    Fireworks Roll
    Simone L.

I have tried this place twice so far, once for carry-out and once for dine-in. Both times were great! When we dined in, we had the Fireworks Roll: Shrimp tempura, spicy crab salad, avocado roll topped with torched tuna, salmon, yellowtail, and spicy mayo, eel sauce on a flame. It was excellent!! We also had the seaweed salad and salmon avocado roll. When I did carry-out, I had the salmon avocado roll and Boston roll. Service is always great, the lady at the front is very kind. It's a little small in the restaurant but nice, clean setup. Food is always fresh and yummy!

Finally got to check out this new restaurant by the owner of Sizka! It has the clean wooden feel of Sizka with a casual flair from the takeout options (think sandos, kimbap, to-go sushi). We ordered the combination platter, which featured sizable portions of fresh sashimi and nigiri - our favorites were the charred amberjack, red snapper, yellow tail + yellow tail belly, unagi nigiri. But we also enjoyed the salmon, otoro, sea bream, uni. My only complaint that the uni was a little briny for me. We sat at the chefs: cohnte

    PinkPong and Sunset rolls

I ordered two rolls with "torched" in the description, the PinkPong and Sunset rolls. Both arrived quickly and I was surprised with the grilled flavor, which I haven't experienced with sushi before. The waitress was very attentive and friendly. The sushi was fresh and two rolls filled me up because there was a lot going on in each.

Cools little spot in the metro center. Small inside with just a few tables and a ledge with bar stool. There is a small bar as well with a few more seats. My daughter actually wanted to try this place before me and was the one who told me about it. I came in a placed my order to go. Didn't take long until it was ready. Reasonably priced. I ordered a spicy tuna roll, a salmon roll, and three Onigiri for my daughter. Everything tasted well. The Onigiri had slices a smoked salmon in it. My daughter prefers it minced. I would be interested in coming back to dine in to see how their customer service is. Overall solid for carryout though. Since it's close by I will probably be back.

    Pre order to go omakase

From the team that operated Sizka in Canton, they have now launched their new Japanese cafe & sushi concept. The space is bright, modern, and has great sandos, onigiri, and sushi boxes ready to go during the day. At night, they offer special omakases that you won't find anywhere else in Baltimore. The quality, diversity, and presentation is superb. I'm so sad that there is no longer a good sushi place available in the city, but will happily drive to owings mills for their amazing sushi.

The food was just incredible. My friends and I visited three times in one week!! My personal favorites were the tuna kimbop and the matcha bread Bulgogi Beef Sando and the Shrimp Katsu Sando. Honestly we tried a little of everything and all of it was so good.

Omakase was amazing, Jay was awesome and the service was fantastic. There were so many courses, so many bites and so many different flavors. A lot of fresh raw sushi, nigiri, some cooked bits, and soup and dessert! A lot of special goodies that I think would ruin the surprise if I said what all was served but I really loved the Sea bream, the Tuna belly, there was a scallop in there, the shrimp was a very new flavor for me. It's incredible how many fish there are to try that you barely know about or see on typical sushi menus and I would argue the world is missing out on the real world of sushi! But, it was certainly great and I would certainly do it again! I'm already plotting, in addition to, we perused the regular menu and because of how fresh everything was I'm very excited to explore the menu, try some more things and give this business more of my money!!

Came for a lowkey date night on a whim, and we're hooked! The place is intimate, super sleek and clean, and the staff were so friendly. We had 4 rolls and two Japanese beers, but we left wanting to try more of the menu - specifically, the many savory and dessert sandos. We'll definitely be back to try more! Highly recommend!

Extremely fresh fish, great service, good selection. The tuna belly melts in your mouth. Have been twice on my business trip so far and will hopefully go for a third.

Excellent service. The sushi was absolutely beautiful. The attention to detail was 5 star quality.

We ordered some appetizers, specialty rolls, and refreshments. Our drinks were canned with ice and very refreshing. Our server also made sure we had plenty of water. The food took a little longer than expected and our sushi came out before our appetizers. For the specialty rolls I ordered the Bruce roll and the Alaskan Beauty. Both were so good and super fresh. I say this as someone who is typically a cooked sushi eater, that salmon was so good! We also ordered the soft shell crab bun and the duck bun. The soft shell crab was lightly fried and crispy, but the duck was very dried out. The restaurant is beautifully decorated which helps add to the ambiance. There is patio seating as well. There is ample parking. Overall I'm looking forward to coming back and trying more sushi!

Since I moved back…read moreto this area a little over a year ago I've been looking for a really good sushi place to go to and this seems to be the one. Ordered a really delicious fruity iced tea to start with. Then opted to get the avocado boat as well as the Bruce Roll, which was tempura shrimp and lump crab meat topped with avocado and eel sauce and was absolutely delicious. The avocado boat, not so much, is it really wasn't what I was expecting it wasn't my cup of tea. The spicy tuna mixed with crab meat was delicious but I expected it to be mixed with the avocado and mixed with the avocado rice. Instead it was inside of an avocado shell and the rice was underneath with some avocado in it. It was definitely filling it just wasn't as I expected it would be and as I expected as it was described in the description on the menu. They say you live and you learn and I did with that. But my sushi was excellent and everything else that everyone else got looked delicious from the stir fry udon noodles to the pad thai to the other sushi rolls that others had gotten. We were all too full for dessert though the desserts looked amazing. Lots of things to try the next time I'm there and it will likely be soon. The food was reasonable for what we got and for the portion size. Highly recommend. Our service was very good our server was right on top of everything we needed kept our water glasses filled and was there any time we had questions. The restaurant was also very nice inside I had a nice decor even though it was mostly full over there it wasn't loud and you could certainly talk to everyone at the table and be heard without having to scream. There was a small outdoor area but we opted to eat inside.

I had the pick 2 lunch special, but decided to splurge on the Wayne's roll. It does have green onions, and they seared the fresh tuna on the top, which both actions were not listed in the description. I picked off the onions and was eating the sushi anyways. It takes a lot for me to return an item, because I don't believe in waste. I also used to be a waiter, so I know that it's hard when your tip is affected by the food. What did upset me was that all of the rolls were done with too little, and too wet, of rice. Every single roll opened up. The small Philly rolls I could hold together. The Wayne's roll completely fell apart, losing masago everywhere and making a mess of the soy sauce and the table. When the original cashier did come to check on me, I only had 2 pieces left of the Wayne's. If she had come over sooner, I may have returned it. She did apologize and ask if I wanted them to be redone. I said no, thank you (because you never know once they're upset), and instead asked for 2 dollars off of the total for the 14.95$ roll being less valuable than the 12.95$ lunch special. The other waiter dropped off the check without a word and walked away to wait for my card, without a discount . She ended up being the manager. She never apologized for the less than ideal experience, didn't mention that she knew about it until I asked her, and only said, "You chose to eat it anyways." She refused a 2 dollar discount. 2 dollars... for good customer service. I tipped the other cashier. I hope that she gets the 20% and the manager gets none of it. I'll never go back.

We came in on a Sunday at an odd hour (~3pm) for a quick bite because I hadn't eaten anything yet that day and was getting cranky. We were immediately greeted by a very kind and accommodating server who sat us immediately in a perfectly appropriate spot given that we were the only weirdo's expecting to eat at that hour. She then brought us all cold waters and menus, and was super patient while we perused it to find our sweet spot. I thought I would perish in this place if they didn't have the exact sushi roll I wanted given my level of hunger and proximity to dinner - I couldn't spoil dinner! I ordered a miso soup and searched long and hard before I found my Nemesis, and it was perfection. I honestly can't remember the name of the roll but it was so yummy I think it saw the light of day for about thirty seconds before finding the depths of my belly. My daughter absolutely crushed her roll and a miso soup, and I couldn't even see the outline of the roll on my plate. Then she brought us complimentary slices of cheesecake. I thought dinner was ruined, for sure. I was ready to throw up the white flag. Little did I know, it was just the thing I needed to make me even better prepared for dinner. Can't recommend Sushi Q Oishii enough! I will definitely be back.
