I didn't wake up thinking "I'm going to eat at Johnny Rockets" in 2025, but it happened and I'm honestly really glad I did. My wife and I were going to a show at the House of Blues and wanted to grab a bite to eat before hand. Even though the Grove has a decent amount of food options, Johnny Rockets is super close and we honestly just wanted to give it a try after many years. From the moment we checked in at the front desk, nostalgia hit and the super friendly staff had us seated with drinks right away. We ended up splitting an order of french fries and I ordered what is basically a rodeo style double cheeseburger with onion rings on it. I didn't expect a bad burger by any means, but I did not expect to like the burger as much as I did. The taste of the meat, the onion rings, the sauce, I mean, literally every aspect of the burger was just really freaking good. Overall, Johnny Rockets is still a fun place to come and grab a burger. The restaurant itself still looks like an old school diner and the employees still have the old school hats on which is a nice little touch. The food here was really good and both my wife and I were pleasantly surprised by both the taste and the quality. My only complaint here is that I was too stuffed for a milkshake, so I'll have to grab one next time! read more

So a while back we went to Anaheim to go to Disneyland and what not. We stayed at the JW Marriott so we were super close to all the restaurants. If there is a Johnny Rockets and I have my kiddos you know we are going. This location visit was my son and I. It was in walking distance (my son would disagree) to our hotel for Vidcon. From the outside it looked like it was dead and I warned my son that it may be closed. However, when we walked in I noticed it was pretty busy. We were instantly greeted by a voice I couldn't immediately locate. Once I made eye contact I was told to sit anywhere. We sat for a few minutes and watched as this lady was like the Flash as she darted around grabbing orders, delivering drinks, cleaning tables and whatever issue came up. She did it professionally and energetically but with a calmness that makes you not feel rushed when engaged with her. If that makes sense. Food was decent and so were the prices. Wow, we came on one of the busiest Fridays, and our server was very kind and patient! It's a self seating, and the server will help you out by providing the menu. It was so busy, we saw servers literally running! We hope they are fairly compensated because they definitely deserve it. I ordered the smokehouse double with half fries/onion rings. Everything came in a timely manner. The onion rings were nice and firm, nothing was falling off and perfect crunch. The burger hit the spot. The kiddo and I were headed to the Social Distortion concert at the nearby House of Blues but we needed a pre show bite to eat. It's hard to go wrong with a hamburger so between that and the location next to our destination, Johnny Rockets was the move. Johnny Rockets is a throwback to those golden days of malts, shakes and groovy music playing on the jukebox. This is a pretty cool place to eat if you're a fan of that style. We walked in at sat at the counter, which was pretty cool because you could (mostly) see the chefs working the magic at the griddle. It wasn't that busy so we didn't have to wait long for our order to come. I got the Rocket Double with bacon cheese fries cuz why not? The burger was fresh and tasty. The fries were good but YMMV if the up-charge is worth it to you. The kiddo's burger (with grilled onions) got the thumbs up approval. Service was friendly and sitting at the counter was the way to go imo. I couldn't find a lot wrong with my visit to Johnny Rockets. Service is prompt, burgers are great, food is hot, music is nice. We tried the jalapeño poppers yesterday (soooo good) I had the Houston burger, my partner the bacons cheeseburger. Both burgers were hot and juicy! We really enjoyed our time. We were in and out of the restaurant in 45 mins. This space is rather small and is not really designed for large parties, my best advice is sit at the counter for the best experience. This place is hard to find but I'm glad I did. It's been awhile since I've eaten at Johnny rockets because their locations are limited. We were a party of 3 and it was about 1pm when we walked in. It's a small place with one server and one cook. We sat down right away and the serve was great. My whole table agreed that this meal was the hands down best meal we've had an awhile. The burger was fresh and hot and our chili cheese fries were well done and delicious. We also got the cheese jalapeño poppers and they were so yummy. Shoved in a small little corner you'll find a super small Johnny Rockets. Only one booth that seats four and the rest of the tables are 2 seaters. The service was ok, not rude but not friendly. The food is ok. Good place for kids because they offer chicken strips, burgers and fries. You can add a kids shake to a kids meal for around $4. Honestly exceeded all expectations. Was looking for decently priced food while at Disney and saw their prices and decided to give it a try. Maybe it was the long travel day but truly everything we ate exceeded expectations. Wasn't overly greasy, just great diner comfort food. It took an unexpectedly long time, around 15 minutes, to place our order even though the restaurant wasn't busy. Despite there being two servers working, they completely ignored us. Both servers seemed uninterested in serving us. Eventually, one of the female staff members, who goes by the name Rovy or Lovy and wears glasses, took our order. She appeared short in height and had curly hair. Unfortunately, it was evident that she didn't enjoy her job. I would advise saving your time and energy by not coming to this restaurant unless you want to experience the absolute worst customer service of your life. Our experience worsened when I asked for a new cup of water because the one we had tasted worse than tap water. Before this I noticed the girl pouring out water from a pitcher, so I politely requested a fresh glass. And later asked her where she got the water from and she lied to me telling me it was from the soda machine. Even knowing that she was lying i just let it be then I asked her for a new glass of water However, she gave subtle dirty looks and displayed an attitude as if she didn't want to fulfill the request. Eventually, she reluctantly provided a new glass of water, attempting to sound nice but with an annoyed expression. To my surprise, she then proceeded to discuss the situation with the kitchen staff, mentioning that I had asked for a new cup of water. They responded in Spanish, saying something along the lines of "yeah, it's because they're spoiled." I didn't fully understand their conversation, but it seemed they were complaining about us being picky and spoiled customers. This incident made me question if the staff here racially profiles people and intentionally provides the worst service possible. I observed that the same server treated two men who worked at the club downstairs with exceptional kindness and excellent customer service. It was quite ironic. I couldn't help but think that the entire staff here has a tendency to racially profile customers and offer them the worst service imaginable. Due to this appalling experience, I have decided never to visit this restaurant again. Although the food was decent, the service completely ruined the entire dining experience. This Johnny Rockets is located on the 3rd Floor of the large Garden Walk outdoor mall in Anaheim, right near Disneyland. They validate and make sure you have that done because the parking structure parking is expensive otherwise. The food here is amazing. They have the best burgers, cooked anyway you like, with a ton of choices of toppings. Their chili cheese fries are also great. They have shredded cheddar cheese on them and not that gross sauce that some places use. They also make the best shakes, chocolate being our favorite, but their vanilla is also super tasty. They have something for everyone. Their salads are very good and they have veggie burgers as well. The interior is all 50's décor and so cute. It is also spotless. You can eat inside or out and they keep everything so clean. They play 50's music, but they also have those cute juke boxes at the table and you can pick what you want to hear. It is just a super relaxing place, you are never rushed and when there is a wait it not long. We came on a Thursday afternoon and were the only ones there. Lucky us. The service is so kind and nice. One of the employees was standing outside while I was having a wee argument with my grandson who insisted he had to have Johnny Rockets and what he wanted and I was telling him it was not time for such a big meal. My grandson, of course, won and in we walked. The employee followed us and recited the order to my grandson asking, "Is that right?" My grandson was so surprised and so happy that he did not have to address all this food he wanted with me again. He had a blast. What a great staff. read more

I will admit that the store's location is a little odd and the mall it sits atop of is a tad desolate, but once inside the surroundings reminded me of a rock n roll diner from decades ago, and the staff was very nice and quite attentive. I accidentally spilled my soda onto the tabletop and within seconds the waiter was bringing a refill along with a towel to quickly clean the small mess up. He did so with a smile and was very nice while performing excellent customer service. We all agreed that the food tasted great, the meat and buns were excellent, the vegetables were fresh, and the fries and onion rings were hot and tasty.
