A tiny bit dry, $15~$16 or so, it's really expensive for what it is. Not worth it.

Decided to come right after a medical appointment nearby with my family member. It was much more emptier than I thought as there were barely 10~12 people there in a place where it looks like it can seat at least quadruple that, if not more (the tables that wasn't walled off by glass walls that is likely used for parties). I haven't been here for a long time and decor wise, it's pretty much the same as it was before in the early 2000's as they don't seem to have changed much. We only ordered a plate of green vegetable, chow Mein and this beef rib thing with this rice noodle thing (sorry, I do not remember the name of this dish). Out of the 3, I feel like the one with the rice noodle thing with the beef is the most tastiest with the chowmein being the worst, I had food court fried noodles that tasted better than theirs and it costed a lot less. The service is really what I liked about it. The employees were very friendly in my opinion. When we realized there was a possible hair like thing in the vegetables, they immediately switched it for us with a new batch without question. A bit of a tip - I recommend asking to keep the plate of food with you on the table until they came with a new batch to prevent them from just giving you the same batch but just switched the plates. While it's definitely not going out of your way to come here but I do recommend coming here if you are in this neck of the woods and checking it out and see if there's hidden gems in the menu that tastes good.Crispy Chowmein

I liked how the waitresses were proficient in Chinese/English. They are accomodating for parties and there is some private rooms with glass doors for banquet type of dining. The rooms are small though. Food was alright. Some dishes lacked flavor. It's right off the freeway.

Westview Oriental Restaurant specializes in delicious tasting Cantonese and Szechuan cuisine. They dish out excellent quality authentic Chinese food and daily dim sum. Open Mondays to Sundays from 11am to 8:30pm. Closed Wednesdays. Service is spectacular.

Steamed BBQ Pork Buns ($6.45): nice and light.

=== 1. VERDICT/VALUE 3.5 stars: the better, if not best option for dim sum on the North Shore. Good food, but prices are higher than much of the mainland and service can be inconsistent. === 2. FOOD In general, you can't go wrong with the food; on this day, we enjoyed: - Shrimp Dumplings ($6.95): plump and tasty. - Pork Dumplings ($6.45): 4 pieces of solid goodness! - Pan-Fried Fish Cake ($6.75): a delight worth enjoying again. - Steamed BBQ Pork Buns ($6.45): nice and light. - Pan-Fried Pea Tips ($11.95): I wish it was a lot bigger for the price... - Beef Teriyaki Spinach ($11.95): yummy yin and yang on one dish! Note: there is a $1.20 charge per person for tea. === 3. SERVICE Higher prices is one thing but inconsistent service leads to the loss of another star. On some days, the service is alright, and on other days, it seems like some or most of the staff are just putting up with the inconvenience of having customers. === 4. ATMOSPHERE It's a decent environment to dine in - neither old nor new, but given the curved shape of the room and layout, very large parties may have some challenges. Tables are relatively close together, so it may be a tight squeeze for wheelchairs and strollers. Parking is plentiful in the shopping centre lot.

    Always great time!!!

I've been going here for the past 10 years or so, 5-6 times a year, and every, single, time they have provided excellent service and even better food! We always have the Dim Sum, and never leave a scrap of food or want for more...simply delicious!!!! After reading some reviews you have to be prepared to come here. If you want service start with a reservation, then be prepared, the place is busy, the staff are flying around...be prepared for that. I think most poor reviews come from people expecting a quieter environment, or perhaps less familiar with dim sum...yeah, you might have to ask for an item once or twice, but that's the nature of success....be patient, and enjoy the overall experience!

This was my first time trying a few dim sum items in North Vancouver. It was more authentic than what I was expecting. The menu has all the basic dim sum items. Service was very good and efficient. Overall, 3.5 stars experience.

    Typical family outing.

A bit spendy, but always good. Nice people own the place. Some of the best ginger beef around!!

Great food. Super nice people. Nice presentation. Mango pudding with Grand Marnier was good! Many thanks Westview Oriental. We'll be back!!

We started with a plate of the BBQ Duck, and it was absolute perfection--packed with so much lean, incredibly flavorful meat. Then we ordered the Signature Four Treasures Chef's Plate on Steamed Rice. Talk about a masterpiece! It comes with BBQ Pork, Soy Sauce Chicken, Roasted Pork, and half a Salty Duck Egg. Honestly, every single element was so delicious that I genuinely couldn't pick a favorite. To top off an already amazing meal, their black lychee tea was out of this world. I loved it so much I actually asked if I could buy some to take home! They don't retail it, but the staff was so sweet and told me, "You can drink as much as you like here." Challenge absolutely accepted! The staff kept it perfectly topped up the entire time. Excellent food, wonderful service, and all the cozy, classic vibes. More cha cha cha please! I will definitely be back.

We have been coming…read moreto this noodle house for a number of years now; its one of the few remaining Hong Kong style noodle houses left in Vancouver serving authentic Cantonese dishes. We ordered two bowls of their wonton noodles, a Chinese donut and a plate of spicy deep fried chicken wings to share. The quality of the dishes was a delicious 5/5. The bowls had 5 giant wonton each filled with juicy pieces of shrimp chunks which appeared to be more shrimp than pork. My favorite kind of wonton! The ramen noodles and broth were perfect in texture and flavor; the donut pieces were crispy and hot. The chicken wings plate exceeded our expectations this visit. The wings were coated in a heavier batter than their previously (likely from a different recipe from a new cook) keeping the chicken meat moist and crispy. The wings were only lightly coated with chili sauce that didn't soak the wings, all garnished with sliced jalapeños. This was dish we couldn't stop eating! The service was 5/5 because the waitresses recognized us, were efficient and more personable in serving us. The ambiance was very quiet for a change because of the long weekend which we didn't mind. We were able to have a quiet conversation easily. Although the place was only partially filled everyone there appeared to eat with slow deliberation and deep appreciation. I hope diners will continue to visit this little gem for a taste Hong Kong. We will.

The delivery food was ok, but a bit average. We ordered: Vermicelli noodle soup with shredded pork and pickled vegetables. Oddly, the app forces you to pick a noodle type, but doesn't give you vermicelli as an option... it was ok. It's much better at the restaurant. Hong Kong style congee - it was decent, with lots of "stuff" in it. Beef tendon with lettuce - it was a rustic braised dish with large hunks of tender tendon. It actually went quite well with the congee and noodle soup. But you get a LOT! It's definitely not for everyone though but we enjoyed it well enough.
