As time got closer we started searching pictures online. The farmhouse rooms had sheer curtains so anyone could see in. We discovered 8 to 10 people were going to be sharing 1 bathroom. My daughter has Crohns disease so obviously, that was not going to work. We tried for a month to get a refund from Expedia for false advertising. They didn't care. The ranch would only reschedule, not refund. Never got money back!

My wife, 13 and 11 year old sons, and I stayed here for 2 nights in August 2019. We chose this place because of its convenient location near the park entrance. I would recommend it if you plan to take day hikes in MRNP. Behind the lodge is an outdoor hot tub if you are sore from hiking. The owners (Ralph or Chris) will greet you when you arrive and transfer the keys in person. Breakfast is prepared in advance and placed in your refrigerator units so you can eat in the morning and head off to your first hike. If you prefer a social B&B experience where you mingle with lots of guests, it's better to look elsewhere. It was a nice place for our family to stay for 2 nights.

Opening up their warm and gorgeous castle to you, Kat and Donn make great hosts that have that unique balance of being friendly and leaving you to discover on your own. The rooms are beautiful, the First Light room, even at the smallest room, was still well appointed with a walk in closet modified into a treasure chest of books, movies, games, a mini fridge and food area (both stocked with snacks even!) water container, extra towels, blankets, serious, it's like a huge cupboard of goodness. Breakfast was divine, seriously, that woman should open up a restaurant closer to me so I can eat there all the time! We stayed two days and were sad to go, I could have been happy there for a week. They have a myraid of animals that roam about and we made fast friends with the cat and pups, having those as tourguides around the grounds was a nice welcome. But let me tell you, that Turkish steam shower? Wow. WOOOOOOWWWWW! As relaxing as it sounds. Maybe more so. Overall, I can't wait to return and with the great prices and fantastic food that comes along with it, it's a sure thing we'll be back again and again.
