This place has legit vibes. And that's important to me when I'm chilling at a nail salon for a few. I'm Vietnatemse, but to most Vietnamese folks I don't look like it and they assume I'm not. I guess that's why when I go into a Vietnamese owned nail shop I can tell the real from fake real quick. Don't get me wrong, many are fine and comfortable. Other places not so much. Sadly, all the jokes and stereotypes about nail salons ring all too true at times. I am so happy that is not the case here! I really don't see why they're reviewed so highly. They are friendly. Maybe I got the wrong person to do it? My gel pedicure was not removed completely, and then the regular pedi they did was lacking a base and top coat, and got around my nailbed and wasn't removed! The repair they did for my fingernails was helpful, but is it really repair to have your cuticles snipped into little pieces? It seemed like she was in a hurry. Not really worth it.... honestly I could have done better at home. At least I care about my own nails more. read more

Love this salon. I come whenever they have open space (should always call first). I was 20 minutes late to my appointment but Minh came back to do my nails. I watched them accommodate to many more customers in similar situations while I was there. They're friendly and I can tell people love to return! they great their customers on a very personal level and carry great conversations. Minh is great at what he does! This is my favorite nail salon in Santa Barbara. I come here frequently and always schedule an appointment for a mani/pedi while I'm in town. It's reasonably priced (which is unusual for Santa Barbara), the service is friendly and consistent, and there's ample parking. There's also a really good Mexican restaurant a couple of doors down and a grocery store in the same shopping complex. read more

I've lived in Santa Barbara all my life, and have always had my list of favorite nail salons, but after my first experience at Minh's today, I've found my new #1! I got an acrylic fill, fixed a broken nail, and got a gorgeous gel color. Minh was the first nail stylist I've worked with who really made me feel informed on what was happening with my nails. I didn't feel embarrassed to ask questions (like I sometimes do at other salons) and could tell that each stylist genuinely cared about his or her customer and their complete satisfaction. I came as a walk in wanting a full set of nails. They say me quickly but it all went down hill after that. The man doing my nails was distracted the whole time leading to the acrylic paste being lumpy and the nails being completely unevenly shaped. Half of them angled way to one side. He didn't thin them out at all and didn't unglue them from my fingers. I ended up with chunks of acrylic around my nails that I couldn't get off. The nails were easily three times the thickness of a normal nail. When he was done, which was after being cut with the grinding blade, he told me "Ok, you're done, go now" so he could seat another customer getting a more expensive manicure. This place came highly recommended, but it was horrid! I go to Tina's now, they do an amazing job. read more

I am giving this place 3 stars because the people are so nice and kind. The lady I who did my nails wasn't too great with nail repairs. I wanted a "band-aid" to save my nail but she used nail glue instead. The color selection wasn't so great and my nails were bubbling the next day - my guess is the nail polish I picked out was old. I was so embarrassed that I had to go elsewhere to get them fixed since I see clients on a daily basis and I couldn't meet anyone with nails like that! Love Minhly's!!! They do the BEST pedicures in town!! The salon isn't over the top nice, but the girls are great. They take great care when they do their nails and are always so good about giving extra long massages (which is the best part of getting a pedicure, right??). I came here for my first time last month and was really impressed by the lady who did my nails, so I came back two days ago to get my nails done again. I paid $65 for a gel manicure and pedicure and also left a tip. The same woman who did my nails last time did my toes, but this time it was a man who did my nails. I got no hand massage, which I was kind of sad about. Then when he started to paint my first nail he put on the wrong color, so I told him right away that it wasn't the color I picked. I understand that mistakes happen, so I wasn't upset about that at all. However, he took off the coat before it dried and instead of redoing anything he just started painting and it left a bubble that looks like a giant white stain under my nail. He was also working in such a hurry (I mean it was insane, it was like he was just trying to get rid of me) and in between having my gels under the UV light, he was on his cell phone. He didn't take his time at all, and it shows. Some of the gel has even leaked off my nail...which leads to premature pealing as well. The night after getting my nails done, they ALREADY started pealing on the tip of my nails. I would have gone back and asked them to fix my nails, but like I told them, I'll be out of town--this is why I got my nails done..to look good when I go out. Basically one of my nails has a giant bubble under it and has a chip at the end, then one of my nails has a gel leakage where you can just see the clear gel on the side, and three of my nails are pealing. It's not like I did anything that would ruin my nails either. I would come back, as long as he doesn't do my nails because the woman who did my nails last time did such a good job! Bottom line, I love my pedicure, but not my manicure. read more

Been to several nail places in Santa Barbara and Minhly's is the best of the best! They are by appointments only so they do NOT rush when they see another customer walk in. I usually can get an appointment the same day I call so it's not a problem. Amy always does my pedicures and she does a great job everytime I go. For the ladies who loves massages, Amy gives extra long massagestoo. If you want gel nails (these last about 2-3 wks), get them done with Van. She also does a great job. If you want nail design, she's your go to person. She has a little photo album of different designs she's done. Hope you like this place as much as I do! read more

I came here because of the great reviews on Yelp. They were all very nice and welcoming. Got a full set acrylic and I'm not happy with the end result. I felt like my nail tech was in too much of a hurry. The shape of my nails aren't evenly done and the application of the nail color and acrylic is sloppy. As my nails grow I see the eye sore of flaws that I'm so ready to just take it off (even if it's only been a few days). The sloppy acrylic and nail color growing out from under my fingers' skin looks grossly lumpy and encrusted on my nail bed. Their prices are reasonable, but I wouldn't recommend coming here if you're a perfectionist. read more

Minh is hands down one of the best manicurists in Santa Barbara! I cannot express how impressed I am. I came in with acrylic gels that were far past their days, but didn't want to get a whole new set yet, Minh was able to completely revamp my nails beautifully into the perfect coffin style pale and sophisticated pink I absolutely adore. He is so meticulous, genuinely cares about his customers and spent a good amount of time to carefully ensure my nails were as perfect as they could be. I had an okay experience. I haven't done my nails by myself for a while so it was a new experience. I walked in, not sure what to expect. I was greeted by the guy tech, who seemed a bit unfriendly but he was busy. Then I walked to the colors and picked out a neutral color. They gave me a lady who looked like she had to use her free time on me and was annoyed by that fact. Every time she spoke, she'd speak softy and everytime I'd said excuse me, she'd raise her voice in a rude tone that made me feel uncomfortable. As she was doing my nails, she barely spoke except to ask what color I wanted and if I wanted gel. I honestly felt so uncomfortable, I wanted to cry. I wish I had gotten someone that was a bit friendly. I would go again, but I will not take that nail tech I had. read more

I have had nails done in many states and many city's and by far Minhly's is the best. Be fixed an ingrown nail problem another salon created and it took her many months. I now have Be do my waxing and with my sensitive skin it can be a problem and she pays close attention and only does what my skin will tolerate at the moment.
