I walked in and felt like a chump. It's a TINY store. But you see all of Mimo's exquisite hand crafted custom jewelry and elegantly framed photos of his other work on the walls. Meanwhile the owner is sitting at a jeweler's table fine tuning some piece or other. He gets up and greets me and asks what I have. I tell him that I have a lowly G-Shock rechargeable watch that is several years old. I explain that I had the battery replaced by another shop, but that the battery still doesn't charge right and that there's now moisture inside the case. He explains to me that once a G-Shock is cracked open, it's easy to not seal it back up properly like it was at the factory. He takes my watch, meticulously works on it for 30-40 minutes, dries out the interior, carefully puts the gasket back into place, adds a tiny bit of silicon sealant all the way around, puts the watch back together and hands it to me. I pull out my wallet, wondering why he hasn't told me how much his time has been worth. He waves me off and says "I didn't do anything. Next time." Can't tell you how many others I've referred to him who have had great experiences. And here I am feeling like a clown for waiting a year to finalize this review, and have kept neglecting to take my other watches that need batteries to him. Service like this sets small shops like his apart, and we need to do more to keep them in business! read more

My fiancé found Mimo through Yelp when he was looking for a jeweler to make my engagement ring and I'm so glad he did! Mimo does wonderful work, and we loved my ring so much that we had him make my fiancé's wedding ring and the necklace I'll wear at our wedding as well. I'm so glad we had them custom made, the quality is world's above what you would get from a big jewelry store or department store. They are truly stunning. As a matter of fact, I had already purchased 2 diamond necklaces as options for our wedding at Macy's when we went into Mimo's to discuss my fiancé's wedding ring. I happened to be wearing one of them at the time. I was browsing Mimo's jewelry selection while they were discussing the ring, and I saw a necklace in the window that was very much like the one I was wearing, but the diamond was bigger and it was clearly superior quality, no visible flaws, while the one I bought at Macy's had a rather noticeable one right in the middle. I figured it would be way out of our price range, but I asked if I could try it on and was shocked that it was actually totally affordable and right in line with what I paid for the one at Macy's which was on sale! When we looked at the two necklaces side by side, there was no question. I returned both of the necklaces I'd purchased and had Mimo make me one instead. When I explained why I was there, he said he would take care of it and asked if I could wait about 15 minutes. I'm guessing it was because there were people ahead of me. I am writing this review to be helpful. I have an engagement necklace (instead of a ring) with a 0.8 GIA beautiful diamond. However, its original style was too dull or even bad. The chain was too thick and the pendant was consistently flipping backward, so I had to readjust it every time. This bothered me so much!! My necklace clasp was broken last year, and I have been looking for the right place to improve its deign and fix the problem. I found this modern and clean design from the pictures posted by others. However, here I would like to share more details regarding the options and pros of this design. * Length: It is adjustable 16-18 inch chain. * Color: It has three options including white, rose, and yellow gold. Mine is white gold. * Pendant: The pendant nicely slides along the chain when you move. However, it won't be complexly out of the chain. Also, it never flips over. It stays on my chest nicely. This is the best part of the design. * Design: It is chic, modern, and clean. It really reminds me of the tiffany yard of diamonds series. I have to say that Mimo is very skillful and professional. I always knew that I wanted my engagement ring to come from a local craftsman rather than a big name mall chain. I thought my search would be easy since I wanted something plain without any embellishment. As I began my search, I discovered how difficult a simple ring is to come by. After turning to Yelp and searching through the images I found almost exactly what I had envisioned on Mimo's page; a basic band with one stone. The first time I walked in to his store my only intent was to get a ballpark estimate on pricing as I was unsure of what the 3 C's meant, what cut I wanted, which color gold I wanted, etc. Mimo took the time to walk me through every option and helped me figure out exactly what I wanted. I ended up buying a stone online and brought it in for Mimo to set. I went in one more time to approve the final 3D rendering and we ended up making several changes to it on the fly - I had no idea there were so many nuances in creating a ring! I really appreciate that Mimo was sure to get my opinion on every little detail before moving forward as there were a few things that I didn't even think about until he presented me with the options; he is meticulous. About a week later Mimo called to tell me that my ring was ready to be picked up. The ring in that box was even more beautiful than the one in my mind had ever been, and it was MINE! I honestly can't say one bad thing about this place. We met Mimo because my wife wanted to make her engagement ring smaller. He fixed it right away. So then I went there to buy my wedding band. He gave me a great deal for a high quality ring. We ended up getting my wife's wedding band there too. The diamonds he put on her wedding band are so clear, it kind of puts the engagement ring I bought her from elsewhere to shame. Then two weeks ago I lost my band playing golf.
