    Saturday Special: Sopa de Res
    Karla E.

This hole in the wall has my heart! They have specials every day! I would take it to go because the inside is mighty small and seating is limited. We sat and the waitress came to greet us in less than 10 minutes. She took our drink and food order and in a couple minutes came back with toast! It was honestly super buttery and crunchy! Food: I had to try one of the Saturday specials, the sopa de res. I was pleasantly surprised! I had the small and it was a big plate that came with a side of rice and a tortilla. And of course, I had to try the pupusas! I had one of queso con frijol and one of queso con loroco. Honestly, they both tasted pretty authentic, but my favorite was the queso con loroco. So flavorful and cheesy!! Drinks: they have $4 coronas! I didn't have one, but I had the horchata and it was good. Tasted fresh made! Give this place a shot! Looks run downed but the food is tasty, great price, and good serving size! Great service too. The waitresses were quick and attentive.

Versailles - Tres Leches ($4.95) - good though also on the sweeter side. Not as sweet as the flan.

I was told that when you're in Florida ESPECIALLY Miami you HAVE to get Cuban food. And wow... now…read moreI understand why. As we were driving in, the place already looked beautiful. We came in the evening and immediately, as we walked up, there was music, people laughing, talking, smiling... the energy was incredible. I also loved that there was a bar off to the side while waiting. We ordered a few mojitos and sat outside at the tables and benches, just enjoying the atmosphere. When our name was finally called and we walked inside, I genuinely felt like I was stepping into history. The atmosphere here is unmatched. The music, the aromas, the people. God, I loved it here and I hadn't even tried the food yet. We ordered the braised oxtail (which came with plantains and rice), salmon glazed in guava BBQ sauce, ceviche tropical, assorted empanadas, and a Cuban sandwich. Everything was phenomenal. The sauce paired with the empanadas perfectly. The guava BBQ glaze on the salmon was absolute perfection. It was the perfect combo of sweet, smoky, and flavorful. The ceviche had the perfect acidity and tasted so fresh and refreshing. This is one of the most famous Cuban restaurants in Miami. It completely lives up to the reputation. Highly recommended

DIRT AND MUD IN THE SALAD!!! WATCH OUT…read more We ordered the salad with mango and pecans. They do not wash there lettuce. There was literally dirt/mud at the bottom and I took my first bite and it felt like biting into sand. Upon spitting the food out onto my plate it was black sludge. Literally my tongue and teeth were black. The waiter came by and grabbed the plate when I was in the bathroom. I spent about 10 minutes trying to get that BLACK SLUDGE out of my mouth. When I was spitting out the dirt/mud wife noticed the bus boys laughing at me and there was not a manger in sight. When I asked for a manager he did not even respond. No apology or anything just a look of confusion. Worst experience in a restaurant in my life and I love to eat and have been to many types of restaurant big and small. Cheap and expensive and this one takes the cake. We were so bummed as I see thousands of great reviews. But if there was a zero I would have given zero stars the way they handled the situation. If you eat there in the future make sure to check for DIRT/MUD.

La Tierra Restaurant - Miami, FL…read more La Tierra never disappoints! The atmosphere was amazing -- great music, an even better DJ, and food that hits every time. The vibe is perfect for a night out with friends or just to enjoy good food and good energy. I also want to give a big shout-out to the staff. I accidentally left my wallet there the night before, right after Thanksgiving, and they kept it safe for me until the next day. Truly honest and attentive people. That alone shows the kind of service they provide.

I was excited to try this place; it was my birthday dinner date with my husband. We rarely get out…read morealone. Unfortunately, the music was so loud (4 pm-ish on a Sunday) it was extremely difficult to compete against. People were shouting over the music. It wasn't as "warm and inviting" as I expected. It was so loud, I had to leave. I was looking for a place where we could dine and where (normal volume) conversation could take place. Sadly that was my first impression. I ordered a quisqueya roll and tried to cancel before leaving but was told it was too late to cancel. So I bought it "to go" while we found a different place to eat. I'm normally not a complainer. In fact, I usually give excellent reviews! I tried to avoid the negative review and originally messaged them privately via IG. No manager approached us; no one seemed to care.
