to say that the two delivery guys who showed up (Drew and Tyler) were excellent. They were professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. They even paused briefly to pet my dog who was trying desperately to push her way through to give them kisses! Anyway, so once the old washer was out, the "newer, better, whirlpool washer is brought in." Only, it's a Kitchenaid washer. And while our broken washer was made in the 90s, the "newer and better" washer was made in the 70's- you know, the ones with ugly brown and yellow around the dials with a pastel blue agitator. The "newer, better" washer was also a downgrade in size. I told the delivery gentlemen that this was not acceptable, and called Greg. When I explained to Greg what my issues were with the washer- (it was neither better, nor newer, nor whirlpool like he promised me) he then got rather snippy at me. He kept trying to over-talk me, saying this was BETTER than he promised and I should be happy with it. When I explained that we will not accept the washer that wasn't what we were promised& what we paid for-his response was "well, I don't know what to do for you". I had to come up with the solution: going to the showroom to see if they had a model in stock that was acceptable and/or they give me a refund. Let's just say that Greg wasn't too happy about this but He told me to ask for Tom in the showroom. Getting to the showroom, We looked briefly but decided that we were just going to go the refund route. Here (along with the delivery guys) is where the 2nd star was earned and the company wasn't a wash. We found Tom and he asked us to join him in his office to process the refund. Tom was fantastic. He listened to our concerns, agreed that our experience wasn't up to his standards and was genuinely apologetic. At no time did he try to pressure us in to purchasing something that we didn't want. After apologizing, he refunded our money without hesitation. He said "I know we won't get your business on this washer, but please... next time you need something, ask for me. I will try my best to satisfy your needs". So, in the end I am willing to give the company one last try because Of Tom and delivery guys. Otherwise I'd never go back. read more

We researched our intended appliances, then shopped very hard for both pricing and service, and did all of our shopping 'blind bid'. While we thought we'd made our choice, we shopped Milwaukee Appliance last after a friend's recommendation. We got our best pricing at Milwaukee Appliance, again - without sharing prior bids. I can't say enough positive about their excellent customer service following the sale. They worked to the contractor's schedule by removing the existing appliances, then returned days later coordinating installation to the contractor's schedule. Their installers were courteous, careful, and informative. I will recommend them to others. BTW, Milwaukee Appliance was the ONLY company of the 6 that we shopped to recommend AGAINST purchasing extended warranty since the higher-end appliances already had great warranties thus saving us more $! Today we finalized all the details for Kitchenaid double-ovens, 36" cooktop, dishwasher, refrigerator, and Whirlpool rangehood, washer and dryer. I'm a sales guy, so I understand negotiating and more importantly customer satisfaction. Did I get a 'screaming deal'? Well, let me say that I left their location with a HUGE smile on my face as I felt we got much more for our money than we thought possible. I just had to write an update and if I could give this place zero stars now, I would. My washer was having the same issue it had four months ago. I called a different company and they came out today. Turns out it was a minor issue, but in order to fix it, the repairman had to take out the pump to retrieve a collar stay that had gotten lodged in there. I asked him if the pump was fairly new, knowing that it had supposedly just been replaced 4 months ago. He frankly told me there was no way the pump could be 4 months old, unless I was doing 20 loads of laundry a day everyday. He took a good look at the pump and was certain it was at least a few years old. Well, that clears it up for me. Greg from Milwaukee Appliance is a liar just like I suspected. He never replaced my pump like he said he did. The repairman that was out today also looked up the retail price of the pump for my particular washer and it's only $60. Greg charged me $370 for parts and labor? Pleeeaaaase. What a ripoff. I will never recommend this company to anyone. read more

I have had great experiences in the past with technicians coming to fix my appliances and even purchasing appliances in the past. However, this time was not good at all. A technician came to my home in early August and it was too expensive to fix my dryer so I went to the showroom and picked out a gas dryer on August 8, 2018. They did not have it in stock so they said it will take up to two weeks for it to come in. I called at the two week mark and was told it should be on tomorrow's shipment and they will be calling me to schedule a delivery. I never received a call. I called two weeks after that, Sept 5th and asked about my dryer and I was told it will be here on September 20th. I cancelled the order and I hope they will credit my account for the price that I paid. I never received a call from anyone about the delay. Nevertheless, I will never use Milwaukee appliance and will steer friends, neighbors and family away from the company. read more

Out Maytag dryer started to sound like a concrete mixer so, of course, I called Milwaukee Appliance. Had to leave a message as they were closed (Sunday). They never called back. We again called on Tuesday, and they promised Thursday service. OK. They broke that appointment and promised again for Friday. I'm becoming irritated. They show up, fix the dryer, plus unneeded work, and get paid over the phone via credit card. When I get home from work, I find a receipt for almost $300, but a summary receipt. No breakdown what they did, how much for part or labor. ??? I called the next day and was told this is how they do business. Bullshit. They advertise $39.95 trip charge but once they get there the charge goes up exponentially! Ended up paying $267.00 for a part, $5.00 - $13.00 new on the internet (yes I looked it up....and that was retail) and it took him 20 minutes to replace. Plus he made a big deal out of the fact I asked him to move the machine 6.5 feet because we're having the wall worked on soon and yes I told the salesman when I made the appointment and he said it would not be a problem but when the repairman got here he argued with me saying they didn't make hoses that long.........UGH! Why can't people just smile and do their job.....talk about lazy! I would have moved it myself except I'm recovering from shoulder surgery. Anyway, I called and talked to Tom , the owner/manager who made the appointment and told him I felt ripped off and he said that was a fair price for a 20 minute repair and suggested that the part they put in the machine (called a tension idler pulley) was worth more because it was made by Maytag/Whirlpool but then so were the parts I saw on the internet. My mothers washer stopped working and this company came out to repair it and convinced my mom that they could supply a top quality used front loading washer. My mom was 84 at the time and thought she was getting a fairly new machine that was refurbished. She told us before buying the machine and we thought she was getting a newer machine that was a refurbished machine. That was in May of 2015, the washer stopped working last week and Milwaukee appliance came out to service. The service person indicated that the machine needed a new pump which they quoted at $384.00 for a $75.00 pump. My mom has owned the machine for less then 10 months and she was looking at close to $1000 invested in an older used machine in order to get it working again. That is ridiculous! I looked up the machine on line and within a few minutes I had cleaned a clog in the pump and it was working fine. No new pump was needed at all!! The service person had convinced my mom that instead of repairing the machine that she should pay $600 for another machine and another $50 to haul the old machine away. I can just see Milwaukee appliance getting the used machine back, cleaning the pump and selling it for $100's to the next sucker. STEER CLEAR OF THIS PLACE.
