If you are looking for the PA authentic diner experience, this is the place. We had breakfast here on a busy Saturday morning. We ordered omelettes, hot cakes and eggs Benedict. Everything came out hot and delicious. The hot cakes were so fluffy and melted in your mouth. The waiter was humorous, even our cynical 15 year grandson thought he was funny. Had a couple bad experiences here recently. Called to place an order for a sandwich online and the online menu had French fries included. Was told on the phone that the online menu is incorrect and it doesn't come with it but I could get them "just this one time." Came back another time and we still had not gotten up from our table when one of the owners put a dirty bucket of dishes on it. Lastly I spoke to one of the waitresses who was in training. I wanted to ensure she received a tip. She was great. Not only did she inform me that she wouldn't get a share of the tips but also that training is UNPAID. Shocked that this can even be a legal employment practice. I would try Nudys for an alternative breakfast spot nearby. read more

The good, the bad, and the ugly! The good was that our server was so professional and friendly, the bad was the wait time on our food along with the owner/manager being extremely rude while paying. Not one word , not even a thank you. The ugly was the restroom. The one stall needed to be closed due to constant running with an employee coming into stall to stop the running and stated , "do not use"and the restroom itself was in dire need of cleaning. read more

This place grows on you. Minella's has become a neighborhood "treasure". I love Minella's because it's open 24/7. If you're in the suburbs, but you live that nightlife, this is a blessing. Families gather around this spot after church. This is the rendezvous spot for many all ages. Unlike the other diners I've been to, Minella's has exceeded in quality. But don't expect a 5 star quality food. Even though I had my fair share of dirty plates, utensils, and plastic coming out of my food - they immediately replaced it and it happens - I still enjoy their food. It's a biased review since I love this place for old times' sake. I haven't been to a better diner than this one. The have an extensive menu, and I started to develop my go-to menu: beef gyro. It's what started me from going to this place as a regular. Secret tip: if you order a meal, ask for the complimentary cheese danish. These are amazing fillers. Coffee is always fresh! read more

There is frequently a wait, but it is usually short and the estimate they give you is pretty accurate. Service has been great. Quick, friendly, and especially nice to Capitan Adorable. I have tried a bunch of new things lately, like a Lobster tail, pasta with seafood, zucchini fries, spaghetti and meatballs, various veal dishes, quesadillas, and several desserts. Great diner! I've been here numerous times now and have yet to be disappointed in a meal. The menu is very large, offering selections from burgers, wraps and sandwiches to platters to entrees. We were in town for a concert. After it was over, he headed back to the hotel for something to eat, but their kitchen was closed. We hopped in the car and drove down the road. We saw a chili's and a diner, and walked into the diner. Seemed like your typical roadside diner with a menu to match. We looked it over. I wasn't too hungry, so I grabbed some chicken fingers. They were fine. The fries were steak fries. I usually like them more well done. The barbeque sauce was a little thinner than the ones I'm used to, but it wasn't bad. Our waitress was very professional and checked on us a few times. The prices were average. The place was fine. If I was in the same area and situation, I would go again. read more

I had stopped coming here after a couple bad meals, but a friend scheduled a breakfast meeting here this AM. On the plus side, my meal was very good. I think the other 3 guests enjoyed their breakfasts as well. So maybe they have improved a bit. On the negative side, our waiter was very annoying from the minute we walked in. I really don't know where to start. This was once my favorite diner to eat at. The food is fine. The kids like the pancakes. Breakfast seems to be a better option. The dinners have gone down hill. The gravy tastes like it came out of a box. The veggies are usually bland and under cooked. I also think they are overwhelmed. Our silverware is routinely dirty. I know it's a typical of most restaurants but it's a pet peeve of mine. Servers should make sure that all silverware is clean when it is placed on a table. read more

We have been long time customers of here (20+ years) and have always enjoyed the food. Recently we have tried ordering online and have been disappointed two times in a row. The first time we ordered various items which included the spinach artichoke dip (our favorite) and it simply wasn't there. When we called they said they didn't have it and we tried substituting pancakes. When the driver arrived neither was there. This second time we called before we placed our order online to make sure they had the spinach artichoke and they said yes. We then proceeded to order online. When we went through the order the dip wasn't there. We called and they said they were out of it and offered us a free appetizer next time (but didn't take our name or number). The lack of communication is disappointing and they also didn't include any napkins or utensils. read more

We started out driving up Lancaster ave and I said I was not into Phills. Error! We came to Wayne and checked out the Great American Pub which looked good and it was a lovely warm, soft night - outdoor eating was a 20 minute wait, so we checked out inside - a room that was cold with a loud group and brick walls to reflect noise - no grazie. We went to the White Dog and got seats on their lovely patio but my wife just wanted a turkey burger that was only served at the bar and only at lunch. I said WTF, but she was not into a big meal. As an aside the servers and matre d at white dog were nice, graceful and helpful - the server said with NO sarcasm that he understood we wanted to eat what we wanted and hoped we had a good meal elsewhere. Just lovely people and inside they have many nice paintings and photos of doggies! By default Minella's got the nod! We were both stressed out, so I ordered a tanqueray and tonic which was a lovely, generous glass of medicine that my wife termed almost a glass of gin! She got some chablis which we both agreed was useful only as paint stripper so we sent it back and got 2 more G&T's. SWMBO got her turkey burger and I had an open faced turkey sandwich. SWIMBO got fries, slaw, and a salad with her burger, all were good. I got green pea soup which was flavorful and fine and also had broccoli and corn on the cob - the broc was nicely cooked so there was snap to it, the corn was a touch overcooked and not up to farm stand level but was ok. We shared some very nice diner style coconut cream pie that was smooth and good but could have used more coconut. Food was fine, service including taking back the wine was great and hey 6.50 for a name brand drink and just under 30 bucks for 2 dinners with various side add ons was quite reasonable for the main line IMO. read more

We stopped by here the morning after a wedding out in the Radnor area. This place was recommended by the hotel. The diner was busy for a Saturday morning but I got a bad vibe as soon as I walked in. The host was miserable! I said good morning and just got a look. I knew then I should have just left. I ordered the main line special which consisted of 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, 2 bacon and 1 sausage. Well the eggs were good after all they are hard to screw up. The pancakes were terrible! They were cold and tasted like rubber. The bacon was overcooked and the sausage was undercooked. The orange juice was very sweet! To the point where I couldn't drink it. My wife ordered the caprese omelette, she wasn't a fan. She didn't care for the texture of the eggs, she said they seemed half cooked. All in all $27.00 for a bad breakfast. Everything was rushed and the service was sub par. The waitress was rude as was the cashier. Everyone seemed miserable. 2 stars all day long and that's a stretch.. read more

This was my first time at this Diner. I was in the area for breakfast and stopped in. Staff was friendly and you get that typical Diner feel. Food was good. I ordered the basic 2 egg with breakfast meat and home fries. Coffee was on par with other Diner coffees. There were dividers at check out and their staff was all wearing masks. I also noticed the staff clean the bathrooms frequently. All in all I would recommend this spot for a quick breakfast meal. read more

A trip down the Main Line, and a spin of the Yelp app brought me to this place I hadn't even known was there. Oh sure, I'd passed by it more than once, but I suppose I was too distracted by the overall air of mild Main Line faux importance surrounding me to notice that a nice down to earth place like this existed here. Can you tell that every time I drive down the Main Line, I feel like a Delco guy out of my element? Oh well, on to the grub. The place is nice and clean. The service was excellent. But would it pass my new yardstick for good diner food... the French Toast Test? Yes, I have recently come to believe that you can tell a lot about a diner by how they make the French Toast. When it comes to breakfast, diners don't often screw up the pancakes, they don't often screw up the egg and bacon dishes, but French Toast requires a bit of skill, flavoring, and technique. In other words, it can be screwed up a bit easier. A place that puts a lot into making excellent French Toast goes a long way in my book. Nifty Fifty's does that in my area, and their breakfast reputation is top notch. i have noticed that different diners do different things with the French Toast. For instance, this place uses no powdered sugar on top. Or at least mine did not have it. Then again, I ordered it at 7pm at night. Perhaps a different cook from the breakfast shift. t was made from good thick Texas toast, and was made a bit on the dark side. The texture reminded me of the same texture I get when I make grilled cheese at home. It had that fried bread look to it. Not a lot of egg batter it appeared. Taste-wise it did just fine with the syrup. It was finished off with a couple of turkey sausage links, and the two scrambled eggs for a half-decent breakfast for dinner jaunt. So now, a mild dispute... three slices of French Toast, two turkey sausage links, two scrambled eggs, with no coffee... $11. In my area of Delco, I can get three slices of French Toast that tastes every bit as good (with powdered sugar to boot), a breakfast meat of my choice, and two scrambled eggs for $9, and that includes coffee. i suppose I'm paying the Main Line upcharge there. But all around, I'll add this place to my diner list. It is Delco guy approved! read more

Growing up around the Main Line, everybody knew what you were talking about when you said Minella's, and everybody loved it. So when I was in Wayne shopping with my mom last weekend, and she suggested Minella's for brunch, I got a blast from the past! We headed to Minella's around 11:30 on a Saturday. When we got there, it wasn't too crowded and we sat down right away. The menu is huge, and it took us awhile to figure out what we wanted to eat. To eat, I ordered an avocado omelette ($8.95). I asked him what it came with (since the menu didn't say), and he rattled off the list of ingredients from memory. I asked for it without peppers or cheese (peppers because I hate them, dairy because I am intolerant). It came with toast, and I also asked for a side of bacon ($3.25). My mom ordered 2 eggs and scrapple ($7). Living in Boston, I had almost forgotten about scrapple- sooooo good. My mom's eggs were perfect and the scrapple was huge and thick. However, my omelette came with both peppers and cheese in it. I didn't notice the cheese for awhile, because it was in the second layer, and at that point I was too hungry/annoyed to say anything so I just ate around the cheese. The waiter never asked us if our food was okay, or if there was a reason I didn't eat half my omelette. If I had been allergic to peppers or cheese, I would have been pretty pissed. Everything else was correct and delicious, though. The service was generally spotty, and the waiter dropped off the receipt while we were still eating without asking if we wanted anything else (one of my major pet peeves). They also need to pay more attention to custom orders and food allergies. That being said- it's a 24/7 diner, the food is cheap and quick, and Minella's is basically a monument of the Main Line. My wife and I were here this afternoon. We were at a few open houses earlier during the day and by the time we got here, it was around 3:30 and we were super-hungry. Given the time of the day, the place was rather empty and we were seated promptly at a comfortable booth by the window. The menu, if you haven't seen it already, is *HUGE*. It is hard to think of an "American" food item that isn't on the menu. Soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, pasta, seafood, ribs - you name it and they have it. Also like some other diners I have been to, they serve breakfast all 24 hours during the day and so there is a section of their menu outlining their many breakfast selections - pancakes, french toast, waffles - the usual. In the end after taking quite some time to look through the menu, we decided to go with a "double" Cajun Gorgonzola Turkey Burger, a short stack of french toast, 2 eggs, and sausage. As you can probably tell, the size of the order partly reflects our hunger *and* our inability to choose from this sprawling menu. The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time and there's no reason to complain. However, when it comes to its taste, the food was mostly average to disappointing. Since we had ordered the "double" burger, it meant that we had two burgers - not just two patties on one bun but literally two burgers! Both my wife and I had one each and found the tastes of the burgers to be worse than the average turkey burger we get. The patties were underseasoned and we couldn't understand what was "cajun" about them (I can swear there was nothing cajun). The breakfast items were somewhat better but generally quite unremarkable. I found the french toasts to be devoid of much flavor and it was only after slathering them with the syrup and butter that I enjoyed those. But then again, I suppose if I seasoned cardboard with maple syrup and butter, it would have probably tasted just fine! The sausages were however good and both my wife and I enjoyed them. In the end, it was obviously far too much food for us and we ended up taking some of it home. Beyond the food, we found the service (and servers) to be quite indifferent. I asked my server about one of the menu items and it was clear that she was not too familiar with the menu. It is almost hard to blame her given that the menu stretches to several pages (8 or 9 maybe) but then again, it doesn't speak very highly of the restaurant. Also, my wife had Diet Coke but that never got refilled even though she was out of it half-way through her meal. In passing, I note that the place also seemed to cater to a significantly older clientele. As we were seated by the window, we could see that the three parking spots with the handicapped signs were nearly always occupied and towards the end of our day, there was a continuous stream of elderly patrons. Perhaps there was an old-world charm to this place after all but that was certainly lost on us. In the end, I found this place to be very unremarkable and forgettable. I am not from the area so it doesn't look like I will seek out the opportunity to dine there again. read more

The last couple times there I ordered my fav Greek sampler. It definitely is not like yrs ago We also ordered the stuffed mushrooms which were fantastic.The salads were good as well. I'm just disappointed with the Greek items. The serving was abundant but the taste just blah. The cheese bread it came with was excellent. I would go back but not for the Greek sampler. Went to Minellas Diner today. I ordered the Rueben sandwich. It was the worst I have ever had. The corned beef was so salty it was the only thing I could taste. The juice from the sauerkraut made the bread soggy. I will never order this again. When I went to pay they had a sign "cash only". I paid cash and was shorted on my change. Indications that likely the sale was not rung up on the register. We won't go back. read more

Diners in the Philly/NJ area can be hit or miss sometimes. Bad ones are a bit grimy, food is regurgitated food from cans and the people who work there don't make you feel welcome. So it was refreshing that the folks at Minella's Diner have the Philly diner scene down PAT! Our waitress Kim was super friendly. Even made my wife a fresh brewed iced tea when my wife asked if the iced tea was fresh brewed. It was not but Kim made her one. Her breakfast of eggs, bacon and hash browns was yummy. I ordered my usual two English muffins with Pork roll and cheese and I was floored by each sandwich that came with 2 slices of cheese and two 3/16" thick slices of Pork roll. My eyes were so big! Usually diners slice pork roll paper thin because it's such an expensive meat. (Think Philly caviar). I always order 2 sandwiches because they are so chincy. Not at Minella's. Standard diner set up, nothing disappointing or exciting. They do have a liquor license which is a bit surprising, so there are a few different bottles of beer, wine, and some cocktails. The omelets and creamed chipped beef are pretty good, but nothing out of the ordinary. It seems the diner can get VERY busy during peak hours, but they manage to move people in and out pretty quickly, so I haven't experienced a wait time too lengthy. Don't expect to get a seat immediately during brunch/lunch hours on the weekend, you'll have to wait a little bit at least. While not quite the same thing, Avenue Eatz is two minutes down the street and also serves the same types of breakfast/lunch food and of a significantly higher caliber. This also means its pricier, the restaurant seats only a handful of people, and there will be longer wait times, but that should probably be a first choice over the diner. read more

I am very disappointed in this place . I am a regular customer that goes to this place a lot ! However I do order take out from time to time . I usually order the same meal which is the veggie quesadilla with added shrimp . The veggie quesadilla sells for 7.75 and when I add shrimp it's always comes up 10.75 however that was not the case today . My bill came up to 15.75 for the same meal I get all the time . I brought it up to the lady at the front desk and she said that's how much they told her to price it as . I explained to her that 6 bucks for 4 shrimp is ridiculous and way over price . I would never ever pay this much money for a veggie quesadilla with 4 added shrimp . If I was notify that the price was was suddenly changed I would not of gotten the quesadilla. Seated immediately, got coffee and water within a minute, ordered, and our food was there in less than ten minutes (on a Saturday at 10:30am) and it was delicious! So impressed. Every town needs a diner like Minella's Diner. We weren't served by Minella, but our server was incredibly efficient! We were not rushed at all, but if we need to eat and run in the future Minella's would be perfect! The food is not expensive and for the amount you get it's a good deal. I got a panini and it cost around $11, I got a cup of soup, fries, lettuce greens, slaw, a pickle AND my sandwich which had a bunch of bacon and a full sized grilled chicken breast on it. So basically two meals. My dining partner got an omlet, it was huge, she didn't know it came with home fries. We both took half our meals home. The parking lot is a little tight, so park at the Chili's if there's a line of cars. Accepts credit cards. Great for children. Handicapped accessable. The mint milkshakes are great. There is a counter/bar. They serve beer and cocktails, not byob. read more
