We got the raspberry croissant, an eclair, and a potato pro(something)- I forgot the name:( They were all so delicious! The raspberry croissant was the best ever; not only was the bread excellent and pretty- it had an actual delicious & flavorful raspberry filling! The Potato Pro(something- I'm so sorry!) was also really delicious. The bread itself looked a bit more like a loaf but the slightly sweet buttery flavor was amazing! The potato filling it's self balanced that sweetness with a kick of a spice blend. Beautiful and elegant coffee shop with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The owner is incredibly kind, friendly, and always greets customers with a smile. We visited to celebrate my friend's birthday, and he surprised us by bringing a candle and singing with us without us even asking. Overall this is a lovely bakery with some delicious options. We stopped in and were greeted by the very helpful team behind the counter. After looking through all the options we decided on a Baklava as well as a rolled cake. The rolled cake was super tasty and had an outstanding Pistachio flavor with delicious cream and fresh berries. The Baklava was definitely of a high quality but lacked a depth of flavor. It was light and fresh but I would have appreciated some additional flavorings. I really wanted to love Selda Bakery, like so many other reviewers. But sadly, I wasn't able to go above 3 stars. I found that although the restaurant itself and the goods they sell are overall quite beautiful, I really didn't see items that I would actually buy. I felt the prices were soooo overpriced. Finally saw some plain croissants marked at $4.90 and ended up ordering one plain. The girl assisting asked if we wanted anything else and pointed to a rolling tray that had a bunch of filled croissant behind the counter. I asked what flavors and I know there was chocolate or strawberry and so I also ordered a strawberry croissant. The strawberry croissant only had a strawberry flavored filling inside, with only one slice of real strawberry on top. It was just okay. It's really strange because my plain croissant rang up for $5.00 (even), although the display price tag said $4.90. I guess they round up? Since I ordered the strawberry croissant that wasn't yet stocked in the case and I never saw the price tag, it rang up as $6.00. My total receipt listed plain croissant $5.00 + strawberry croissant $6.00 = $11.00, then showed 0 tax but my bill came to $12.00. ??? I'm so confused??? The croissants were good, but no where close to being the best I ever had. I enjoy the plain butter croissants at La Madeleine and they are only $3.49 and they are nice and flaky and might even taste better than these. So, for $1.50 savings I don't think I need to return here. Shoot, I can buy a 6 pack of large croissants at HEB for $6.98 and they are really good. I will say that the packaging materials are VERY nice and probably very expensive. But why would they spend so much on something that it just going to be thrown in the trash!?! I mean, a 4 color embossed box for my 2 take out croissants and a color shopping bag. They do include a wet cloth that has a nice scent inside a package, which was way better than a napkin in my opinion. Selda Bakery recently opened in the Dal Riche shopping center at the southeast corner of Coit and Belt Line in Richardson, TX. I met my group here on a Saturday morning. We were initially sitting at a couple of tables. Some had ordered drinks, some had indulged in a pastry, and others chose not to get anything. We were asked to relocate to the plush pink couches since it was 11 a.m. and the bakery wanted to reserve the tables for customers wanting to order breakfast. Honestly, I didn't even know that was an option because no waitstaff visited our table to provide me with a menu. My understanding is that if you want food or drink, you go to the counter to select, order, and pay. In fact, this is what I did. I got the pistachio croissant and a hot chocolate. Both were presented beautifully. The croissant was large and fluffy with bits of green cream oozing from the filling hole at the top. It was dusted with powdered sugar and had small buts of pistachio too. I was given a fork and a plate and carried it to the couch area. It was impossible to eat with just a fork. Another in my group got a knife and attempted to cut bite size pieces. In the end, we both ended up picking up our croissants and eating them by hand. I had little flakes of filo all over my chest. It's a messy affair, but delicious. The hot cocoa was served with mini marshmallows and a rim of sugary green pistachio dust. The chocolate filled pirouette on top could be used as a stir stick, but I simply ate it as is. The covered rim made a mess of my mouth. There is no way to eat and drink elegantly here. There will be crumbs! I would not recommend this place for large groups. It's a great place to meet a friend or two for a drink and perhaps indulge in one of their desserts. They have tables lined along the big picture window both inside and outside. Considering how extreme the weather in north Texas is most of the year, most people will probably be dining inside. The outside table area has a nice fence and plants around it to separate it from the sidewalk. Visually, the place is relaxed and appealing, even when it is busy. read more

*** warning !!! Long one. First time stepping into Selda Bakery... I almost needed to call 911 for a panic attack just kidding. I seriously thought I had walked straight into heaven. The moment I walked in, those beautiful glass displays filled with desserts--so many S's (sweet, stunning, spectacular!)--welcomed my tired eyes. Instantly, my exhaustion disappeared. Magic. We got cozy on the couches, then did a full walk-around to check out our options. Of course, our eyes were way bigger than our stomachs... always. At first, we thought, "Okay, we'll each get two desserts and share." There were five of us. Thankfully, one of us knocked some sense into the group real quick --we each got one. Smart move. Some of us ordered coffee, others tea, and we shared everything. Portions are generous! The desserts were not overly sweet, just how we like it. The manager and staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming--so much so that we stayed for five hours! And yes... we came back the next week... and then again. Safe to say, this is becoming our regular spot. Hopefully they don't get tired of us! Overall, everything we tried was good. My personal favorite: the ground beef gözleme--it reminded me of Indonesian martabak telur (minus the egg). So good. The ice cream wasn't really my thing, but the gluten-free pistachio roll cake? Wow. It actually beat the pistachio crème cake and the Oreo chocolate cake--and I'm usually a chocolate cake person! It has a light, airy texture, almost like a pavlova, probably made with egg whites. The Turkish delight was... well, delightful--perfectly sweet, not overpowering. And the Turkish coffee? Let's just say my "Brad Pitt" made it perfectly --not too strong, not too bitter, and even better with those tiny chocolates on the side. Honestly, what's not to love about Selda Bakery? Also, seating was limited , we couldn't sit at any table we wanted since we only ordered pastries and not full meals. I am wowed by Selda Bakery for many reasons. First, the place is visually stunning too ok he a bakery. Beautiful gold lighting hanging all throughout the space, fun modern furniture in soft colors, trees created in multiple places within the bakery, and a stuffed tiger. It's fun, hip, and trendy. The employees are all very nice and happy to help you make a selection. A couple in front of me was tasting some sweets before buying. Just a great overall atmosphere! The ambiance of this place was very pretty, yet comfortable. You can sit here and yap do over an hour like me and my gf did lol we ordered a pistachio mouse cake to share since we both had never been here and honestly ? It was extremely good. I'm not the biggest fan of pistachios -- not enough to like, have it in a cake lol -- but i actually really enjoyed it ! Absolutely horrendous service from staff. Been to this location multiple times since open and one thing I notice here is that they are notoriously bad at taking orders from waiting customers. My friends and I have had multiple issues with tracking who paid for what dessert or what meal because you cannot get the simplicity of using a kiosk checkout process. The lack of professionalism is also a great issue here. In the earlier days of being open, they would tell customers who came in 30 to 40 minutes prior to their posted close time -- 2 AM originally before they shifted hours -- to leave because the inside was not busy and they wanted to close early. The managers have been seen lecturing other workers while customers are present. This is totally unacceptable for both employees and paying customers to witness. The food is very overpriced for certain desserts and definitely outlandish for the Turkish Breakfast, which used to be $29.95 (see picture for proof) and is now $99. The food is mediocre compared to the abundance of Turkish restaurants in the DFW area. The tea is not great and tastes almost stale most nights, lacking clarity and flavor. I also had an experience where I sat inside for about 15 minutes before anyone came to my table to take my order, and that was only after I flagged them down. So many yummy items, when I walked in at 4 pm not busy but no one working seemed to acknowledge me. I had to ask someone to help me even though customers coming in after me got a lot of attention. This classy new bakery with a great vibe has now opened in Richardson at the corner of Coit Rd & Beltline. I visited tonight and the owner told me this was there 5th "official" day open. Very DISAPPOINTED with the pricing transparency here. The menu clearly listed chicken and waffles at $18.95, yet I was charged more per plate, and the omelette was listed around $11 but came out to over $14 on the bill. Lattes are $4.95 BUT was charged $5.94 That's very misleading. If prices have increased, the menu needs to be updated. Customers shouldn't have to question whether they're being overcharged. I don't mind paying for good food, but I do mind being charged more than what's advertised. Definitely check your bill carefully read more

I was excited to try Selda Bakery since it's new in Richardson and I enjoy visiting cafés, but unfortunately the experience was disappointing. We were seated within a few minutes of arriving, but after that things fell apart. No waiter greeted us or took our order. About 20 minutes later, someone dropped off two waters without saying anything or checking on us. Staff members seemed to be moving around, but there was no clear organization or service flow. After waiting over 30 minutes with no real interaction from the staff, we decided to leave. Because of the service issues, we never had the chance to try the food, so I can't comment on the quality. However, based on this visit, I wouldn't recommend going until they improve their workflow and customer service. :( read more

The vanilla coconut creme filled cake was a wonderful surprise to the senses, fresh flavor of the creamy smooth filling and the cake and the cookie crust gave you the full range of textures. OK when you are out and about and you're wondering, what are you going to eat for dinner? That's problematic, but I saw Selda online one day and I thought it was further down in downtown Dallas. Man, I was wrong it's right here in the Dallas Richardson Neighbourhood. I am so glad that I stopped and I thought I was just going to go and get a pastry or something to satisfy the sweet too, but then I looked at their menu and they had main courses. I stayed for dinner. The hostess seated me and I began to look at the menu and I saw lamb chops and I said no my eyes got bigger than my stomach so I settled on the spaghetti with beef Bolognese. So I started with the Turkish tea and before I knew it, my spaghetti was sitting in front of me. I couldn't help myself for looking around and looking at everything within the store. It was just calming, soothing atmosphere.. there was music playing, but it wasn't over the top, but you could hear people having conversation so it was a very soothing atmosphere. The wait staff is so wonderful, very personable very likable. I say that not sure if certain people have certain areas to wait on but I think that was the only little misstep and I do mean little is knowing who's waiting on who or who is serving who but I think it's a team effort which I did not mind I was taken care of. Let me go back to the food the spaghetti Bolognese has flavor not over salted. It was just the right amount of seasoning and flavor. It was excellent. I ate the whole thing. The only thing I wish that they would offer some sort of bread I had to ask for bread, but I think that is a typical American thing that we have to have some sort of bread with our meal and this is a Turkish bakery. Let me say that and it's wonderful. Well, then I hit the desserts cabinets full of different varieties of baklava so many warm, pastries that they even had warm, pastries and chilled pastries. I had a opportunity to taste the apple something I can't remember, but it was an apple cookie something like that, but it was absolutely wonderful. It was apples in a pastry with nuts on it and it was absolutely wonderful, but I eventually chose the lemon cheesecake OMG!! This cheesecake was so light it tasted as if I was eating a lemon custard ice cream that's what it reminded me of it was fresh the berries it was absolutely wonderful. We are a big fan of Selda and have been dining with them since 2020, so we were really excited when they opened up a bakery! I love that they have so much to choose from! There seems to be a lack of places to sit down, drink coffee and eat dessert around Dallas so this definitely fills a void. I visited Selda Barkery today with my sister after a workout. The place itself is nice and has a good atmosphere, but unfortunately, the service was one of the worst I've ever experienced. I have never felt so ignored in my life. The staff kept looking at us in a strange way, and no one made any real effort to attend to us. When a girl finally came to bring my coffee, I told her I wanted to order something else. Instead of helping me, she mentioned it to who I assume was the manager, right in front of me -- and that person repeatedly walked past our table and completely ignored us. After waiting and feeling uncomfortable for far too long, I decided to get up and leave. It was honestly a very unpleasant experience. I usually enjoy visiting small, cozy coffee shops, but this place completely missed the mark when it comes to customer service. I would not come back.
