New core memory with my firstborn...was formally introduced to the new girlfriend!

Wonderful food, atmosphere, people. It used to be tradition for my kids and I to come here for my birthday. They are now grown, I moved out of state, so now we come whenever I'm in town! So glad we aren't gluten-intolerant because we sure do love our carbs. Their buttermilk spice muffins would be on my what-to-eat-before-I-croak list. Their food is quality, comforting, and made from scratch.

After my friend did not enjoy her lunch at Disneyland, we decided to eat here since it is right across from Disneyland. They did not give us a difficult time with our service dog. We opted for their half sandwich and soup combination. My colleague was not satisfied with her sandwich, but we both found the French onion soup to be enjoyable. Conversely, I personally savored my grilled cheese sandwich.

What a nice family restaurant. It has an extensive menu. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We ordered a variety of things like the crusted parmesan chicken, pot roast and some pastries. The chicken was tender tied in well with the linguine and flavorful. The pot roast was a little strong in flavor and just ok. Corn Chowder was good with some bread on the side. The bread pudding was excellent for a great dessert. Overall, a great dining experience. I would visit here again when I'm in the area

I was very pleasantly surprised with this visit to Mimi's. This restaurant was in our hotel parking lot and after a long day of travel we went here foe the convenience. We had 4 kids (our server was very tolerant ) and 4 adults in our party and there was truly something for everyone. Love that the kids meals come with so many sides so you don't have to choose and that you can order breakfast any time - even for dinner! The kids loved the chocolate chip pancakes. I appreciated that the menu indicated ways to make items vegan/vegetarian and that their were options beyond just your typical veggie burger. I had the mushroom and onion melt (minus the Brie and butter) and then swapped for a side of steamed broccoli - delicious!! My meat eating family all enjoyed their meals - burgers, steak and for the hungry kids...bread while they waited. I also was surprised to find out it's a French themed restaurant and the decor really does make you feel like you've been transported to Europe - or at least be French Quarter in New Orleans

This was the muffin that I had as part of my breakfast. Pumpkin. When I go back im getting this again. :-)

Excellent Experience at Mimi's! My wife and I visited Mimi's on Harbor Boulevard right next to Disneyland, and it was easily one of the best restaurant experiences we've ever had. From the moment we walked in, we noticed how spotlessly clean the place was. We were seated immediately, and our server was fantastic--incredibly polite and attentive to everything we needed. The service alone was top-tier. As for the food: * Fresh & Hot: Everything arrived at the table steaming and full of flavor. * The Muffins: Absolutely legendary. You cannot miss these! * Quality: You can tell the staff takes pride in what they do. It's rare to find a place where every single detail is perfect, but Mimi's nailed it. If you're in the area, this is a must-visit. We'll definitely be back!

What happened to the bread basket???? Very sad 1/10
Bob A.

Very very sad... one of the reason I enjoy coming here is the bread service... unfortunately, there is none... when I asked the server brought out some very sad looking bread that didn't look very appealing... used to love the pumpkin loaf and sour dough... you can look at past photos and see what it used to look like... sadly it's just a memory... and the food quality and service seemed tired and lacking... the french dip was slightly cold as well as the fries... the au jus too salty... and the beef was like it came from a package... the salad leaves were not even cut up... and it was not fresh... I think the only reason this Mimi's is still in business is because it's next to Disneyland and there is a constant stream of customers... and the management does not care... I will not be back...

The organization of the restaurant isn't the best, our waitress was amazing. She did great but she had like 10 tables and we were a table of 10. So I felt really bad for her. The food came out cold, and for the eggs benedict the eggs were boiled so that was interesting. The flavor was great though; the food was still yummy. Also for the mimosa flight we got served the juice in glasses and was handed a tiny serving of champagne. It wasn't enough to even fill all 3 glasses. It's definitely a good restaurant just not great.

I got the lobster bisque - the tableside presentation was an elegant touch and it was creamy and rich - and the flank steak for dinner. One of the top 2 steaks ive ever had. Cooked to perfection. Bread was also tasty! Got the petite choco souffle with the grand marnier anglais. Also perfectly fluffy but my friend got it with the choco sauce and i have to say that one was better. Staff first welcomed us in the court of angels (downstairs courtyard area) and greeted us with refreshing chill towelettes. Afterwards, we were given a mini tour of the lounge and dining area. It was Alice in Wonderland themed and the interior was super cute and most importantly, ACed. We got a prix fix dinner with 4 courses: Steak tartare (4/5): pretty good standard steak tartare! Shrimp (4/5): super flavorful. My friends got the lamb porterhouse which was 5/5 and super tender and flavorful without the gaminess. American wagyu ribeye (3/5): the steak itself was pretty tough and lean. I had some difficulty even cutting slices. Would definitely skip this one. Cheese plate (4/5): pretty standard cheese plate. Overall, really great experience! The food itself isn't mind blowing, but the atmosphere, staff, and good vibes made our experience at Disney! Also, the bathroom is super nice to check out (they have personal mouthwashes, floss, and a powder area).

Service coming in was very hospitable and the woman who greeted us and walked us into the dining room was welcoming and kind. From there, I did not note any other servers who were as attentive or personable as she was. Regarding food, it's prix fixe and options were extensive in my eyes since our party had a variety of allergies as well as picky eaters. Here is my ranking of what I ordered: Bread rolls: 7/10 doughy but good to hold you over Beef Tartare: 9/10 (Toast was dry and tough to cut through and even had one of our party using their hands trying to eat this dish but overall good flavor.) Lamb Porterhouse: 10/10 (Incredible flavor and cook on this. The only down side was how small this was because I wanted more with how delicious it was) American Wagyu Eye of Ribeye: 7.5/10 (I can make food like this better at home. Was extremely dry on its own and felt like I had to saw through this with my knife. Fava beans were bland and not my favorite component here either. Cheese Plate: 9/10 (Standard and they were very accommodating in switching out the bleu cheese for something else) Overall, the experience was something intriguing since not many people get the opportunity to do. They even had merchandise for purchase but didn't pull the trigger on that. If I were to be invited to return, I think I would go for the vibes with friends but not necessarily because I felt the food was phenomenal (The turkey leg is still so much better and unbeatable at the park). Also prices for drinks were also obnoxious but maybe that's to be expected in this park. Last thing to note for future diners, this place had majority of us freaking out over the dress code but the place seems lax on it since we saw people with disney merch on and mickey ears (which we were informed were absolutely not allowed in).

The Hobbit Where do I even begin?…read more This place is magnificent, spectacular, and truly majestic. Every dish is beautifully created with an incredible level of attention to detail you can feel the care, artistry, and intention behind every course. The chefs here are doing something truly special. This is absolutely a special-occasion restaurant: anniversaries, milestone birthdays, wedding dinners, or a once-in-a-lifetime date night. You will be spending a pretty penny, but that's because this is not an everyday Friday-night dinner spot it's a full culinary experience. If I had the budget, I'd come every week... maybe twice. Dinner is a multi-course tasting experience that begins around 5 PM and carries you through the evening you'll likely be there until 10 PM or later. There's a wine cellar, curated pairings, and an atmosphere that feels intimate, elevated, and deeply intentional. This place is clearly designed for guests with an elevated palate and a true appreciation for the culinary arts and thoughtfully sourced, curated dishes. For just my husband and me, we spent a little over $600 for the evening, and I can honestly say every single dollar was worth it. If you're someone who loves food, storytelling through cuisine, and unforgettable dining experiences, this is a must. You're able to interact with the chefs, the staff is incredibly hospitable and professional, and the entire experience feels warm yet refined. I truly cannot rave enough about this restaurant. I came here for my wedding anniversary, which is very special to me and I have a relatively young child and they were still able to accommodate this alone to me meant the world and for them to be able to accommodate to a small child was incredibly amazing. Overall, it was a fun experience, and I'm glad we finally had the chance to try it! The Good: Our server was outstanding. Friendly, engaging, and attentive throughout the entire meal, they made each course enjoyable and really elevated the experience with great hospitality. The Food: Some dishes were excellent, while others were just okay. The filet mignon was a great cut of meat in general, but mine arrived closer to blue/rare despite ordering it medium rare. It wasn't a huge issue, and it was still enjoyable. Overall, nothing was bad, but nothing really stood out compared to other fine dining restaurants I've visited. Considering the price, I also found the portion sizes a bit underwhelming. 3/5 The Meh: The cocktail reception area gets very crowded before dinner. There's only one small bar, so drinks can take a while. The bread and appetizers were served family style, with guests grabbing items by hand, which wasn't my favorite. We were in a private dining room, but the space still felt cramped. For couples or smaller parties looking for a more intimate fine dining experience, the atmosphere may feel a bit too crowded. Heads Up: -There is a cancellation fee for reservations. -Free parking is available in the lot. There is no valet service. -An 18% gratuity is automatically added to the bill. Overall, I'm happy we experienced it at least once. The service was the highlight of the evening, while the food and atmosphere didn't quite live up to the expectations that come with the price and the difficulty of getting a reservation.

Our server was very warm and helpful. For two of us we ordered one heavier dish and 3 on the lighter side and I actually left pretty stuffed. The menu is always evolving so I'd love to return, but for this visit we started with the bread and ham butter. The bread was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the ham butter imparted so much flavor. My favorite item that we ordered was the Galician Octopus. The thin slices were perfectly executed and the flavors underneath packed a punch. I would pass on the Gambas al Ajillo. While the shrimp were large, I found myself wishing that they had some char. The Summer Squash Salad was a perfect complement to the other dishes. I found the squash ribbons to be unique, the dressing to be light and fresh, and the inclusion of small bits of cheese to impart just the right amount of saltiness to the dish. Because we were celebrating my birthday, they gave us a complimentary slice of the basque cheesecake with a candle in it. Typically I'm not a big fan of this type of cheesecake, but theirs was wonderful and we ate the whole thing. Honestly, since it's inside a hotel, my expectations weren't sky-high, but the food pleasantly surprised me. I'd definitely come back, especially to try their brunch. The reason it's four stars instead of five comes down to the atmosphere and staffing. The restaurant sits right in the hotel lobby with no walls, so you hear everything--hotel guests coming and going, music playing in the lobby, the TV from the bar, and general foot traffic. If you're looking for a quiet, relaxed dinner, this might feel a little overstimulating. Also, our waiter (who was great, by the way) seemed to be doing the job of about three people. He was taking orders, bringing drinks and food, running payments, and even delivering room service. The poor guy was working like he owed the hotel money. On a Friday night, they could definitely use more staff. That said, the food was good, the service was kind, and I'd still come back--next time probably for brunch.

Ever since then, it's become a regular spot for us. The owners Sonya and Mike are truly what make Colony special -- but so does their incredible staff. I can't say enough good things about Shalene, Molly, Camille... anyone we come in contact with is always so sweet and attentive. The wine selection speaks for itself. Sonya does a great job at bringing a rotating selection that we always enjoy. There is always a featured flight that, a great selection of white, red, and bubbles, and they even have some craft beers available as well. There is also a great selection of wine to purchase to take home with you after. But the food. Oh my, you don't just go to Colony for the wine because their food is absolutely FANTASTIC. You can't go wrong with their charcuterie, and let me tell you they have the BEST french fries in Orange County. The daily specials have never disappointed and on Tuesday nights you can't get one of the best grilled cheese around. We love visiting on Thursday nights because the owner Mike does live music on Thursdays where he sings and plays the guitar. This last year, my husband got us their wine membership which we have really enjoyed. Every other month you get a curated four wine selection and you get to come during a window to pick up your wine and you get two free flights to enjoy when you pick up. Pays for half the membership in itself. My only complaint? It's not closer to our house... which maybe is a good thing. And I won't deduct a star over it.

To our surprise, we were so thrilled to see Colony Wine Merchant had a good sized menu with various options to choose from: small bites, appetizers, entrees and dessert. We weren't too hungry so we opted for the daily sandwich of the day and their seasonal soup offering. Every bite from both items was enjoyed so much. The soup had the perfect consistency of creaminess followed by savory tomato flavor. It had some delicious (and I think) roasted potatoes, and the side of roasted sourdough with roasted tomatoes was perfection and really brought the dish together beautifully. The daily sandwich of the day was also fantastic! We remember biting into the sandwich and it melting in our mouth. The bread was beautifully crunchy and the meat with all its toppings inside couldn't have been any better. For our drinks, we opted to do a tasting of whites and reds. The wines were selected by our host (if I recall) and remember enjoying them all. It was fun to taste not only different varietals, but wines from different parts of the world. I was especially excited to see they had a really great selection of wine bottles to purchase in their wine shop. I happened to see one of my favorite ones there. We ended up purchasing a sparkling wine bottle at the end of our experience to have with our thanksgiving meal the following day. The service was A+. Every interaction from when we first walked in the door, being seated, being provided food recommendations, was a great experience. The ambiance is perfectly casual with a slight elevatedness to it. You don't have to wear a cocktail dress or tux to come here but it's definitely a perfect date night place or to come with friends and loved ones and enjoy a delicious meal followed by great wine. We were on a time crunch and wish we would have stayed to enjoy an actual entree but look forward to being back in town and visiting Colony Wine Merchant again.
