It's ok, like meh. I came by for a palomilla, rice, and plantains. They didn't have any white rice, the service isn't the best and the steak is MID at best. In Miami, in my opinion, there's too many great Cuban places for a place like this to even be open. It's ok, definitely won't be back. It's a skip for me.

It's a gas station little restaurant attached to it with tons of sandwiches etc. it's ok, they have quite the variety to be at a gas station When it gets busy as you can't pay at the pumps then the lines get long inside and you need patience to be served They mostly only speak Spanish

I came into this place and wanted to order something quick to try out then perhaps I would have made a bigger order. I was rudely told that I needed to spend over $5 to use my credit card, my initial order would have been $4.90 so I was shy of making the $5 mark by a whopping ¢.10 and no, the clerk wouldn't budge. Although I understand the clerk might have specific orders not to take cards for less than $5, I think me expressing that I wanted to try out some pastries before I put a bigger order should have been enough to have something trigger a bigger sale, even better "make an offer"!sell me something with a smile that would make me cross the threshold of the $5 and it would have been a win win, instead I went somewhere else and the sale or possibility of a double sale was lost! It's hard as a business owner to have employees not think out of the box, or try to upscale their sales, it's obviously not their business nor desire #becauseMiami it's no wonder the rating ‍

Love this place because of the yummy food and the nice employees. Whether you are getting gas, or stopping in to get a bite to eat, the staff is always friendly. There is a hidden gem inside. Not only is there a convenience store but also a small little restaurant as well. They have breakfast items but also lunch and dinner items. Did I mention there's a gas station outside too? LOL. They have cuban pastries, empanadas, croquetas, tequeños... can't go wrong here. And they sell wine too!! I heard there was music on fridays.. I'll have to go and see one day. Love this little place. Go try it out!!

Just purchased a home in the neighborhood and was happy to see a nice and clean cafeteria serving great sandwiches. Please check your orders prior to leaving. Bought three sandwiches and a couple of empanadas. I arrive home to find out that a Cuban sandwich was missing. No biggie, I call the business literally 15 min after to claim my missing sandwich but the lady on the phone says that they just switched shifts and have no clue about my order. I politely insist that my order was incomplete and she agrees to make the sandwich. I pick up sandwich and notice the entire staff that took care of me were still working behind the counter. I take sandwich home only to find out that they literally put only one slice of ham and turkey on bread. It was a passive aggressive and horrible sandwich. Very disappointed. I'd rather have not received anything at all. Classless. Employees can be a piece of work sometimes :-(

This is my go to spot for Cuban Breakfast & Pan Con Bistecs for lunch! The quality of food is delicious, the employees are always friendly and helpful, and ALWAYS make my coffee just the way I like it. (Dulcesito y Clarito) On top of it all, the prices are unbeatable! I swear, I don't know how many bakeries I've been to for a simple Cuban toast, naturally squeezed OJ, some croquetas and a small cafe con leche and have almost spent close to $20. Here at Mimas, we get a whole breakfast combo, with eggs and ham, cuban toast toast, hash browns AND a coffee for my boyfriend + a Cuban toast for me with coffee and a naturally squeezed orange juice & I don't pay more than $12-$13. Amazing place. Amazing quality. Amazing amazing. It is in a gas station, so parking is a little tricky. But they do have parking spots available & have street parking right on the side street. Nonetheless, always worth it! Hope you enjoy.

    $9 "turkey" sandwich

$9 sandwich. 1 slice of turkey, no cheese, stale bread, tasteless tomato, and a pile of shredded lettuce to hide their shame. I could've forgiven a bad sandwich but this place is just trying to take advantage of people on the go. there's much better options around here. this place just lost all of my future business.

This used to be the best sandwich shop in the neighborhood. Then, there was a major renovation and this is the first time I've tried it since. It's no longer a winner. I ordered a nearly $10 turkey sandwich which had a single thin sliver of turkey and rock hard bread. I wonder what the heck happened here. I asked my neighbors and they agree that it's just gone completely down hill since the renovation. Bummer.

Breakfast? Maybe? Idk. It tastes bad. Order from Uber eats.

I was told that when you're in Florida ESPECIALLY Miami you HAVE to get Cuban food. And wow... now…read moreI understand why. As we were driving in, the place already looked beautiful. We came in the evening and immediately, as we walked up, there was music, people laughing, talking, smiling... the energy was incredible. I also loved that there was a bar off to the side while waiting. We ordered a few mojitos and sat outside at the tables and benches, just enjoying the atmosphere. When our name was finally called and we walked inside, I genuinely felt like I was stepping into history. The atmosphere here is unmatched. The music, the aromas, the people. God, I loved it here and I hadn't even tried the food yet. We ordered the braised oxtail (which came with plantains and rice), salmon glazed in guava BBQ sauce, ceviche tropical, assorted empanadas, and a Cuban sandwich. Everything was phenomenal. The sauce paired with the empanadas perfectly. The guava BBQ glaze on the salmon was absolute perfection. It was the perfect combo of sweet, smoky, and flavorful. The ceviche had the perfect acidity and tasted so fresh and refreshing. This is one of the most famous Cuban restaurants in Miami. It completely lives up to the reputation. Highly recommended

DIRT AND MUD IN THE SALAD!!! WATCH OUT…read more We ordered the salad with mango and pecans. They do not wash there lettuce. There was literally dirt/mud at the bottom and I took my first bite and it felt like biting into sand. Upon spitting the food out onto my plate it was black sludge. Literally my tongue and teeth were black. The waiter came by and grabbed the plate when I was in the bathroom. I spent about 10 minutes trying to get that BLACK SLUDGE out of my mouth. When I was spitting out the dirt/mud wife noticed the bus boys laughing at me and there was not a manger in sight. When I asked for a manager he did not even respond. No apology or anything just a look of confusion. Worst experience in a restaurant in my life and I love to eat and have been to many types of restaurant big and small. Cheap and expensive and this one takes the cake. We were so bummed as I see thousands of great reviews. But if there was a zero I would have given zero stars the way they handled the situation. If you eat there in the future make sure to check for DIRT/MUD.

Appears like a large building from the outside but is actually a small quaint space that is clean and well kept. Service was awesome and we felt welcome even though it was quite clear we were tourists traveling in. I imagine this place runs in to out of towners a lot but they treated us kindly and, if we lived here, we would definitely put this spot on rotation. Our sandwiches were amazing. My partner got the one with plantains in it and that one definitely stole the show. I liked my tinta y cafe sandwich, but her's was a star. The cafecito and lattes were on point too and a truly great breakfast meal. Pair that with the rain pouring down outside it made for a truly memorable experience and quick bite.

It's small, though, so be prepared to put your name on a waitlist if you're hoping to sit inside. There's also an outdoor seating option where you can order through their cute little walk-up window "la ventanita," as they call it. On a cloudy day like ours, the weather wasn't an issue, but unfortunately the outdoor area shows some wear: the plants, and the tables all need some attention. Worth noting, one section sits close to the restaurant's large trash bins, and the smell does reach the tables, which is a shame. Now, the good stuff , and there's plenty of it. The staff is wonderful: young, enthusiastic, genuinely warm and professional. The passion they have for what they do comes through immediately. The passion fruit juice (jugo de parchita) was absolutely delicious naturally unsweetened, which for me is exactly right. And the sandwich? That's what brought me here in the first place, and it did not disappoint. It was outstanding, the kind of thing you find yourself thinking about long after you've left. 100% recommended. Here's hoping they give that outdoor space some love soon!

You can't beat having a fake cocaine brick (at least I think) sitting at your table amidst the menus and drinks. They have regular silverware but do use plastic cups that gives off that relaxed, casual vibe. There are several craft beers from all over the country available from $7-10, and I believe a couple house wines. I think the nicest drink you can get is a frozen lemonade or fruit punch. It comes virgin and a little sugary, a little coarsely icy, a lot refreshing. But you can ask for a shot of rum to be added to it. I could drink 3 of those if I allowed myself to! I have tried friends' Cuban dishes, like yuca fries, tostones, rice and beans, which have all been standardly good. But I always get drawn to the Greek menu and end up ordering the plates. The plates are huge and come stacked with fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, a beautifully dressed salad, tzatziki, hummus and pita slices. You have a choice of side, and I have unashamedly ordered the crispy, crunchy fries each time and have plenty to share. The proteins are clearly made freshly---the falafel is crisp and the chicken kebab is well seasoned and moist. However, they come up with creative and tasty offerings as well. The Cuban Sandwich Empanadas are stuffed with juicy pulled pork, ham and melty cheese for a snack you didn't realized you had been waiting for. The Greek egg rolls blows my mind and are a great hot, greasy, juicy, meaty treat. The servers are typically on it when it comes to orders and whatever you need. Owner Adrian keeps his staff on point, and JJ is always a friendly face when we go. They inform us at the time to pay (at least in my experience) that 18% gratuity is automatically added to the check, so the tip page is for any additional gratuity. Give yourself a stop by this restaurant and try their dishes for yourself! I dare you to be able to choose just one or two!

Chug's is the kind of place that screams comfort for food. There is nothing fancy here. Just beautiful, indoor and outdoor seating in a diner type atmosphere with excellent food and even better service. I must admit that, even in major cities like New York and Miami the parking gods smile on me. As is strangely usual for me, as I drove up to the restaurant on a busy Sunday morning, someone pulled out only steps away from my destination, leaving me a space to pull into. Walked up to the restaurant since they do not take reservations on Sunday mornings and put my name in. I was informed of the wait, which was not a problem because it was a beautiful day to walk around. I peruse the neighborhood, seeing other lovely restaurants and shops before being informed that my table was ready quite quickly. It was a gorgeous day to sit outside, but the first table that opened up was indoors, and it was kind of nice to enjoy the ambience of an old style diner. Perused the menu, which was quite nice, but told I could only order from the brunch menu, which was a little bit restrictive. We ordered La Completa with smoked salmon, a pancake with Nutella and bananas, and a milkshake and french fries for dipping pleasure. Everything was excellent. Service was over the top good. Really enjoyed it and will be back. I always feel I have to explain why I leave four stars instead of five at a restaurant that I love. In this case it is specifically because there was nothing creative about the pancake. They start with an exquisite preparation, but do nothing to make it extraordinary. For example, served with fruit compote and nuts or ice cream and sliced fruit or any other creative arrangement could really elevate the dish, making it both picture worthy and enticing to return to try more options. Despite that minor criticism, I really love this place and will be back and even try other meals here. Oh and don't forget to hold my parking space.
