    Coconut cassava soft serve sample
    Samantha C.

Celebrated our anniversary here and had a great experience. Reservations are super easy through Open Table. When we made the reso, only bar seats were available to choose. When we got to the restaurant, they saw we requested a table if possible. There was a table available when we arrived, so they were able to seat us at one. The staff also made sure to wish us a happy anniversary. Right off the bat, we felt they intentionally made sure their customers have a good experience. The interior is very nicely decorated. There are tables around the perimeter of the space and the bar is on the inside. The food was fantastic. We came here because of a recommendation from friends and it did not disappoint. We debated between ordering a la carte or choosing the chef's menu. We ended up doing a la carte because there were a few items not on the chef's menu that we wanted to try. We got the hamachistek crudo, tuna kinilaw, iberico pork collar, beef short rib kare kare and ube leche flan. Everything was presented well, explained thoroughly and tasted so flavourful and balanced. Our favourites were the mushroom noodles and the iberico pork collar. They gave us a candle with our ube leche flan and a sample of their coconut cassave soft serve, which was a nice touch. The soft serve was unexpectedly really good! Glad we came and celebrated our anniversary here. Thank you Mineral!

I came here to celebrate my mom's birthday! We chose to get the tasting menu ($99 pp). The actual menu has a lot of the foods that were on the tasting menu, which when ordered together, would have cost way more money than the tasting menu. We started with the cold appetizers, which were the highlight of the meal. The oysters are a must get, and the raw shrimp is super fresh. Onto the warm dishes, the ensaymada (brioche-like bun with truffle butter and duck prosciutto... omg) was also a highlight. The main dish was a salmon sinigang and my mom and I both found it so disappointing. With the price of the food, you'd think they'd pick a more expensive protein... and the main dish was just really mid compared to the dishes that came before it. The dessert was amazing though. The ube leche flan was amazing and they have rotating soft serve flavours... Ours was coconut cassava and it was so yummy! I think the food itself would be a 3.75/5, but the service elevated our experience. The servers were so friendly and attentive, and we even got a freebie dish in between our meal! TLDR: I think this is a really affordable tasting menu in the city. I think Mineral is worth a try, but I don't think it's a restaurant I would find myself going back to.

Came here for a celebration early February and we wanted to try the Omakase. The service was phenomenal. Nothing could beat that. Everybody was happy knowledgeable, and very eager. The atmosphere of this place definitely a chill spot to hang out good vibes good music. The food itself was flavorful. I think it didn't hit for me being a Filipino was the play on the dishes for example, - Lumpia interpretation should have a crunch factor to it perhaps crushed up lumpia wrapper on top. I just felt it to be kind of lackluster. It would be interesting to see if a solo diner decided to participate in the Omakase if they would also get family style dishes as the main entrée. Definitely something to try at least once in life.

The food was Excellent. Despite the fact that I am a celiac. They were very accommodating and accepted a last minute seating. The chef was warm & personable. The staff was attentive &helpful despite my many food sensitivities. The interior is warm & friendly with a large wraparound bar in the centre. Looking forward to returning.

I came here with my coworkers for my birthday. We tried the 79$ tasting menu. As someone who doesnt eat at bougie restaurants often, the food here blew me away. Each dish that came out was hit after hit. The staff were super friendly, the cocktails were delicious and unique and the restaurant was so clean.

Love the vibe of the bar, my friend and I were welcomed with a smile and had the choice of the table of bar. We chose the bar seats, and they were very accommodating of my tall friend (the bar seats are fixed). We got drinks and a la carte since we weren't too hungry. The drinks were delicious, and the bartender was super nice. For food we shared the Tuna kinilaw, Pork neck, and duck confit noodles. The flavours were all fresh and unique, and I liked the tuna the best. The duck confit noodles were super umami and filling, and the pork neck was good. I do wish they gave more lettuce with the pork! The spot felt very hip, and it was fun people watching from the bar- definitely a great spot for date night!

I've bookemarked this Asian fusion restaurant on my wishlist for a while after seeing some good reviews and finally got to try their dinner. The price is quite expensive (100+ per person) with relatively smaller portion on most dishes. Service throughout the meal was attentive and most of the dishes were decent. We ordered pineapple with seaweed, burrata salad, ensaymada with duck prosciutto, mushroom noodles, pork neck, crispy broccolini, short rib and Uber leche flan to share. Among all the dishes, the stars were the sweet and sour pork neck which was super tender, the refreshing burrata salad and the duck prosciutto. The crispy broccolini was our least favorite dish. It was not crispy enough and overcooked with weird flavouring. The pineapple kombu was a creative dish with interesting combination of flavours. Mushroom noodles were good but missing a wowing factor. The flan was also yummy with very small portion. The short rib was super tender but the meat was a bit stale. Overall, most of the dishes offer good flavour. It was a unique dining experience.

One of the better food experiences in recent memory. Great tasting menu that nods to Filipino heritage with a tasteful, modern hook. I particularly loved the salmon with sour broth that gently reminded me of polish pickle soup.

This is a fusion Filipino food is cleverly design, if you want to try this cuisine, it is the best to try it, classy when they serve & present the food, they will let you know what it was.

Booked the tasting menu to celebrate a birthday and it was such a great experience! I find that filipino food is not commonly seen in Toronto/GTA so it was interesting to try out. Service was great from start to finish as our cutlery and plates were cleared promptly, chefs counter seating was cleaned and water filled in a timely manner. The whole vibe of Mineral was cozy but elevated. We were quite stuffed after this meal and we weren't expecting to be so. The tasting menu started off with the cold dishes, moving to warm and then a fish, rice and veg trio, before moving onto two desserts. The Chef explained everything to us as he presented it. I was surprised there was more truffle involved in the menu, so if you're not the biggest fan, then maybe skip the tasting menu. I enjoyed all the dishes and trying a new cuisine. Loved the various textured and flavours the dishes incorporated. Mineral for tasting menu was phenomenal and i'm excited to come back and try other items off their menu!

One of my favourite tasting menus yet! The service was also very exceptional. Would definitely recommend!

amuse-bouche! really did open up my palate

Our favorite restaurant we ate at during our first trip to Toronto. Everything was perfect - starting from the interior design & ambiance - then the friendly staff, and the food! This is a Filipino/Asian/Canadian fusion restaurant and I love how innovative their menu items are. I would have loved to try every item here but my bank account would not be happy. I like how they start your experience with an amuse bouche (stimulate your palate). They served a winter squash soup I think? Whatever it was it tasted amazing. I wanted to have a whole bowl of it. We ordered the Filipino bread, Inari scallops dish with garlic rice and the ube panna cotta as dessert. We noticed this place because of the ube panna cotta. And let me tell you - it was one of the BEST dessert I've had at a restaurant. Everything from presentation, texture, to taste - it was perfect! We savored every bite. The Inari scallops was also the best Inari dish I've had. It was packed with flavor. Words & pictures can't do it justice of showcasing how amazing our dining experience here was. You would just have to come and experience it yourself!

Mineral is aesthetically beautiful. My friend treated me to this wonderful dinner for my birthday. The service was top notch. From bringing over a light to help us see the menu to cleaning our plates at the precise moments without being over bearing. Every staff was attentive and personable. They did a fantastic job hiring such a genuine team who look like they all enjoy working together. The cocktails were delightful, I asked the bartender/owner to surprise me and he did a fantastic job creating an unique and delicious whiskey cocktail. Food wise, everything was good but the stand out was the pineapple kombu. Such a simple dish but executed so beautifully with a burst of flavour and textures. The pork neck was soooo tender! We didn't care too much for the wrapped cod, it was good but nothing too special. The jumbo crab was well prepared but in my opinion it was too pricey, $36 for 2 legs. The mushroom noodles were quite rich and decadent, wasn't as inventive as I had hoped for. I found the prices were quite high but the service and ambiance made up for it! The staff surprised us with a ube flan on the house for my birthday, which was very kind and thoughtful. Overall it was an enjoyable experience. Can't wait to come back to try the scallop inari pockets, they smelled tantalizing! Food: 4 stars Service: 5 Ambiance: 5

Sansotei Ramen Review…read more Order: Black Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen Ambience: Sansotei at union station is more like a quick takeout /food court ramen spot than a sit-down restaurant. It's great if you're grabbing something fast, but the seating area wasn't the cleanest and I had to look around for a table that had been wiped down, which wasn't ideal if I am paying 21$ for a bowl of tonkotsu ramen. Food: I tried the black tonkotsu ramen and it was definitely rich and filling. I liked that you can choose between thick or thin noodles, which is a nice touch. That said, the broth was a bit too rich and salty for my taste and could use something to balance it out, maybe an order or Diet Coke. The meat was good but not as tender as I would like. Sides and Pairing Tip: I'd recommend getting a side of gyoza or even a Diet Coke to help cut through how rich, heavy and salty the ramen feels. Value for Money: It's a good option for a quick meal, but it does feel a little expensive for the experience you're getting for that price. Overall: Great for a fast ramen fix when you're on the go, but maybe not the best choice if you're looking for a more comfortable dine-in experience, or more value for money. 3/5

The weather in Toronto this week has been in the 20's and 30's! The restaurant does serve the dodgers when they are in town! If it's good enough for them... I ordered a Canadian whiskey to start off. It was very nice and smooth. I think it was a Sleeman and sons? Not positive but I really liked it! Then the food. I ordered the first roll from every section. There were some repeats which he advised me would happen but I didn't mind! The sushi was so tender and had great flavor. My husband ordered the ribeye steak and that was really really good. I would order that definitely next time and come here again!

I don't usually go for high-end sushi restaurants, but Miku has been on my list for a while, so I was genuinely excited to finally check it out. The restaurant is located on the ground level of an office building, but the moment you step inside the restaurant, everything changes. You go from bright, corporate lighting to a moody, romantic space with soft, dim lighting and a refined, intimate ambiance... it truly feels like entering a different world. Bonus points for the complimentary coat check, which is a huge win during winter when everyone is lugging around massive puffer jackets. We were seated in plush, velvety sofa booths near the bar, with a view of the street, which felt both cozy and upscale. Shoutout to our server, Shintaro, who was phenomenal with his warm, attentive, and energetic service, which made the whole experience even better. We started with drinks: my coworkers ordered sake flights, while I went with their signature cocktail, the kumquat cosmo. It was sweet and citrusy, and exactly what I needed on a Tuesday night after work. For appetizers, we all chose the sushi and sashimi selection, which included 9 pieces of chef-selected sashimi, chef-selected nigiri, and aburi oshi sushi. This was chef's kiss. The sashimi was incredibly fresh, and the sushi and nigiri were perfectly seasoned and sauced, so that we didn't even need soy sauce (though they do have a lovely house-made sweet soy sauce). I ordered the Red Wave Roll just to use their house-made sweet soy sauce... and wow. I've never had sushi that didn't fall apart after biting into it For my main, I went with the roast black cod. It was cooked beautifully, with a tender, slightly chewy texture that was rich but not overwhelming. For dessert, I went with their famously loved green tea opera. It's a small green tea sponge cake layered with matcha buttercream, red bean cream, and a hazelnut wafer crust, paired with a rich, velvety matcha ice cream on the side. Balanced, not overly sweet, and the perfect ending to the meal. Overall, Miku lived up to (and honestly exceeded) the hype. Incredible food, top-notch service, and a beautiful atmosphere.
