Great roast pork egg foo young and whenever I need a quick pick me up, I get the fried shrimp appetizer .... and since they're open till 11 pm ....when the whole town closes up at 8 pm. I've worked down on RT.28 for a long time and I wanted to try something new so I went to Ming moon. The service was amazing! Very nice and polite. The ambiance was eh. But the food was horrible. I spent $60+ to bring home to my family and we ended up throwing it away. I got boneless spareribs which had no flavor and were really really fatty, pork lo main again absolutely no flavor and a few other things. Take out. 4 dishes and hot and sour soup . The soup had no flavor and was a glue like consistency . The MuShu was not flavored much and didn't taste like mushu . Lots of breading on the shrimp. Not a great meal. read more

Soooo good! I will cop to the fact that I only ordered two things, and neither were the healthiest of options, but Ming Moon made them perfectly. This place does not skimp on the ingredients! The pork fried rice and house special fried rice had so much meat in it! The taste isn't the best but it's definitely better then most places. I really can't give any Chinese take out joint more than three stars, ever. However, this is probably the best takeout Chinese food that I have had in this area. Maybe you have had my experience of calling in an order to the Chinese takeout joint only to speak with someone who has a very bad grasp of English. I can't understand them and they can't understand me and not infrequently the order is incorrect because of this. Well this joint is not like that because there are two children of the owners to take your order. These kids although polite, obviously want to be somewhere else.The one young boy was totally bored and annoying but at least my order was correct. The food was very good and there was a lot of it. Disappointed! Yesterday I ordered Shrimp with Black Bean sauce. All they did was make shrimp with lobster sauce and added a few black beans. When I picked it up, I asked specifically if it was black bean sauce. The lady took it out of the bag to show me. I told her it didn't look like black bean sauce. She said it was. Well it wasn't! This is NOT, I repeat, this is NOT your sit sown for a meal and be waited on type of Chinese food place. This is your typical New York city down the street on the corner Chinese food spot that has 3 booth-tables and delivers till 2am type of place but, without the delivery part. You drive up and there's the pretty big parking lot yet you can spot the restaurant from the road by it's neon red "open" sign. The owners here are EXTREMELY nice. They have children who help out at the counter and they answer phones as well. It's very much a family thing here and that's why I like giving them my business. They are open quite late and for me I find it's best to place orders by phone. They take cash and credit. They have a cooler full of sodas, Snapple, and waters. They do lunch and dinner combos and have a station for utensils, straws, napkins, and sauces ( you can take as many as you like). This place for me makes me feel like I'm back on 8th ave and 23rd street on my lunch break from work. You cannot go wrong with their combos. First of all the amount of food you get at this place is crazy, we always have food leftover 2 days later. Specically though their combos come with a rice of your choice and an egg roll!!! I've had most of the appetizers and combo menu it is ALL good. I have ordered their General Taos chicken, cold sesame noodles, chicken wing combo, egg rolls, beef chow fun, lo mein, shrimp with mixed vegetables, honey wonton appetizer, and dumplings. My kids love the soup here and the prices are more then reasonable. I'll often grab some quick takeout when we don't feel like cooking. Very large portions. We can usually stretch it out over two or even three meals. Everything's been tasty and nicely prepared, and the prices are really good especially vis a vis the portion size. Hey, it's not fine cuisine -- it's just Chinese takeout -- but for what it is, it's quite good. Nice staff (family run) and your order is ready quickly. They've never made a mistake on an order, either, as some takeout places do where you get home and realize they've given you the wrong thing or left something out. read more
