I mentioned it before, I am not a big breakfast eater, so if I go out for breakfast it has to be good. And Mimi's Cafe is really good . Every time! I have had many of their breakfast items, but the Ribeye Steak tacos are my favorite. The waiter will ask you if you're okay with all the things that come on it... eater beware - the jalapeños are really hot! So, if you don't like heat, have the waiter remove them. I like heat, and my mouth was still on fire long after I left the restaurant.

The service was fantastic. The restaurant was clean and comfortable. The hash browns were delicious but the sausage was dry and overcooked. We will return to try additional items.

I began my order with coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice. The orange juice came in a frosted mug and was delicious. Nothing beats fresh squeezed orange juice. The coffee was very good. And just as a bonus they actually have Stevia. The waiter's name is Malik. When I ask him for recommendations, he gave me honest and fair recommendations. I really appreciated that. I've been to several places where I ask for a recommendation and I am told everything is good. That's very unhelpful. I ended up ordering the Tex-Mex skillet. Well, I just finished the TexMex skillet. It was friggin delicious. The buttermilk pancakes were OK, and the toast was delicious. However, just as a personal preference, I prefer my toast to be completely slathered with butter. I had to add three packs of butter to completely fill the toast with butter. However, this will not stop me giving a five star review. The ambience is comfortable, mostly grays and whites. There are eight tables that see four people each and 10 booths that seat four people each. I can imagine it gets quite tight on the weekends. However, on a Thursday morning it was easy to get a table and there was no weight for the food to come out. Overall, this was a great experience and I'm glad I stopped here for breakfast.

Although the ambiance is simple, the service is superb! My server was the most personable I've encountered in a while. She was attentive, friendly and accommodating. The food was just a amazing. The chilaquiles was delicious, however it is in the spicy side. The steak was cooked to perfection. I also enjoyed the hibiscus tea.

A great breakfast option in the area. I've been driving by this cafe whenever I go to my Filipino spot. Decided to come in today while in the area. Greeted right away as soon as you walk in. I decided to try their chilaquiles and it was as I expected it. Tasty, a hint of spice and very hearty. They also served freshly squeezed orange juice a multiple flavors of agua frescas. The staff are friendly and very attentive for everything that you needed to make your dining experience a great one as a first timer. Definitely coming back to try other items menu option as the this dining experience is a great one.

FOOD INSTAGRAM: @northtx.gemz **** WHAT THEY'RE KNOWN FOR: local hole in the wall serving amazing brunch food from American food or authentic Hispanic food. THE VIBE: simple and easy! Spacious too. PRICE: i don't remember but affordable. WOULD I COME BACK? Yes! I have been for awhile. **** Overall Rating: 9.5/10 - side note I miss @karissacarrrillo - This cafe was surprisingly so good but not that surprising because it has really good reviews on Google. - The jalapeño sauce Angel's chilaquiles came with was the perfect amount spice and had so so much flavor I had to ask for my own side. - I really have been wanting to come back here after trying it back in April because it just had so much flavor (both of our dishes) and I just love supporting a small business! ****

What an outstanding find! it's absolutely great addition to our breakfast rotation. We arrived with the initial intention of ordering breakfast. However, the steak tacos seemed exceptionally delicious and irresistible and we are all extremely glad I decided to get them! The service is outstanding here, and all staff members go the extra mile to accommodate different spice levels for Tex-Mex and other dishes needing heat. Their juices are a great touch. Along with multiple aguas frescas, such as hibiscus, tamarind, and lemon, they serve pure, freshly squeezed orange juice. We politely asked for a small taste of their tamarind juice; furthermore, they were happy to oblige. It was a great refresher after a tasty, big meal because of its balance of sweet and tart. Definitely coming back to try other items from the menu when in the area for a quick meal.

Tried a new breakfast place and loved it! Place was pretty quiet on a Monday morning. Servers were very friendly and helpful. Full menu for breakfast lunch and dinner. Ordered salmon/avocado toast with fruit and it was fresh and delicious! Will definitely come again.

Our event coordinator had already been in contact with each hotel's sales team regarding room blocks, but my fiancé and I wanted to personally see the properties before recommending them to 30-40 hotel room blocks. Although we arrived after sales office hours, Liz at the front desk was exceptionally kind. She walked us through the restaurants commonly used for private events, explained the renovation timeline, and invited us to take our time exploring before returning to the front desk to view a standard guest room. Unfortunately, our experience changed when another employee, who later identified himself as Clayton, a manager, stepped in. It appeared he had been listening to our conversation but had not introduced himself. He abruptly informed us that we would not be able to view a room. We explained that our event coordinator was already working with the sales manager regarding room blocks and pricing, and that we were simply trying to ensure we felt confident recommending the hotel to our family and friends. Despite understanding the situation, he remained unwilling to accommodate the request. His only suggestion was that we purchase a room if we wanted to see one. For us, this interaction spoke volumes. Hospitality isn't just about beautiful rooms--it's about making potential guests feel welcomed and valued. If this was the experience we received as prospective clients considering multiple wedding events and dozens of room nights, it gave us pause about what our guests might experience. As a result, we will likely to move our room block, welcome dinner, Saturday event, and Sunday brunch where we're met with warmth, flexibility, and genuine hospitality from the moment we arrive. The Joule is undeniably a beautiful property, but customer service plays a major role in our decision-making. Unfortunately, this experience left us feeling that our business was neither appreciated nor wanted.

I hit the jackpot gem with Bucket and Rope. This place is just off the main areas in downtown near the Dallas Farmer's Market. The patrons are mostly locals who know what's up. The layout is spacious but welcoming. I sat at the bar as I was solo, but there were plenty of great seating options including comfortable couches. The patio is currently being re-done, but will be perfect for the upcoming fall season. The menu offerings were plentiful and varied, but there are specials and rotating options as well. Alexa at the bar greeted me, and went over the menu and specials with me. She did a great job making my cocktails and giving casual conversation throughout. I ordered the off-menu Steak Frites with broccolini and fries. The steak was charred perfectly on the outside and moist and at the lovely medium temp on the inside. The broccolini was on point with just a bit of spice from the red pepper. Fries were shoestring style, and they did it right with that perfect crisp on the outside and soft inside.
