Braised beef ribs, mashed potatoes and peas.

I decided I would do something different for dinner tonight. Based on reviews I choose to give Bacchus House Bistro a try. We were greeted by a friendly and informative host. He told us their specialty was the prime rib. He further explained that the beef was local and farm feed and the vegetables were fresh. We were seated immediately and our server was Alexandra. She was an excellent server, personable, timely and not too overly available but there for whatever we wanted. I ordered the braised short ribs and my guest had the prime rib. We started off with the calamari and salad for an appetizer. Everything was delicious. The portions were generous. The braised beef melted in your mouth and my guest said the prime rib was amazing. The restaurant was decorated nicely with a wine theme, symbolic of the Roman GOD Bacchus. The establishment is bigger than it looks, it has various back rooms. Smooth jazzed played softly in the background which enhanced the dining experience. Overall an excellent dinner and I will be returning.

Absolutely loved this little gem of a restaurant! I took my mom and we both had a wine flight which was wonderful and big pours! We shared the Brussels sprouts appetizer which was delish. Mom got the braised short ribs and I got the scallop risotto. Wow. I can't say enough about the delicious food, the presentation and the appropriate portion size! We even had dessert and it was also decadent and amazing. I believe the small menu changes with the season, which is fun. The ambiance was so fun and playful. Its cozy and romantically lit. Ive heard they also get extra with the decor during the holidays. Our waiter was fantastic, attentive and knowledgeable about the wine and the menu. I will definitely be coming back!

We stopped into Bacchus House Wine Bar and sat at the bar for drinks. I ordered a Sauvignon Blanc and my husband had the Sazerac -- which was absolutely amazing. Kayla was our bartender and she was very friendly and welcoming. There was a live band playing, which added a really fun, relaxed ambience to the space. We didn't get a chance to try the food this visit, but they do offer complimentary bread and butter, which was a nice touch. Looking forward to coming back and trying more next time.

My very first visit to, The Bacchus House Wine Bar and Bistro, was esthetically everything I was told it would be. The service and server was excellent and so attentive. It was a birthday luncheon for 7. The one missing star in this review...my lunch. I really wanted to try the Chicken Lettuce Wrap...Ugh....if I would have only got the French Dip or the Risotto. It was a wedge of lettuce...not leaves to "wrap" the chicken in, and the sauce was a little too spicy for me and my sister...she ordered the same and was so disappointed as I was. It won't keep us from coming and trying again, but that was not a lettuce wrap. Next time.....The French Dip...Mmmmm

We love Bacchus House! Great live music and best prime rib. Small menu but everything is delicious. Also I love the ambiance and decorations for the holidays! The service is always exceptional regardless of how busy they get! I highly recommend it!

We've been eyeing Bacchus ever since we moved to El Dorado Hills but never had a chance till we randomly decided on a Sunday evening to check them out. We walked in with no reservations but were pleasantly surprised when they were able to get us in. The setup and ambiance looked a little eccentric. Huge Christmas decorations all over the place which were now being offered at a 50% clearance price. Server took our food and drinks orders. I ordered the Prime Rib & my wife got the Risotto. Both items were so delicious. My mouth still waters thinking about the juicy prime rib. I was very impressed. We also ordered the bread pudding and it was phenomenal. We are definitely going to try this place next time soon.

Came with a friend for lunch recently and had an amazing meal. We were there just as they opened but within about 15 minutes they were full...so reservations are a good idea! I had a cup of the delicious mushroom soup and a shrimp salad. I could eat that soup all day. Service is great and the place has beautiful decor. Glad to be back!

We dined at Bacchus House for the 1st time last night and had a wonderful experience. They were decorated for Christmas and it was absolutely amazing!!! The best decorations I've ever seen at a family run restaurant. The food was delicious also. We had the pumpkin soup. Yummmm I had the salmon with a potato purée. My husband had the prime rib. Both were deliciously. Our friend had the mouth watering short ribs. We followed it with dessert for a perfect evening out. Our waiter, Julio was a delight, efficient, and always came to our table with a big smile. Like I said a perfect evening. Thank you

Came in on February 14th with my date. Walking in, everyone made us feel welcome. And I mean everyone, the host, bussers, bartender, and our awesome server Tori! Tori guided us through the menu and was attentive the whole time we were there. You don't often run into great friendly service often. It's almost like a dying art. However, this place nailed it. We kicked off our evening with the grilled crab cake appetizer. Usually places make their crab cakes fried so this was a must. Delicious! I was recommended the prime rib and that did not disappoint. Cooked to perfection, juicy, and flavor rich. My beautiful date had the shrimp scampi, all the ingredients tasted really fresh. And man oh man...the bread pudding is a MUST. We were both really happy and glad we chose to stop by. Thank you so much!

On the urging of a friend the hubster and I brought family with us to dinner the Bacchus House over the weekend. The loss of one star is due to me calling around 1pm to make a reservation, leaving a message and no follow up call or text. I subsequently called seven other times between 230pm and 430pm with no answers also. Mentioned in their messages is to make a reservation as they fill up quickly...which was what I was trying to do. When we arrived at 530, the time I asked for a reservation for a party of five, there was of course no reservation. Thankfully the busy part of their evening had not begun and in we were seated. Our table was in the back room with the piano. Very quaint ambiance with photos of their alcohol offerings that were featured in local magazines. Our server, Juan, was very friendly and took our drink orders, delivered bread, and then returned for our dinner selections. Four of us had the Prime Rib and the other had their Salmon. As a lover of Prime Ribs and Shirley Temples...I had to try both. The Shirley was made exceptionally well and the ratio of cherries was perfect. All of the Prime Ribs were cooked to perfection and included veggies (brussel sprouts) roasted to deliciousness and purred potatoes (read mashed). The other loss of one star is due to the lack of soup or salad with the meal. Those are extra. Other places I have patrons they have been included with the meal. The Salmon dinner looked yummy and all of it was consumed and I am told it was delightful. Mid-meal is when live entertainment began. A very nice touch and clearly there were quite a few followers enjoying the performance in the bar area. Since our dinners were very filling, sadly we passed on desserts. Next time. All in all a very enjoyable evening and when I am hankering for good food I now know the Bacchus House is nearby. Keep up the delicious work.

Consistently good service, tasty food and interesting ambience. Good HH pricing. Great wine selection...tucked in an unassuming building you'd never expect the level of decor you're treated to...even if a bit over the top. But then this place is named for the god of wine and patron of the arts, so, it fits. If you're lucky enough to be going the week of Halloween, you get to see an impressive display of a personal wax museum collection that is hard to match. Six or more full size gremlins, Boris Karloff, the swamp thing, the mummy, flying monkeys...and who can forget nosferatu.

    Cheers.

Went last night 12/7/24, there was 43 of us in the back private room. It was my first time. I've heard so much about it. Our server Lauren was on the ball and did an outstanding job serving 43 people. She knew our names when speaking to us. I ordered a specialty cocktail, a salad and the prime rib. I will go back with a smaller group. Great place for a special occasion, so festive.

We decided to get a wine flight: I got the Rosé flight, and my friends got the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir flight. For tapas, we decided to split the Tuscany Hummus Bruschetta, Hot Honey Cheese Balls, and the Caramelized Onion, Goat Cheese Flatbread. There were a decent amount of vegetarian options to choose from. Wines were delicious and very smooth. The presentation of the food was great and it tasted flavorful and fresh. Since it is tapas style, the portion size is small. The bill with tip came out to be $120 which we felt was a bit steep for the three of us considering the small portion sizes and the fact that we left the restaurant still feeling a little hungry. This would be a great date spot and I would consider coming back for happy hour.
