My husband son and I came to have breakfast on Sunday at noon. We were seated right away and were seated at a table that was stroller accessible for my baby. Our server Yoseli came to our table to ask for our drinks right away and it did not take long to receive them. Our service and food was great! Ordered a MR ribeye steak dinner to go with baked potato. Steak was well done and very tough. Mimi's has gone down hill a long way since back in the day. Will not return. And it as almost $50 with a tip. I could have gone to McCormick and Schmick's for a little more with great steaks and service. read more

I made an online order and for some reason I did not receive a receipt nor did I get an email to my account regarding the transaction. Instead, the amount was debited from my account as proof that I paid for the meal. I called the restaurant and explained to them the situation and they said they needed proof that I paid for the meal. So they still prepped the meal and I went to the restaurant to show them my bank account and the amount that was debited from my account. I spoke with the general manager Eric H and showed him proof and he said that pending charge was not proof that I paid for the meal. So I said I will call my bank to prove to you. I had the call on speaker so that he could hear that there was a charge and that the amount would clear on Monday per the banks conservation. Turns out there was a charge after all. The manager still did not believe me but yet decided to give me the food anyway. I am not sure he understands the process of using a debit/credit card when paying for items. I felt so humiliated and embarrassed that I had to prove that I paid for a meal. I had already showed him proof. He would not apologize and simply stated I already gave you the food so there. Maybe it was a glitch in the system and that's why they didn't get the order but I paid. I was upset that I had to go through all that. I immediately asked for his card and explain to him that I will be contacting corporate office on Monday to explain how I was treated. This will be my last time ordering from Mimi's cafe. The prices at this IHOP are ridiculous nothing for under $20 a standard milk shake was $9. Go somewhere else the convenience of this place does not outweigh the outright price gouging. We went in late Friday night and they were winding down but the service was excellent. Marisol and an older woman ( a manager I believe) were our servers and they were wonderful. As was the food. W head the crab cake appetizer, French onion soup and split the chicken pot pie. That was heavenly. Were used to frozen pot pies so it was fantastic to have a hearty pie with generous amounts of veggies and chicken We live in West Hollywood and the long gone French Market was a "cousin" of Mimi's so it was homecoming of sorts. The food was great but the service on the other hand not so much. Be careful when coming here. We had a server who wouldn't let his customers leave until they gave him a tip. EACH TIME. He felt entitled to one although it's not a requirement. His service was nothing excellent. He probably stopped at our table twice; once to take our order and the second to leave our food. We were staying at a nearby hotel and this seemed like the best place for lunch and dinner! The inside is a Mimi's Cafe, a movie set version of a French cafe. I don't fault places for being exactly what they say they are. Construction is quantum mechanics to me, but the roof looks horrible and cannot be correct. The service was good both times we went with decent sized parties. The staff were polite and professional. However, I received a shot of tequila in the strangest way. The server brought it and left it on a teacup saucer. It was a source of laughter during our whole trip and something I won't forget! I ordered the Turkey sandwich for lunch and house salad and fries for dinner. The fries and salad were good. There was a bit of a wait when we first arrived but not because there was a lot of people waiting to be seated, but because there wasn't anyone at the front desk to greet people. Someone would come out every five minutes or so to take another party back to a table. While the experience didn't get off to the best start, my meal definitely made up for it. I had decided to get the quiche florentine and it was actually really amazing. The crust was buttery and fluffy and the side of potatoes were nice and crisp. I had not had dinner at a Mimi's restaurant for many years! We flew down for my birthday weekend. I had plans to spend my birthday proper at California Adventure, so the night before, we walked from the hotel over here for dinner. I ordered the half chicken dinner with 2 sides (garlic spinach and potatoes au gratin) and a Heineken to drink. The waitress was a nice girl, very friendly and pleasant, but not sure she was fully trained. She brought my Heineken in a bottle, plopped in down in front of me without a glass and ran off. Was I supposed to chug-a-lug it straight from the bottle like I was at a tailgate party? That was weird. She also brought tomato juice for my daughter, which was not refrigerated and tasted warm and awful that way. I asked for a cold mug for myself and a glass of ice for my daughters tomato juice, and eventually it came. My chicken was not quite cooked well enough for my tastes. I like the chicken to be brown and crispy skinned with juicy but well done meat inside. If its too watery looking in the plate and kind of rubbery and red near the bone I hate that....seemed like under cooked chicken. The sides were great though, very buttery and cheesy au gratin potatoes and garlicky spinach. She was also kind enough to bring me some real butter for the bread and take away the nasty margarine. Since the last time I went to a Mimi's they did away with the lovely mixed bread basket that had different breads inside...now its just sliced sourdough. Too bad, it comes across as very cheap when restaurants only want to increase their bottom line, and don't care to improve the food or service. For $80 for 3 people, I could probably find a better place. Don't get me wrong, its not bad (which is why I gave them 3 stars), I'm sure many people like it as it is. But would I come back? My wife ordered breakfast and enjoyed it as did my oldest son. My youngest son ordered chicken fingers from the appetizer menu and there had to be 10 of them on the plate. The bread was a nice accompaniment to the meal. The corn chowder was decent. It has celery, corn, potato and onion in it. It's a classic chowder. The Berry Spinach & Shrimp Quinoa Salad was decent, but unfortunately, they forgot to add the quinoa. I didn't ask for the quinoa since the restaurant was busy. Anyway, the salad had a good amount of berries in it, I loved that there were fresh strawberries. However, the blueberries were definitely frozen prior. The grilled shrimp skewers were good, a little salty to my liking, but blended nicely with the salad. There was a little sweet and savory going on. The raspberry vinaigrette was a little to sweet for me, but it comes on the side so you can add as much or little as you like. Overall, Mimi's was ok. My family and I love old cozy, homey style diners. Its right across the street from Disneyland so we decided to stop by after a few hours at the park. The menu looked so amazing and it was HUGE! We decided to get a few entrees and just split them between us all. I was really looking forward to everything we ordered but it was all very underwhelming. Food ordered: corn chowder soup, cream cheese stuffed French toast, chicken pot pie, and a pastrami sandwich with fries. The corn chowder was the best thing I had. Everything else seemed like basic, bland frozen food that had absolutely no flavor. The service was good, nothing great. From where we were sitting, we could only see our table and one other couple in the whole restaurant but the lobby was JAMMED with people waiting. Maybe they were understaffed.
