We were here mid-day in a Monday,m for lunch, and the place was pretty busy, and we quickly discovered why - the food was terrific. A business associate recommended this place and told me to get the Cuban sandwich, which I did-it was pretty large and DEEEE-licious!! My husband got a breaded meat dish with tomatoes and cheese (no idea what the name of this dish was, though) and raved about it. Beautiful restaurant with outdoor and indoor seating. They also have a coffee window, with a few seats outside, if you need a pick me up. Our server was so attentive and the food came out super fast. The ceviche was made perfectly with just the right tang of lime. We also enjoyed the ox tails which comes with two sides. Get the plantains to soak up the gravy. So yummy! On a scale of cuban restaurants most common in Miami, I would rank this the lowest. It's almost a Miami Beach tourist trap of sout Miami. Under flavored and underwhelmed it's a shame because the staff works so hard to please you To start, someone in our group had ordered yuca fries but remarked it has no flavor and not worth eating. I skipped all appetizers and waited for others to have their apps including tostones with creme cheese and caviar ontop which they didn't say if was good or not but seemed to be OK for the price (was not expensive) Onto my entree: Salmon a la Plancha with a cilantro butter on top helped to give it flavor a few bites at a time. That salmon needed a lot of help to have flavor with the butter and also the salt and pepper. That salmon was not the color of fresh water salmon like Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon but more of Farmed Salmon slight pink. Unfortunately this restaurant chose to skillet it in a cheap oil very tasting of canola oil. Can't escape that and having heartburn / acid reflux for a few hours later as I write this review. Wow had not been back since 2023 and the place is worst. Was there on a Sunday at 1:30pm and practically empty. The servers talking inside amongst themselves and with a face and attitude of not wanting to be there either. We ordered their specials for the day, Caldo Gallego and it was a shadow of what is supposed to look and taste like. It was watery and only had cheap cubed ham pieces seen throughout their dishes. The complimentary bread was hard, and their butter is margarine spread. The main entree was Trucha a La Navarra that the ancestors would cringe at the taste. Looked like dried up salmon with no lemon nor butter sauce but rather looked and tasted like old lard. Local love for this Cuban fusion restaurant! Affordable and tasty. They also offer healthy versions of carbs like quinoa and brown rice. Each time we come here we sit at the bad and order a variety of appetizers but we always have the jamon y queso plate and the ceviche. The restaurant offers your typical Cuban cuisine and also adds a little spanish flare- such as paella, bacalao- (cod), pitchers of sangria. The restaurant also has live music on Friday and Saturdays. We ordered the following drinks in no particular order: 3 Mojitos, very good 1 Double mojito 2 Cachaza double shots 1 Whiskey sour 2 Stellas My dish was the Dorado (MahiMahi) with salad and fufu. The fufu needed to be smashed more for my taste. The Mahi was excellent. We also ordered Camarones al ajillo with Moro & boiled yuca. Absolutely delicious! This shrimp dish is seriously for garlic lovers and tasted amazing. Masitas de puerco con Fufu. Pollo asado w fufu & salad. The food was very flavorful and delicious. Our orders arrived together and were steaming. I very much loved this restaurant. My only complaint is they really need to staff more servers on weekends. Although our service was good, it was extremely slow. This could've been because we sat outside, which may have contributed to the slowness. Today we had lunch at Casa Cuba Restaurant in South Miami. We Sat at the Bar with Michel. He was Disrespectfully and Rudely Challenged by a University of Miami Chef and a Venezuelan Sous Chef. She was Extremely Disrespectful, insulted the Bar tender and customers food with ALL sort of Degrading Bad words and continually calling him Stupid. very traumatic experience for me and my disabled daughter with her mobility service dog the manager said the corporate office owner of Casa Cuba and Versailles the Valls Group Inc located in Miami on 8th street does not honor service dogs inside the restaurant even if it is trained to assist people with disabilities. Ordered the calamari, shredded chicken with rice and beans, lechon with rice and beans, a mojito and house wine. Set us back about $72 not including tip. The calamari was good. I enjoyed the lechon. Wife was expecting shredded chicken, not chopped. She didn't enjoy her meal. The beans were on the cooler side. I'm use to it being warm. Mojito was alright. Food portion was not that great, at least for the price we paid. Service was decent. We got here around 4pm so there was no band playing at the time. I also read they do have a cover charge while there's live music. Luckily that wasn't the case for us. We found this place driving by at 9:30pm on a Thursday night. The building is gorgeous and massive. We were surprised to walk in and see a live band playing that late, it was a retiree crowd but it was packed! The place is so big there was no wait. But everyone was dancing (all the retired people). It was LOUD in there, it was hard to hear eachother speaking. We ordered typical Cuba dishes and it was just okay. All the rinks tasted funny from soda to teas so we think something was wrong with their ice that night. The food was good, but not the best Cuba food we had ever tasted. It was basic, no frills or extra seasonings. Somewhat bland. We were so hungry we just stopped at the first place we saw that looked open. Probably would have been more fun if we were in our 60's and wanted to go dancing while we eat. There were huge parties in there of 10-25 people so if you have a large party this is your spot. Came here for a work lunch. I didn't choose the location. I ordered the vaca frita. Didn't like it, it was dry. Dry seemed to be the theme of their food as the majority of my colleagues also said their dishes were dry. I also ordered the cassava soup and did not like it at all. Way too thick and so bland. Went with a group of colleagues on a weeknight for an after-work dinner. Bar service at the 360-degree bar was slow, but I enjoyed my house cocktails (can't remember which 2 I had, but both were quite nice). The place wasn't very full, which was nice so it didn't get too noisy. They had a little bandstand set up with a keyboard and a cajon, but no one played that night. I ate a ton of chorizo and jamon appetizers, which were very generous for our group dinner. All of the sides were great, IIRC they had tostones which were quite good. We had a choice of 3 entrees (I think beef, chicken or shrimp), I chose the shrimp with rice, which was just OK, in a tomato sauce. Shrimp was very generic, maybe slightly overcooked, didn't wow me.
