I'll be honest, this was not worth the hype. I had just got married and my husband and I were on a road trip up the coast. We had been in Santa Rosa and had seen a video talking about the only B&N kitchen in California. B&N is our favorite store and we're both foodies so we thought why not add the extra 3 and a half hours to our trip. For starters, everything took forever. We were seated almost instantly but the drinks, the apps, and the food took a while. We were running out of time since we got there around 6:45 and they closed at 8pm and spoiler alert - we didn't get to browse the book selections cause by the time we were done we only had 10 minutes to spare and frantically looked around only to purchase nothing since there wasn't time. Anyways - we got the boneless wings with Korean bbq sauce and that was pretty much the best thing we had. I got a bbq chicken sandwich and the meat was so dry it was pretty much unenjoyable and the potatoes it came with were super soggy. My husband got the feta and spinach turkey burger and he hated it. There was a weird flavoring to it. Overall, I'm glad we went for the experience and to say we've been but if I were ever in the area again I would sadly not be back.

Stopped in for brunch and book shopping and was not disappointed. Menu prices are a little on the higher side but I think it was worth it for the portion sizes, taste, and ambiance. The bookstore itself is one of the smaller ones I have visited but staff was so helpful! There is street parking available around the store.

Christmas time is a great time to come to B&N they have loads of inspiring books & magazines & Snacks

Perfect place to meet a friend, have a snack (cookies, pies, bars) and lattes and chat. The tables and chairs make it an easy and relaxing place to enjoy a conversation and eat something tasty (maybe on the mighty list)... I love cookies and their nutty bars... enjoyed lattes. Each of us got something different. It was afternoon so some treats were 50% off. Fast service, good conversation... 90 minutes of happy talk & Christmas shopping ... perfect!

While on a trip to Folsom, I was intrigued an IG reel about this B&N having the only kitchen setup. It was a beautiful cafe-style set-up behind the Starbucks, with as much slightly more seating than the average B&N Starbucks. We were seating relatively quickly. The menu looked like a simple coffee shop menu of sandwiches, salads, and pastas. But the prices were quite on the high side, as if it were a high-end cafe. We took our shot on a chopped veggie ($17) and a tomato soup and grilled cheese ($16). Unfortunately, the only memorable parts of the meal was the a waitress that we seemed to be inconveniencing by being there, as well as the thirty minute wait it took to get the food. While I should give forgiveness for coming on New Year's Day, it is hard to rationalize how we had to shout down staff member to order when there were three dining staff and multiple empty tables. The food did not match the price of the items, but I will respect the salad for the diversity of veggies provided. The Barnes and Noble space was really nice with tons of activity. But I don't see a reality where I can recommend hitting the B&N Kitchen with so many other great and reasonably priced options within the shopping center.

This salad was DELICIOUS! It was the Asian salad. Wine was great, ravioli was great, amazing place!

Ambiance: 3/5 Service: 3/5 Food: 3/5 Drink: n/a Price: 4/5 Parking: 2/5 We stopped by for the first time on a Sunday afternoon. Krysta was our waitress, and she was great! The food was yummy and the prices were spot on. While nothing was over-the-top fantastic, it was an overall nice visit. I would say check it out at least once! Cool concept for sure!

Met a friend here for brunch on Saturday at 11am. It is located in the upscale Palladio shopping center. Very limited street parking but then discovered a parking garage just across from here. I chose this place because I wanted a quiet atmosphere for us to catch up on the last 5 years and not feel like we were taking up space. We walk in to Barnes and Noble and the kitchen is on the right near the check out counter. There is a sign that says wait to be seated. We were seated within five minutes. The kitchen section is small (seats maybe 40?) so there could be a wait if it is busy. The menu has some breakfast items, salads, and sandwiches. She got the BLT and I ordered an omelette. Their standard side is "crispy potatoes". I was curious about these and was pleasantly surprised. They truly are crispy but not hard. They were fresh and not reheated frozen. Service was friendly but not attentive. We had to hunt her down to get drink refills and our ticket. I did appreciate that even though we were there for nearly three hours, we were not pressured to leave. Food was good but not memorable. Its a good place for a quiet quick bite. Great place to just be alone honestly. I would return.

Overpriced. Food portions do not match the pricing. 2 eggs, 2 slices of bacon and a small fruit cup should not be $16 - not even a bread option was offered. My spouse got a pulled pork sandwich with potatoes (way more food than I received) for $18. She said it wasn't very good and barely finished it. While my order tasted good. Lunch should not cost you $50. Service was ok. Order taken and delivered. Very little interaction beyond that. Was never brought the bill, so I just put my card on the table and another sever came by and took it. It's a nice addition to the bookstore, but will stick to just coffee in the future.

Barnes & Noble Kitchen is one of my absolute favorite spots in Folsom. It serves many different great purposes! I love grabbing a coffee and doing a little work in their coworking area from time to time, the vibes are relaxing and motivating. Their kitchen is also fantastic. The bruschetta, although a seemingly simple dish, is so incredibly fresh and I have to get it everytime I go. The service is always great, everyone is very friendly and helpful! Sometimes it takes a moment to be sat but I love practicing my patience so it's not a big deal at all. Of course the bookstore element is also great, I love browsing before and after my meal, and sometimes a little more than browsing! I've heard great things about their brunch so that's absolutely my next try. Overall, an absolute must try!

Barnes and Noble Kitchen is still one of our favorites in Folsom! Lately we have been into the burgers, my husband favors the Western burger, with sauce on the side, and I have been loving their special, a spinach feta turkey burger. That normally comes with fries which are great, but I'm trying to eat healthy lately so I get a side of Tabbouleh. So fresh and yummy!! Service is always great and we almost never have to wait. My only complaint is that it's time to refresh some of the seating. The wicker chairs are so uncomfortable and the benches are getting a little too lumpy.

Panna cotta pancakes. @Only1ChristineLu shut up

Surprise?! This is not a bad choice for a quick brunch and wine flight. $15 for a wine flight (wines were delish) and Panna cotta pancakes with strawberry & berries for $15 (was just ok) and you get to sit outside chill and people watch. Definitely a quick way to spend a nice morning, relaxing and do some shopping or go to the movies after. It's right inside Barnes & Noble and wait was not long at all. The staff were friendly.

Food deals include half off all appetizers ("smaller") and tavern pizzas (flabreads). Specialty cocktails, wine, and beer are discounted a couple dollars and well drinks are nicely priced at $6. We came around 4:30pm and there was a lot of seating available. The hostess was welcoming and our server Evelyn was great. She had a chill and pleasant attitude and was very efficient with our requests. Kitchen was quick to bring out my poke nachos, and our combo pizza and chicken wings came within 10 minutes. My husband had to send his lemonade back because it was carbonated, but they fixed it right away and it was perfect. The poke nachos was stacked high with crispy wonton chips and diced raw tuna with a spicy aioli sauce throughout. The buffalo chicken wings were sauced just right and still a little crispy. I heard the server tell another patron they can do bbq sauce or naked if you do not want buffalo sauce. The flatbread pizza wasn't as crispy on the bottom as I'd like (probably because of all the toppings) but the edges of the crust were good with a nice chew/crispy ratio. Overall, food was delicious, and at half off, definitely worth it, Since there were only a few patrons in the restaurant at the time, it was fairly quiet, but I've been when it's packed, loud, and lively. Iron Horse Tavern is always a good choice for lunch, dinner, weekend brunch, and especially for Happy Hour!

Thus cheered, we were seated quickly, even though we arrived without a reservation. Water, bread and menus came quickly. Perusing them to the background mix of contemporary mellow pop (think James Taylor and Van Morrison) and old standards, we decided on the petite prime rib for the carnivore (me) and sea scallops served over risotto for my wife. We each chose flights of wine to accompany our entrees. Despite including three wines per flight, the pours were fairly generous. Our dishes were perfectly prepared and came out more quickly than we expected, considering that the place was almost full. Our server checked back just enough and took care of any special requests promptly, even offering to exchange one of the wines (out of six!) that we didn't like for something better suited to our taste. The pace was leisurely which was fine given the good food and wine accompanied by the relaxed vibe of the live music. And the prices were quite reasonable given the quality of both the food and service. A dark-ish old school atmosphere added to its charm for us Baby Boomers, but even younger diners seemed to be enjoying themselves. As for us, we highly recommend it!

But how could I know that experience (and the service!! OMG the service!!!) was going to be so outstanding, that I would come back again the next evening to eat again?? The first night it was happy hour, with a spicy jalapeño mule, buffalo cauliflower, smoked Brussel sprouts, and a couple of beers. But the service was so attentive (almost too attentive) that we felt like we had to watch for gaps so we could take a bite or a sip in between folks checking in to see if we needed more food, more refills, or just a friendly hello! The next night was burgers, and brews, and bloody Marys - and again, the most amazing thoughtful, interactive and attentive service I have ever seen! And being a business owner, I can tell you that it's not enough to have a beautiful setting on the river with great views and a decent menu. Having servers, managers, bartenders (hell even the bussers had smiles and were polite and friendly) absolutely seals the deal. I really have no reason to go back to to El Dorado Hills in the near future other than work, but because of this single restaurant experience, I can tell you I am trying to find more reasons to return!

It's hard to say enough good things about Fourk…read more We have been to many dinners at Fourk Folsom over the last few years. Each month's dinner is a unique four course meal. Chef Jesse is a wizard, creating wonderful dinners with lots of locally-sourced food. Even when he uses foods I don't traditionally enjoy like mushrooms and blue cheese, they are delightfully integrated with other elements to create a perfect flavor. In fact, one of my personal favorites is now his mushroom risotto. We also recently hosted a small private event/wedding dinner at Fourk. Shelbie and her team were really easy to work with. Jessie made a custom menu with some of our favorites, and Shelbie created a custom wine pairing. Both were delicious as usual. We were also surprised because they decorated the restaurant for the occasion, made custom poker chips with our names and the date, and found a "Bride" fork, all of which was really thoughtful. Lastly, Fourk is really accommodating of people with dietary restrictions, whether you are vegetarian or have other preferences. They always make it work, and I am grateful for that.
