Well my mistake as I gave them the wrong date. So we turn up when there was a pile of people who had made reservations - the manager was amazing - she was already so busy but she went out of her way and managed to get our party of 8 sorted and seated. The service was amazing , the food even better. The BEST prawns I have had outside of Australia - like amazing. My husbands chicken was really great as well - in fact all of our meals were cooked to perfection. Even when they were so busy with the graduation we were made to feel like we were fabulous. The band was great as were the cosmopolitans. The manager kept checking on us making sure we were ok and she was so so lovely. I highly recommend Bonfire , even under stressful conditions they gave the best service, drinks, food and ambience. And don't forget the great prawns I highly recommend this place , I'm definitely purely going again.

The specialty drinks were fantastic, albeit pricey. I ordered the fish special and was very pleased. But...there is some serious not so good...we arrived early, 5:30 for dinner to beat the rush, but apparently that doesn't count. We waited for drinks..., we waited for appetizers..., we waited, and waited, and waited for our entrees..., when it finally arrived, everyone was thrilled, but they missed an order and one in our party waited even longer until finally served. If that want enough, we came back the next evening for the music and were told after ordering apps, that the wait would be 2 hours...mind you, the place was no where near even half full. And it took almost 2 hours. I will also echo the shock of an upcharge for using a credit card. Food alone would be 5 stars, but service was excruciatingly slow and so it's 3 stars.

On the food side, I ordered General Tso's chicken with fried rice and an egg roll. The dish itself is definitely standard American-Chinese fare and it is clearly on the menu, but the execution was off. The chicken had a decent initial crisp, but the sauce leaned heavily sweet with very little spice or depth, which made it feel one-dimensional halfway through the meal. The fried rice was plain and under-seasoned, mostly just colored rice with minimal mix-ins. The egg roll was the most reliable part, with a solid crunch, but that was about it. Service was functional but not particularly attentive. The order was correct and came out fairly quickly, but there was no real sense of engagement or quality control during pickup. It felt like a straightforward transaction rather than a tuned-in service experience. The ambiance inside is very basic and dated, more of a utilitarian takeout setup than a comfortable dine-in space. Lighting is bright, seating is simple, and while it is clean enough, it does not feel like a place designed for staying in and eating. It is clearly built for quick pickup and leaving. Overall, this China King falls short in execution. The food is recognizable but not well-balanced, service is minimal, and the atmosphere is strictly functional. It works in a pinch, but it does not deliver a strong enough experience to stand out.

Celebrated my anniversary here and really enjoyed the experience…read more When I made the reservation they asked if I was celebrating anything, so I shared. Was really impressed that there was a congratulations card at our table, signed by the whole staff, plus multiple employees stoped by the table to share too. Nice touch! We sat outside in the screened in pouch overlooking Lake Superior. Really great view and unique experience. Lots of unique drinks on the drink menu, with happy hour offerings. I went with my stand by... Dirty Beefeater Martini. But my wife had something unique... but I couldn't tell you what it was. Service was excellent and our food was great. Prices are on the higher side, but that is expected at a high end restaurant.

Possibly the best steak you've ever had, definitely a rare opportunity to enjoy a salt plate. GF House Oysters (gf) (df) $5.95(1) - $23.95(6) - $39.95(12) East coast James River oysters. Six, twelve or individual. Chophouse House Salad (gf) $8.95 Mixed greens, apples, blue cheese, caramelized pecans, champagne apple vinaigrette. Morels were in season, so we were able to add them to the steak and both were delicious. I particularly loved the salt plate the steak was served on. So much flavor!! The salad was good and the oysters were also good. We ordered the pecan praline dessert that I thought was ok. I probably would have liked something else for dessert. I definitely didn't care for the Brussels sprouts. I'd recommend getting some other side dish. I loved being able to look outside from our perch within the restaurant. From that perspective, I thought our table was fantastic. Service there was fine. I'd told the staff that we were celebrating my boyfriend's birthday, and the staff gave him a hand-signed birthday card, which was a nice touch.
