Outstanding Food, Let Down by the Service I visited The Cheesecake Factory in Anaheim on a busy Sunday. We waited a few minutes for a table, giving our name and phone number at the host stand. When I received the text that our table was ready, I walked up and politely said, "Hello, I just received a text from you guys--my table is ready." The hostess didn't acknowledge me, make eye contact, or say a word; she just stared silently at her screen. After a long, awkward pause, she asked, "What's your name?" without looking up. I gave her my name, and again, total silence while she kept staring at the screen....??? Eventually, another hostess walked over, checked the screen, and warmly let us know our table was ready to take us over. The first interaction was just strange and off-putting. It was an extremely hot day, so right after we sat down, I politely asked if we could get a couple of glasses of water. The girl looked at me with a noticeably annoyed expression and blurted out, "I'm not your server, your server will do that for you." While I know it wasn't her direct assignment, bringing water to a hot, thirsty guest, or at least passing the word along, would have been basic hospitality. Later in the meal, I asked a passing server if we could get extra cheese for our dish. He said, "Yes, of course," vanished, and we never saw him or the cheese again! Our actual assigned server was friendly and kind, but overall, much of the floor staff had a noticeable "not my job" attitude, giving the impression they just didn't want to be bothered. The silver lining--and the reason for the stars--was the food, which was incredible from start to finish: * Thai Chicken Lettuce Wraps: Juicy grilled chicken slices served with fresh butter lettuce, cabbage, bean sprouts, cucumbers, noodles, and three phenomenal dipping sauces packed with tangy ginger and peanut flavors. * Chicken Bellagio: Super moist breaded chicken breast paired with prosciutto, pasta, a buttery and decadent creamy basil sauce, fresh arugula, and plenty of Parmesan. * Bread: You can't go wrong with their famous brown bread and French bread with butter. * Coconut Cream Pie Cheesecake: Truly one of the best cheesecakes I've ever had in my life. The layers were unbelievable--a toffee-like graham cracker crust, chewy coconut, smooth custard, rich cheesecake, topped with tons of whipped cream and shaved coconut. It would be nice if we were informed of this at time of making the reservation but the mgr took down the time and confirmed that we were all set. I don't even know where to begin. I guess I'll start by saying that this was by far the worst experience we've ever had at a Cheesecake Factory. It started with being told there would be a 20-minute wait, which turned into almost 45 minutes. Once we were finally seated, it took about another 15 minutes for anyone to even greet us. When our server finally came over, he took our drink order and said he would bring us bread. We had to ask three separate times before the bread was finally brought to the table. When I ordered my spicy chicken sandwich, I specifically told the server that I needed to confirm it was only buffalo sauce and no mayo because I have an allergy. When the sandwich came out, it clearly had mayo on it. When I pointed this out, the server initially tried to tell me that it was just melted cheese. I had to reiterate that I have an allergy before he took it back to be remade. At that point, my sister-in-law asked to speak with the manager, Tyler, and we explained what had happened and emphasized that this was an allergy and could have resulted in a serious reaction. Rather than showing concern, he seemed annoyed and explained that they "do not include all of the ingredients on their menu." That was extremely concerning to us, especially when it comes to a major allergen. Regardless of what is or isn't listed on the menu, once a customer specifically communicates a food allergy, we expect that information to be taken seriously and handled carefully. Unfortunately, things didn't improve. When my sandwich was brought back out by the manager after being remade, it didn't even appear to be properly cooked. The cheese wasn't melted and the bread wasn't toasted/warm. I couldn't believe a manager would let that pass. At that point, I simply sent it back. Between the excessive wait, lack of service, having to repeatedly ask for basic things, and with the way my food allergy was handled, this was an extremely disappointing experience. He came and took my drink order and also brought me the famous freshly baked bread, basket with butter, which I love. I decided to go with the factory meatloaf, and it was a very good selection. Disappointing experience! I spent over $26 for a salad at cheesecake factory to basically only receive a container full of lettuce and a few toppings that included cheese, beans and tortilla strips. See pictures. The salad was also supposed to include chicken and avocado. I spent 3.50 plus for extra avocado, and I don't even think the standard amount of avocado existed in the salad. The chicken was very minimal as well and poor quality. The chicken tasted like process chicken rather than slice chicken breast. Given the cost and quality of the salad I would not order this again. The menu had so many dishes to choose from, so you're bound to find something you want. I just wish they have more shrimp options. * Calamari 3/5 - I love calamari and was disappointed in these. They were very plain with no flavor. The garlic dip was good and made the calamari slightly better. I didn't like the cocktail sauce since it had horseradish and a bitter aftertaste. * Factory Nacho 3.5/5 - These were decent, though nothing exciting. * Shrimp Scampi 3/5 - This used to be my go to, but I haven't had it recently and I think they changed the recipe. Parking - They validate your parking in the Garden Walk garage, so bring your ticket with you. Happy Hour (4pm-6pm, M-F) - They have some good deals on this menu. HH is only served in the bar area. I love the avocado egg rolls, chicken pot stickers and the Thai Chili shrimp (not spicy). Avoid ordering the sliders as they aren't very flavorful. Service - Mike at the bar was great! I would definitely recommend making a reservation, as this Cheesecake Factory is located near Disneyland and inside an outdoor mall. Other than that, I found this location to be significantly dirtier than most Cheesecake Factory locations I've been to. My napkin was dirty, my place setting was dirty, and my fork was dirty. Since we were seated at a 4-top with only two people, I was able to grab clean utensils from the other place setting. Our waitress was not great either. She disappeared for most of the meal and then wrote about God on our credit card receipt. It took me a couple of days to calm down to write this review. If this was my first time at a CF I would never go back. AVOID THIS LOCATION!!!! This is a busy location by Disneyland. It was a Saturday night. I have worked in the food service industry for 25 years. I know how restaurants work. I even know how CF works-I've done the research. Because of this I knew to make a reservation for 4 ppl@9 pm. I was there and checked in exactly at 9:00 I don't expect my table to be ready right away. That is fine. When I first came in the host, didn't even ask me if I had a reservation. I told her I had one and when I asked her how long it would be she told me I would have the next available table....mmm okay. They ask for your phone number and then they text you when your table is ready. And when I checked and I told her it's fine if I have to wait a few minutes, my party is still parking in the car no problem. I was totally fine waiting until the next available table to accommodate for was called. I was texted at 9:07. I was staring at the host and no one was acknowledging me and I probably stood there for about two minutes waiting for somebody to acknowledge me. I hadn't gone far. She spoke to me just a few minutes ago. And then she directed me to stand on the other side of the podium, which I did. They just let me stand there. The manager who who was a man wearing a blue checked shirt, was upfront messing around with menus or something. And I questioned why was I still standing there and I was told they were looking to see if my table was clean. If my table wasn't clean, why did you call me? I then said something like OK. I've been standing here for five minutes now and you're taking parties of six parties of two a party of 13 and I'm just standing here. The manager then proceeded to get loud with me and explained to me. They're busy. It's a Saturday night and I said I understand that I have a reservation. He's like well. We're waiting to see if your table is clean. We have a lot of large parties and I told him at this point I wasn't arguing with him. If my table wasn't ready, you should've called me and made me wait and stand for six more minutes before you bothered to seat me. When I said that the manager said he appreciates me understanding no you shouldn't be arguing with customers. A simple apology saying I'm so sorry we called you a little bit early. I'm going take you in just a minute would have been perfectly fine. We are seated at 9:13. We were not seated with menus. They had to bring those over and a server never came to our table until 9:19. When our server came I'm glad I ordered an appetizer with the drinks, because she never came back to take our order until 9:38. I couldn't remember the appetizer name when she took our drink order. I said the appetizer and she said oh yes, that is so good. I'll get that right in for you. The table next to us was also part of our server section. It was two people, and they got their dinner before I even got my appetizer. Our dinner came at 10:07. What? I asked the server where my appetizer was and she said what appetizer I said the brie appetizer and she said oh I forgot to ring it in, this is my first weekend back after maternity leave I'm four months postpartum. While I appreciate her admitting, she forgot to ring in my appetizer. I don't need a life story and a whole excuse. I have worked with many women after they've given birth and if you're not capable of doing your job, then you need to let your manager know that you need a smaller section. And if this is your smaller section and you still can't handle it, she should not be scheduled on weekends. The average time for a cheesecake factory experience with a reservation is between an hour and an hour and a half. We didn't even get our food until we've been there for well after an hour. We almost had been seated for a full hour. I'd also like to point out this was my birthday celebration and it was known.Our food for cheesecake factory standards was really mediocre. My fettuccine Alfredo was very watery. Korean fried chicken, dry, other meals fine. Because of the inconvenience, the server came over and mentioned I would get a free cake-a free cake which she said it 2x. I thought that was very odd. After she left the table, my SIL and my nephews who both also heard the same thing that I heard were questioning me was she giving me a whole cake and I said I don't think so. I think she meant a slice. Are we blaming that on postpartum too? It seems like the staff here doesn't want to apologize for mistakes. They want to make excuses. I thought for being part of the birthday cheesecake club or whatever you got a free piece of cake anyway so I got a free slice of cake so nothing was really done for me. They didn't make it right. Updating my experience with The Cheesecake Factory because this order was so good. We tried the grilled chicken & avocado club for the 1st time & it was phenomenal. It had a generous amount of chicken & the combination of melted cheese, bacon, avocado, tomato & a creamy ranch style sauce made it so flavorful. It was big enough for me & my husband to share & we still felt very full. The avocado egg rolls are still a staple for us! They never disappoint & the tamarind cashew sauce is honestly the best part. This was my first time trying the weekend brunch at Cheesecake Factory and it was super good! The French toast was SO fluffy and there were some other really fun menu items that are only offered for brunch that were fun to splurge on. I like that this location is close to the disney parks and that there's an hour of free parking in the lot here, it makes trying to eat in the area around the parks really easy! The vibe inside is like most cheesecakes out there but for some reason it feels slightly narrower. But the decor and ambiance is the typical aesthetic and I always love looking through their giant menu, I'm actually really impressed the cooks can make so many versatile items and they're all good! I'm grateful Cheesecake Factory hasn't slimmed down its menu in the recent years because all the versatility is what I love about this restaurant so much. Oh, we were also able to make a reservation here which I looove. I always prefer reservations and just knowing what time you're guaranteed to eat at means a lot to me and my family. I have to say, I'm a bit disappointed with my experience today. I made a reservation for 6:15 p.m. and, to my delight, was promptly seated despite the long wait for other guests. My server was initially friendly, and after asking a few questions about the menu, I decided to order The Mexican Tortilla Salad. Unfortunately, the salad was disappointing, to say the least. The chicken appeared to have been intentionally hidden beneath the other ingredients, and after searching through the salad, I found only four small pieces of chicken in the entire dish. For a $19 salad, I found this ridiculous. When I brought this to my server's attention, she explained that because the salad was part of the SkinnyLicious menu, the protein portion was smaller. I asked how many ounces of chicken the salad was supposed to contain, and after checking with the kitchen, she informed me that it should have been three ounces. The portion I received was clearly not three ounces. My server offered to remove the salad from the bill and clear it from the table, which I agreed to. While I appreciated her willingness to remove the charge, she did not offer me another menu, give me the opportunity to order something else, or make any effort to find an alternative solution. To make matters worse, she never offered my friend or me any drink refills, and her demeanor became noticeably rude and annoyed after I expressed my concerns. I understand that mistakes happen, and I would have been more than happy to order something else. However, the lack of effort to resolve the situation beyond removing the charge, combined with the change in my server's attitude, made the overall experience disappointing. Ultimately, I left the restaurant hungry and dissatisfied. For a $19 salad, I expected a reasonable portion of chicken and, at the very least, an effort to address my concerns. I ordered the house-made lemonade, which was anything but special. It tasted like regular vending lemonade except with a sugar rim. The Coconut Margarita was watered down and way too overpriced. Let's face it, The Cheesecake Factory was the hippest, hottest, busiest restaurant chain in town about 30 years ago, and, despite losing a bunch of its cool factor in the ensuing years, it's remained a reliable place to get a decent meal up to today. That's why my wife and I decided to grab brunch at the Anaheim location before a movie. It was quiet at this time of day, so there was no wait; we were quickly seated and quickly tended to by Adrian, a friendly, chatty, very helpful server. As always, loaves of fresh baked sourdough and pumpernickel were served with a generous portion of butter, which kept our hunger at bay while we waited for our food. My wife ordered the breakfast combo: nicely scrambled eggs with smoky bacon and a pair of buttermilk pancakes. Those pancakes looked pretty standard issue but tasted far better than one would imagine. Fluffy, with a nice bit of vanilla, these cakes were further elevated by the warm "buttery maple syrup" served beside them. Maybe not quite the same as DuPar's, but actually pretty close, and pretty terrific. I opted for two small bites from their newest menu of "specials": Cajun Shrimp and Jambalaya Arancini, both of which packed more spice than I thought they would, which was a very pleasant surprise (no hot sauce needed). The shrimp were fresh and perfectly cooked, topped with a very savory Cajun BBQ Sauce built with a good deal of butter, white wine, spice and cream. Fantastic taste, and I used the sourdough loaf to extract every last bit of sauce from the cast iron skillet. The Arancini were truly built from Jambalaya, a crunchy shell bursting with rice, sausage, veggies and a spicy, savory sauce. Hearty and packed with flavor. Really, a terrific starter, easily shared by 2. We came in yesterday for a slice of cheesecake and ordered vanilla bean, but were given banana instead. The person at the register seemed more interested in talking to her coworker than helping us. I also noticed they seemed to prioritize customers they knew. Very disappointing, especially since we were really looking forward to the vanilla bean cheesecake. A few days ago we met our friends for dinner at the Anaheim, Cheesecake Factory. We had a great time, this was our first time visiting the Anaheim, Ca location as we regularly go to the Arcadia, Ca location. The food was perfect as usual and the team was great as well. Our server BAILEE was exceptional. She made our visit extra special. She has such a great personality and kept an good eye on us, checking in on us regularly. She is definitely a people person, one who makes you feel comfortable from the moment you meet her. We will be back again to this location one day an again. Had a great night at The Cheesecake Factory! I haven't been here in a long time, but I was seriously craving their pasta, and it definitely hit the spot. We had a reservation for 7:30 on a Friday, and wow--it was packed. GardenWalk is already busy, and it felt like all of Anaheim showed up that night. We did wait about 45 minutes for our table, but we were a group of six, so it was understandable. Once seated, everything was worth it. I ordered the Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo, which was good, but I have to say... my friend's Chicken Parmesan completely stole the show. She let me try a bite, and it was SO flavorful and delicious--I was honestly a little jealous! Definitely ordering that next time. The rest of the table got a mix of dishes like the Taquitos, Ahi Nachos, and the Chipotle Chicken Bowl, and everything looked amazing. Portions are HUGE--we all had leftovers to take home. And of course, we couldn't leave without cheesecake. I got the Fresh Banana Cream Cheesecake, and WOW... hands down my new favorite. So creamy and flavorful--I'm already craving it again. Even with how busy it was, our server was amazing--super attentive, friendly, and made sure we were taken care of the whole time. Came here after a long day at Disneyland. It was a busy Monday night, but we were able to make reservations the day of. We had friendly service & enjoyed everything we ordered. There were many gluten free options. We enjoyed the Crispy Brussels sprouts, Bee sting flatbread pizza (Italian sausage, pepperoni, bacon, mozzarella, vodka sauce, Parmesan, honey), Farfalle with chicken & roasted garlic, Grilled rib-eye steak (medium rare with green beans and mashed potatoes) & Sweet corn tamale cake. The salad with apples & pecans was only ok, it had too much blue cheese & not enough lettuce. The food took a while to come out, but besides that, we had a wonderful experience. Wanted to get away from Disneyland to eat. Using the Disneyland Tram, was dropped off nearby to walk across the street to the Cheesecake Factory. We had no reservations but waited at a minimum 20 minutes to get seated. Ordered adult beverages and entrees all at once. Received our bread first with butter. Tasty but will make you full before you receive your main entrees. Lol Received all of our entrees with 15 mins. All was delicous! No complaints jusy content and satisfaction. The only thing we noticed is that our assigned waitress would go missing for a significant amount of time. All good, no complaints on the food. Can have better service. Overall it was very convenient going back to Disneyland after our meal. :) read more

Please make sure what you charge to customers, it was different from your advertisement. I got charged for my birthday celebration free cheesecake (not really a cheesecake). If I have to pay, I would order real cheesecake. I should check the bill before I pay. read more

Had a great dinner with the fam here during a vacation. The cheesecake actually lasted 4 days in the fridge and was a nice nibble at the end of each day. We were seated pretty fast given how many people were there and the service was good. read more
