I keep telling people to go by here since it's easily missed in all of the new businesses in Wynwood! Where else can you get entrees from a Cuban and Greek menu, both solid, for $13-17? You can't beat having a fake cocaine brick (at least I think) sitting at your table amidst the menus and drinks. They have regular silverware but do use plastic cups that gives off that relaxed, casual vibe. There are several craft beers from all over the country available from $7-10, and I believe a couple house wines. I think the nicest drink you can get is a frozen lemonade or fruit punch. It comes virgin and a little sugary, a little coarsely icy, a lot refreshing. But you can ask for a shot of rum to be added to it. I could drink 3 of those if I allowed myself to! I have tried friends' Cuban dishes, like yuca fries, tostones, rice and beans, which have all been standardly good. But I always get drawn to the Greek menu and end up ordering the plates. The plates are huge and come stacked with fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, a beautifully dressed salad, tzatziki, hummus and pita slices. You have a choice of side, and I have unashamedly ordered the crispy, crunchy fries each time and have plenty to share. The proteins are clearly made freshly---the falafel is crisp and the chicken kebab is well seasoned and moist. However, they come up with creative and tasty offerings as well. The Cuban Sandwich Empanadas are stuffed with juicy pulled pork, ham and melty cheese for a snack you didn't realized you had been waiting for. The Greek egg rolls blows my mind and are a great hot, greasy, juicy, meaty treat. The servers are typically on it when it comes to orders and whatever you need. Owner Adrian keeps his staff on point, and JJ is always a friendly face when we go. They inform us at the time to pay (at least in my experience) that 18% gratuity is automatically added to the check, so the tip page is for any additional gratuity. Love to see the Miami culture still alive and kicking. Smugglers is a Cuban/Greek restaurant. The owner and the workers are excellent folks. They do their best to accommodate their guests. My complaint could possibly just be a me issue, so give them grace and let me know. First, we ordered app., Mariquitas. They were terrible, we had to send it back. They were cold, greasy, with no crunch. IMO they were stale. Next, my order was delayed by 20 mins because when it came out it was giving to the wrong person. To the person that had walked in ordered and received my order in 5 min. In their mind that was great service, while I'm dying of starvation. The server apologized and offered a discount. Then, chicken was tough, and the rice was grainy. For context purposes, keep in mind that that was my first meal of the and it was around 5p, so you know I was hangry. Hopefully it was a me problem. There are times that no matter how high end and gentrified an area is, only Cuban comfort food will hit the spot. You don't want the experimental fusion dishes, you want a nice pollo a la plancha or croquettes (with tostones!) Smugglers - with it's Miami marimbero 80's decor - is such a spot. Merged with the Greek street food Nostimo space, you will find table decorations by Chichi (#iykyk) and tasty Cuban classics. It's a cozy spot, clean & well maintained and with a friendly wait staff. Unlike the old Cuban cafeterias, they do have a cocktail menu. I've enjoyed their chocolate martini and coconut mojito ("muddled smuggler"). Smuggler's is open late, until around 3 or 4AM, and located right across from a famous Wynwood club. I've stopped an couple of times, and enjoyed from both their Greek and Cuban menus. Their pollo a la plancha right with the cebollitas (chicken breast) is sizeable and well seasoned with the citrusy garlicky goodness of mojo. The palomilla steak another friend ordered was just as well seasoned. My croquetas had the look and taste of homemade (actual texture of the breading). My sister and I stopped into Smuggler's for a quick bite to eat before shopping the area. Paid parking garage parking is available. Discover is an accepted form of payment. Smuggler's offers outdoor seating; however, we opted for indoor seating with AC. We shared the Cuban Sandwich for $14.56. The menu showed the price as $14. Beer can be ordered to enjoy with your meal but we chose to stick with water during lunch. The sandwich was absolutely delicious and perfect size to share for a light lunch. This was the first Cuban sandwich I ate while in Miami so had nothing to compare it to as of yet. Service was friendly and efficient. Overall, Smuggler's hit the spot for lunch. Smuggler's needs to update their menu with the correct pricing. It is irritating and unacceptable to received tab's that do not match menu pricing. read more

Smugglers cocina Cubana located in Wynwood is a little place that serves Cuban food and Greek a bit of both worlds. My experience was kind of a hit or miss. I tried the hummus and that was tasty but the egg rolls just didn't taste good. The ropa vieja with rice and beans was delicious, and I tried the masitas de puerco and they were equally delicious. Shoutout to the owner and servers...top-notch. Best part is that they have a set up for karaoke and bingo, and my friend was able to host a fundraiser for cancer research. Typically when they do that you can tell because the additional tip request is 3%, 5% and 7%.. They had 15%, 20% and 25% as the options.. And don't print out physical receipt so you would not know.. I had an awesome time for a bingo and karaoke event at Smugglers. It's a super cute cafe with very nice artwork and content worthy aesthetics. The food was really good. Also, service was good and friendly, I had the tostones with ropa vieja. The tostones were fried to the right consistency. And the meat was so flavorful and good. The $5 drink specials are great. I started on the sangria which was ok then we moved on to a pitcher of margarita. It was pretty good just way too much ice. It ended up being less than 5 cups worth of drinks for $25 because of the ice. Would have made out better buying 5 of the $5 specials. Miami vice themed restaurant in wynwood with both Cuban and Greek menus available from its kitchens. I had the vaca frita with salad (grateful for the low carb swap!) My table companions got giant Greek yogurt servings, fries for days, and some excellent looking mixed drinks. Service was knowledgeable and quick especially for a large group. This is where I was upset. When it came to getting the bill and keep in mind nowhere on the menu did it say they charge service fees. My entrée was $17 but when I got the bill, it was $24 with fees and taxes. it would have been nice to know that they're going to charge you extra fees just to sit down to eat and that service fee was not a tip. I had a glass of water and my entrée. Max, it should've been $20 including tip but it ended up costing me $27 with fees, taxes and tip. Keep in mind this is not a fancy sitdown restaurant. This place was such a cute find, we got there on a Friday evening around 8 o'clock and it was pretty empty so we got seated right away. Our server was so kind and we got started on appetizers and drinks immediately. I will say that the drinks really good, they were strong, but still palatable. We ordered appetizers, they came out with the food, which is a bit odd, as appetizers we had hummus and pita slices. My partner got the Cuban sandwich which to me it just was OK, but my partner loved it. I ordered some Greek style chicken plate which was amazing.
