When I came to pick it up, I was told it needed serious repairs. I have Endurance Ins. I called them, and only one of the problems was covered, but I didn't have enough miles on the car, so all was denied. Cancelling that--what a rip-off. I wasn't sure of what to do, so I started looking for a second opinion. I looked online for Mercedes-Benz repair and found David Terry, Family Car Care for less! What a blessing. He kept the car overnight, ran tests, and could not find any problems, which is what I thought. At any rate, for a small inspection fee, I feel so much better about the car. The car is perfect, or in very good condition for a 2006. David saved me several thousand dollars and, more importantly, personal peace of mind. I would recommend him 100%!

It took a while but David is the guy for all my auto needs. I have a 2012 S63 AMG that was giving me some stalling issues and David took the time to assess the situation to take care of it. I currently have an issue occurring now that David is taking care of with the car but what stands out for me is that when I called him in the evening to inform him of it, he didn't hesitate for a minute to come help me. Mind you this is well after 7 p.m. David, I appreciate you and will continue to bring my car to you and will definitely recommend you to any & everyone I know with foreign cars. I called them on a Friday at about 4PM. I asked JOEL if it was better to bring it in tonight or before they opened on a Saturday at 8AM. They said just show up tomorrow and we'll get to it as we can. I was there at 7:50 AM for a drop off. They did not contact me until 3PM on Saturday to say that they haven't fixed the AC yet but they have changed the full synthetic oil ($107 - $15 website coupon) and tested several other fluid with "corrosivity strips." Both the brake fluid ($125) and radiator coolant fluid ($170) tested "bad." I gave approval to move forward. Hey, I'm not a mechanic nor have access to these "magic testing strips." I received a call at 4:30 PM on the same day (Saturday) that the AC had been charged but the compressor is not coming on. It's too late to diagnose so we'll have to keep until Monday. Monday comes and I receive a call at 4PM when they said the AC compressor is dead. $1,284 to replace it. In for a penny, in for a pound. They claim the part is in town and can be received early enough on Tuesday to have it back to me. Tuesday comes and instead of a call saying your truck is done (in time for my Social Distortion concert which I made them aware of) they now say the entire system is "flooded with contaminants" and we'll need to replace the condenser and extension value. Now they have me over a barrel. No additional discounts are mentioned nor offered. I received word the truck was done at 5:45PM and to come pick it up in the next 15 minutes or wait until tomorrow. I took my truck in for AC service and oil change. I leave paying $3,394.16. Was it required? Again, only people with car maintenance knowledge can judge. Will I ever recommend them? Absolutely not. I'm pretty sure that I covered most of their costs to repair my truck over the 4 days they had it. They did not even thank me for my business. Photos of invoice are included here so you can verify my review.

After the installation, I took my car for a ride and there were many warning lights on the dashboard. Not sure if they damaged all the sensors on the car but all the sensors are now giving me warning lights and these warning lights will not go away. If you have newer cars, DO NOT let these guys fix your cars. One of the mechanics was hitting the back rotor with a huge hammer very hard to get it off and must have damaged all the sensors, I guess. Another possibility is that the other mechanic was using an electric saw to cut off the dust covers and might have cut a cable to cause all the warning lights to show up on the dashboard. I sent them an email about all the warning lights but no response from them. They were able to install the 4 rotors and 4 calipers just fine but the brakes don't feel very tight and feel loose when hitting the brakes. I have to push the brake pedal almost all the way down to the floor in order to stop the car. I recommend these guys if you have older cars with no latest technologies. I've had the same mechanic for about 30 years (a family owned & operated shop in WA), and the thought of going somewhere else petrified me. I really needed an oil change and tire rotation and chose Grease Monkey on Bell based on Google & Yelp reviews. I was greeted right away, explained what my needs were, and Thad did his best to reassure me that I would be well taken care of, they would show me all parts before replacing, and would not try to upsell me. He also said they have bays in back with mechanics to do other work when I need it. I did need a few other things (rear brake light, wiper blades, cabin filter) and each time someone came in to get my approval. I had no idea my wiper blades would shred in the heat! If it's raining, I'm more likely to be standing outside letting it hit me in the face than going for a drive. They were very patient in getting me every discount they could. Coupon codes from the website AND a senior discount! In and out in less than an hour, including wait time to get my car in the bay. The website did mention a carwash, which they don't have at this location, but that was not a deal breaker at all. I highly recommend this location and will definitely go back when I need anything else done.

I started to get weird things happening with the lights on dash. Engine light comes on and then go off after a few miles. This happened for a couple of weeks until I finally hooked up the OBD2 sensor on it and it says P0305 and P2314. The truck would run rough when the engine light was on but perfect when it went off. So I bring it down there and the manager hooks up a scanner and says nothing is wrong with it and that the ignition coils, spark plugs and fuel injectors they replaced are all running perfect. This thing continues to happen for another two weeks. On and off. So I park the Jeep for almost two months until a friend can help diagnose it. The friend pulls the manifold off to look at things and sure enough, the cylinder 3 ignition coil bolt is sticking halfway out and was never tightened. Cylinder 5 and Cylinder 6 electrical connectors were never pushed in all the way like they should have been. In fact the little tab on the brand new ignition coils was broken and the connector just pushed on and never secure. So he replaced the cylinder 5 ignition coil and secured all connectors that should have been done by Half Price Auto. So I spent money to have that all fixed when it never should have even happened if they did things correctly. I'll never bring my vehicle back there because they can't be trusted. They should change the name from Half Price Auto to Half-Ass Auto. UPDATE: They called me today to "get clarification" as if the review wasn't clear enough. So, when I explain for them to tighten bolts and make sure connectors are clicked in and most importantly, when you BREAK a clip, you repair it sites of leaving a connector hanging there not secured, he accuses me of yelling (which I never did) and calling names (which I never did). My next question was "what is the purpose of this call?" to which he replied, "to get clarification". He (Jack) then stated that I never gave them a chance to fix this, to which I said "How many chances should I give? Three? Once when the head gasket was changed, once when I went back with this issue that should have never happened and once more after that??? His comprehension skills are lacking and I see more clearly why this sort of thing happens there. Just wow. So again, I'm still out $250 and haven't been able to drive my vehicle for two months because they ARE NOT THOROUGH IN THEIR REPAIRS. Good riddance.
