The owners were senior citizens and knew how to make you feel appreciated. Great conversationist too. There closure was a lost to the community. Mimo's is now our go to jewelry store. The owner is professional yet friendly. He was able to take care of my husband's request and explained I would have to leave my 3 items, that would be available that evening or the next day. He hand-crafted a gorgeous ring for my partner that they will get to wear for the rest of our lives. He did an incredible job paying attention to detail. Upon first receiving the ring, I was thrilled, however, my wife was concerned about some minor details. When I came back to the shop with the ring, Mimo offered, without question or fighting, to fix the details that they wanted so that we could have the perfect ring. He even offered to give us our money back until the ring was to my partner's standards. He made the alterations quickly and my partner was able to wear their dream ring. Mimo presents with a calming and present energy. He was kind and empathetic. My partner and I are both in graduate school, have internships and work. Our time is limited and minimal. Mimo accommodated us and came in on a day that he was not working so that my partner and I could create our dream ring together. Does amazing work. Went in to choose a wedding band with my fiance. We chose Mimo's own design, the triple knot ring, both made of white gold. One of the small pave pink diamonds from my engagement ring fell off somewhere so I found Mimo on Yelp to repair it. Mimo was professional, knowledgeable and very nice. He quoted me a reasonable price and got the work done in 24 hours! He also tightened the setting on all the other small diamonds and cleaned the ring. N.B. At first, he thought the pave diamonds were just white diamonds but turned out they were pink diamonds. Mimo was able to find a small pink diamond to match the rest. Just picked up a new seiko from Mimo. Great customer service as well as pricing. He adjusted my band as I waited and gave me a few tips on the proper care for my automatic watches that I never knew. My husband and I purchased our original engagement setting at a DTLA jeweler. It was great till I lost 35 lbs. Now it was time for a resize. Went to about 7 jewelers (local and at the mall). They wouldn't touch it. We found out later that it was poorly constructed, and once resized we'll lose the diamonds. Feeling defeated I scrolled through yelp for a local jeweler. Then I saw the reviews and stopped over. There's no sales pitch, no sell up, but a frank education on the quality of my ring. There were some quality and craftsmanship issues. Mimo was patient, took his time to explain everything. Yet he was the only jeweler to say confidently that he can resize it with confidence. As we were speaking my husband decided to let me get the halo re-designed (upgraded) and the diamonds replaced for our upcoming Anniversary. We were told about a 3 weeks, which was very reasonable for such labor intensive work. But we got it back in 2 weeks. The price was reasonable and was actually less than most of the competitors. The craftsmanship, detail, and the process it took to create it was superb. He took time to explain each step with you. He has pride in his work, and it shows. The end product was simply beautiful, and it exceeded my expectations. The new diamonds sparkle more brilliantly in my newly designed halo. I'm just the happiest camper. Mimo also resized my wedding ring, polished, and fixed some small imperfections made by the previous jeweler. Suffice to say that I've found my jewelry guy. The search is over! read more
