I was on a grocery shopping run and read about Ming's Sui Mai. I had lunch with a friend of mine at another restaurant in Chinatown before we did our shopping. We both ordered one dish of Sui Mai to go so we could try it out. My wife and I actually liked the taste, texture and flavor. The dish includes 4 Sui Mai for $7.99 but the menu shows $6.45 for the dish so a bit confused on the price difference. We plan to go back but dine in next time so we can try the other many dishes. Based upon the Sui Mai, this is definitely worth trying out for Dim Sum. I forgot to take pictures of the Sui Mai but I did take pictures of the menus and restaurant. Review Update Paragraph: Correction to my original post, I can't do math in my head. We paid $14.99 for two orders which comes out to $7.50 each so I'm guessing the difference between the Owner's response and what we paid might be for using a credit card.

We ordered a lot! Everything here is really great and I would come here all the time if I could. Ming's Tasty dim sum is one of the best in the Bay Area. You can taste the freshness of the dishes and it really shows. Their service and turnaround is relatively quick and efficient. We ordered the black bean pork spare ribs, chicken feet, siu mai, shrimp dumplings, meat-stuffed snow bun, shrimp rice rolls, fried turnip cake, and fried stuffed meat dumplings. All of their food is pretty good, but some of the must-try dishes here are the shrimp rice rolls and the fried stuffed meat dumplings. Best to come with a larger party, so you can try it all!

Came here for lunch with a friend. The restaurant was packed at lunch time! We ordered to go but it took a while due to the crowd. We ordered the Steamed Char Sui Baos and the Wonton soup (with added beef brisket stew. Both were yummy and not super expensive.

Another solid dim sum meal! Reasonable pricing and super efficient service. This place fills on the weekends by 10 or 10:30 so arrive early if you don't want to wait. The standout for this meal was the glutinous fried rice. Tasty and freshly made.

Wow, it's been a while since I came back here and it's amazing!!! their food is so fresh. It gets really packed around 11 AM, but it's worth the wait !!! you can tell us very family oriented in here! Definitely could take your parents or grandpa grandparents out to eat here! Super clean and everyone is super attentive!! definitely will come back again!

I was craving dim sum and we went around 3pm. It wasn't busy and we got seated fast. We were so hungry and definitely over ordered haha. We ordered the preserved egg and pork porridge, har gow, shumai, taro turnover, deep fried meat dumpling, tripe, rice noodle roll w/shrimp, rice noodle roll w/crispy shrimp, and chinese donut. My favorite were the rice noodle rolls. I loved how soft it was and the chili oil with it *chefs kiss*. I wish it came with the sweet soy sauce instead of regular soy sauce though. Would come back if i'm in the area.

This past weekend (Sun 15 Feb2026), my sister, niece and I went out for a dim sum brunch for an early celebration of Chinese New Year. My sister had remembered an article in the SF Chronicle's Food section which ranked Misty's Tasty as "top-ranked" and "best, authentic dim sum in the East Bay". Behind a graffiti'd exterior, you enter a smaller restaurant than most and it was definitely buzzing. We got there early-ish(btw 1030 & 1100) and there was already a short waitlist. There is nothing fancy about this place and don't expect white table cloths and napkins. Once seated, be ready to order off a paper menu which also doubles as their to-go menu. Our selection consisted of * 2 orders of snowy Baked BBQ Pork buns * Pea sprout dumpling w shrimp * Steamed Shrimp dumpling (Har Gow) * Steamed spareribs in black bean sauce * Preserved meat w rice in a claypot * Rice noodle roll w beef cilantro *Bean curd skin rolls (Fu Pei Guen) * Chicken feet w Peking Sauce * Deep fried meat dumpling (Ham Sui Gok) * Deep Fried Taro dumpling (Wu Goo) * Pork and Shrimp dumpling (Sui Mai) The service was fast as each dish came out "piping hot". Each dish is categorize under Small, Medium, Large and X-tra Large. When we were leaving, there must have been 20+ folks waiting We will definitely return to try other options. Each item is priced appropriately, good portions and tasty!!

If you want good tasting dim sum at a decent price, Ming's is one of the best. Always super fresh, hot and delicious! It doesn't break the bank and you leave feeling satisfied!

My three favorites: eggroll, eggplant, and the tripe. I dream about them. Especially the crispy eggroll and that filling!!!! Service is hot or miss but tbh it is Chinatown lol you get what you get

Clean, affordable, good quality, and quick! This place checks all the boxes. Little small dim sum spot my brother recommended in Oakland. We got seated quickly, ordered and within a matter of minutes all our dishes came out piping hot which is what I love. Everything was sooo good. The rice roll was nice and thin. The star of the show was the snowy bun with bbq! We definitely over ordered and am glad that I did because the leftovers were just as good. I'll definitely be back the next time I am in the bay!

Still one of the best authentic sit-down dim sum spots left in Oakland! The Har Gow, Siu Mai, Choy Sum in Oyster Sauce and Fried Shrimp Balls never disappoint. Tried the fried tofu skin shrimp wraps and pumpkin balls this time, and both were hits, though the pumpkin balls are definitely best eaten immediately for that perfect mochi texture. Great service, too. Save yourself the stress of street parking and just use the garage across the street

Solid dim sum spot in Oakland Chinatown! Since it was my first time, I of course had to try the classics like har gow and siu mai. I think the fillings for both were excellent with a lot of shrimp provided and not a ton of filler. I think they could do better and get the fifth star by not oversteaming the dishes. Most of the wrappers were way too soft and starting to fall apart. My girlfriend particularly liked the fried pumpkin pastries -- crispy and not too sweet with great chewy texture from the glutinuous rice and pumpkin combo. She said she would make the trek back just for that one dish!

Came here for a friend's birthday party of four because we knew we could get down with the dim sum. To be honest, I don't know everything we ordered because a friend frequents here a few times a month, so she did all the ordering, but I do know some things we had. We had the turnip cake, pan-fried pork bun, deep-fried tofu skin wrap with shrimp, baked barbecue pork bun, crispy spring rolls, thousand fried shrimp balls, pea sprout dumpling with shrimp, steamed shrimp dumpling (har gow), rice noodle roll with beef and cilantro, choy sum with oyster sauce, and Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce. We also had rice noodle rolls with shrimp and tea as much as you want. I'm missing a few things here, but you get the drift--we stuffed our faces. Our bill came out to $112 for all these items, and we duplicated some orders. It's not a fancy place by any means, but they pay attention to when you have empty dishes and pick them up really quickly. They also notice when your tea is empty and refill it promptly. The service is fast and efficient. I'll definitely come back here and grab more items.

This time, we ordered a few dishes to try - the classic sesame paste noodles, Shan Dong chicken, the fried rice with shrimp, and the hot spicy eggplant. Since we did order delivery on a busy Saturday night, it took a little over an hour for our food to arrive. The food was expertly packed and we were given plenty of utensils and napkins. The sesame paste noodles are one of my favorite dishes here, there's a balance of sweet and salty offered in the creamy sesame paste sauce that's so addicting. I've always been a big fan of the hand-pulled noodles which are thick, bouncy and chewy. The Shan Dong chicken is deep fried and coated in a delicious sauce. It is more of the sweeter side if you're looking for something that's spicy. I appreciate that we were given large pieces as well! The fried rice with shrimp is amazing - I love the crunch of the green onion, the softness of the fried egg, and the texture of the rice and veggies which weren't soggy and still held a nice bite. Last but not least, the hot spicy eggplant was a great choice because it's usually the trickier dish to cook as eggplant can turn really soft and mushy. I was delighted that with the way it was prepared, the large eggplant pieces still held a tender texture that did not fall apart. I also enjoyed the sauce that was paired with the eggplant, which is oyster-sauce based and added a pleasant sweetness as well. I'm always looking forward to my next visit and I love supporting Shan Dong!

After walking around to visit the many vendors, I decided to have lunch at Yung Kee on the corner of 9th & Webster Streets. One of my friends has dined here and recommended this restaurant for lunch. After perusing the menu, the choices were narrowed to chicken congee or shrimp and scrambled eggs over rice. The congee would have been good and the weather was cool. However, the last time I had shrimp and scrambled eggs over rice was at a Chinese restaurant in San Francisco near my job in the Civic Center area over 12 years ago. Eats: shrimp and scrambled eggs over rice and a pot of hot tea. Drizzled with some soy sauce, my dish was delicious. The hot tea was perfect, flavorful and soothing when I drank about 5 cups. This was total comfort food and beverage that I almost doze off in the restaurant. For $15, it was a good deal. The only drawback was one of the employees was mopping the floor when I was eating my lunch. I will return in the future to have lunch again. I might even order food to go for dinner.
