I have been at Ming 2 in Morristown three times and ate at Ming (Edison) for the first time tonight. Both are excellent, but prefer the mood and atmosphere in Ming 2. Our waitor, Ganesh was personable and provided helpful feedback on our entree selection. The fried duck in BBQ sauce is my favorite. The food was way over priced. 17$ for a chicken manchurian and that does not include rice!! 6$ for plain rice. this is open robbery. We have been coming to Ming for over 10 years. Every time the food is excellent and consistent. We always get VIP treatment there. The staff goes out of their way to ensure our satisfaction. I'd like to specifically thank Ganesh for his wonderful service as Jitu for making the best drinks in town. It's always a pleasure to dine there. There's nothing comparable in Jersey. My family and I visited Ming last night. We had a reservation for 7 pm but we still waited till 7.20 to be seated. We were almost reconsidering our decision to stay back when we were seated. We had tickets for a movie Nextdoor which was to begin at 8. As we settled this kind gentleman Ganesh came over to wait on us. The food was all good except for munchow soup. It was far from the best I have had. But this review is more for Ganesh who took such good care of us and made sure we got all our food in time for us to eat and not miss the start of our movie! The service is inversely proportional to price. You can see their attitude right from the reservation desk to the waiter . Food is greasy, and all the sauces taste the same. We went for mother's day. It wasn't hard getting a reservation the day before MD. They sat us down right away. Service wasn't that great but I guess it was a very busy Sunday for them. Ming, named after a chinese dynasty known to provide "orderly government and social stability" has been providing amazing food and gastro-intensic delight for years to their patrons in NJ and entire tri-state area and beyond.. It has been our go to place for Indo-Chinese food for many years now. Their Veg. Hakka noodles, Schezwan fried rice have been my personal favorites. Their non-vegetarian dishes have also received rave reviews from patrons. So, the food is great! But what prompts me to give it 5 stars is the experience that I get every time we dine there. So compared to other Indo-Chinese type places, their menu items are a 'bit' pricey. But I, for one, am not complaining. Because I guess there is a price to quality food, good service and a great experience. Even though we are just one of their several patrons dining with them, they still remember us, our food choices and the spice levels. A special and heart-felt shout out to Prashant, who has always been extremely cordial and gone beyond his ways to make our dining experience a special one. He even remembers the dessert that my 3 Year old ordered the last time we were there. It's the experience that many other patrons also shared with me. That's how they make us feel special, I guess. Plus having great food, Good portion sizes, great ambience and service just adds to the contentment. This place is wonderful! When you enter, it looks very fancy and has great decorations. The food gets even better. We always have the same menu and everything is delicious. The lemon-coriander soup and the Drums of Heaven are packed with flavor. Also, the Thai basil fried rice and shredded lamb are also part of our list. Last but not least, our favorite waiter is Prasanth. He is very attentive and is very nice around other families as well as ours. He deserves a lot of credit because he has been in Ming for a long time. We could like to thank him for making our experience here more wonderful. Food is OK here. Ambiance is really nice. They give you hot towels before your meal which is nice. The food could be a lot better. They definitely don't make the food spicy at all which could be a bad thing for a lot of people. There is actually NOTHING special about their food. Just know that you are paying for the name. When I asked for extra spicy rice, all they did was put more of the hot sauce they have on the table. The result was EXTREMELY salty. I will not be coming here again. read more

Do not go to this restaurant! This is a terrible place to eat. We went to this place on 31st hoping to have nice food but our dinner was messed up in every way possible. I will give this place a negative 2 stars. I signed up on Yelp just so that I could post this review. Service was terrible. We were made to wait for quite a long time and other people from the waiting list were allowed to cut in. The table and chairs were still dirty where we were made to sit. Also, we were attended after quite a bit of wait. Ambiance was terrible for the prices they charge at this place. There is a $15 cover charge per person and 11-15% gratuity if there are 4 or more people. We were only 3 people + 1 two year old kid. We were still charged gratuity. After we got our appetizers, we saw that one of the customers got up from her seat and complained that she saw a rat running around. When we asked a waiter about the incident, he said that there was indeed a rat but then he tried to cover it up by saying that it was the customer who brought the rat with her in her bag. How ridiculous is that! We did not eat anything after that. Whatever little food we tasted was terrible. The food was bland, sour and mediocre. Not worth paying so much money. People who say that they had a taste of Indian Chinese as in India should get their palette cleaned and go to Chinese Mirch on Lexington in NYC. Great Asian fusion restaurant that blends Chinese, Thai, Indonesian and Indian cuisine. Try the spicy coriander soup and chicken drums of heaven for appetizer. Among the entrees, I like the chicken Manchurian and chili lamb but pretty much everything I've tried here is delicious. Utterly disappointed with the quality of the food here. Every dish was missing a key flavor. I don't mind paying 100+ dollars(for a party of 3) but the food was just OK! The price vs quantity ratio was just not right. A Indochinese place has to get Gobi Manchurian right regardless but here it tasted bland and Yuck! Both the chicken entrée's had different names but had the same sauce. I basically paid top dollar for the good service and ambiance. Ambience was ok....2 kimonos stuck on the walls.... n they have lamps hanging so low that I hit my head practically every time I stood up. Quantities of food are really less for the price they charge. Appetizers are still reasonable but the main entrees cost a minimum of 17$ for really small quantities.
