We have bought two Minis from Towne Mini and the purchase experiences for both were wonderful. Time's have changed, apparently. With financing secured and a deposit placed on the vehicle we planned to purchase, we headed to the "new" Mini of Buffalo (West Herr BMW) to have our trade appraised with high hopes that this purchase would be as smooth as the previous two. We left disappointed. The original trade-in offer they made us -- at roughly $7,000 below what other dealerships had already offered -- was insulting. We sat for over an hour and a half while they crunched numbers. After that time, a second offer came back, following a somewhat condescending explanation of how the market works that we did not need. Still below what we were being offered other places. We were a "no." Feeling insulted and frustrated at the time we wasted (we both took time off from work to make the appointment), we made the tough decision to move on. We asked for our deposit back and were taken to cashier. She literally told us, and the sales manager we had been working with, that we would have to wait while she finished something else. Not a "hello." Not "how are you doing today?" Just a "I have to do this first" with a shush finger in the air. So, we were left waiting again. After about 15 minutes, she tells us that there's nothing she can do. It would have to wait until the next day. We still have not heard back on getting the deposit. The experience at Mini of Buffalo was awful. That said, our sales manager is someone we have worked with in the past. His enthusiasm and knowledge of the Mini brand is unmatched. He seemed as disappointed as we were. And, frankly, he deserves far better. The Mini brand deserves far better. read more

I can't say enough good things about the team at Towne MINI. I was not in the market for a car but I found one on their lot just driving by and 3 days later, it was mine. The sales team is friendly without being overbearing and they aren't the least bit pushy. I didn't feel like I was cornered into agreeing to terms that didn't work for me and they were honest about their pricing, which was great. I never thought I'd be a "MINIac", but here I am, sucked into the culture and happily. Getting my MINI through Towne has been a real treat and has allowed me to meet some new and wonderful friends who are just as enthusiastic about their car. The vehicle I purchased worked out. But I have to mention some red flags unfortunately. Got my vehicle in July 2021, purchased a warranty and everything to go with it. I had my boyfriend with me even though he wasn't involved in the actual purchase whatsoever, just there for moral support. They knew this, but when I went in to sign the paperwork the sales manager Scott focused completely on my boyfriend during the whole time even though I was the one signing everything. All the information was directed at my boyfriend and during the 30-40 minute process I think he looked me in the eye twice. I'm a 28yr old female and I've never been so blatantly ignored as a customer in my entire life. Both my boyfriend and I felt it was bizarre. Needless to say I was pretty upset at this considering it was my first vehicle purchase on my own and I was treated like a second class citizen after handing them a check for 4K. I honestly wasn't even excited to get my car after that treatment , and I'm NEVER the person who says or thinks or accuses people of sexism or anything like that. I'm not a Karen, I'm a right wing woman with traditional values. Boy, did this experience change my mind...I was shocked and insulted - and feel as if I had the experience of buying my very own car with my hard earned money taken away from me. Second Red Flag - Less than 4 months into owning the vehicle my shifter cable broke while I was out doing errands at around 5pm. The warranty I purchased even advertised free 24 towing and assistance, so the first place I called was Towne Mini to see if they had any information or could help me out with a tow or the info for my warranty. We spoke with the lead mechanic (mark or mike, I can't remember which) who immediately told us he couldn't help because "rats may have chewed through the cables," ...He couldn't even offer suggestion or information for help. The very first thing he suggested is that my warranty might be voided because of rats - I thought this was extremely shady to go right to that explanation and zero help. I called geico and got a free tow to Towne mini and the next day they quoted me 900$ to replace my shifter cable!!! Anywhere Ive looked says the price of labor and parts for a fix like that should be 450$ TOPS. I got it fixed somewhere else for 100$. To top it off, my boyfriend is close relative of the man who manages this location - not even family will get a helping hand here! Just beware. The one saving grace was the female assistant they had working there. I wish I could remember her name but she worked very hard and was cordial and beyond helpful. She should have Scott's job. read more

Always very happy with my service at Towne MINI. Staff is very personable, remembers you, and are happy to help whenever you need. Salesman Alan R. is a real class act - helped me lease a new MINI while dealing with a pretty crazy issue with my previous one. Communication was always very clear, helpful, and upbeat. I also had another issue where I blew a tire out at work and Alan drove me over a loaner so that I could make it to my mom's birthday party. See what I mean? Such an awesome group of people. Mark in service is also a great resource, a definite straight shooter that is very knowledgeable and works to help however he can. I'll definitely be purchasing MINI #3 from this group in the near future! read more

This place is better than it used to be, but not as good as it should be. It is definitely the worse of the two MINI dealerships I've been to (the other being MINI of Peabody, in Massachusetts, where I bought my car). The GOOD + [The Bad] Free coffee / hot chocolate [Stale-ass marshmallows for the hot chocolate] Free coffee / pop / chai / granola bars / snack packs across the hall at the BMW dealership [Indicates MINI owners not as important to us as BMW owners] TV to watch while you are waiting [Bored employees always monopolizing the TV] MINI magazines to read while you're waiting [ONLY MINI magazines to read while you're waiting] Nothing wrong with my car last time [Two services ago said they needed to perform a questionable a $120 engine flush for "ethanol build-up"] Semi-close to Barnes & Noble [No complementary MINI taxi service (Peabody)] Complementary car wash, floor mat rinse, and wheel treatment now provided with service [Didn't do any of this last time] Waiting area for customers [Uncomfortable, snaggle-toothed couches that I had to sit in for three hours last time] Granted, this is not a huge, high-volume MINI dealership, like the one in Peabody, but even so, I think there should be some sort of consistency amongst dealerships, and particularly, amongst dealerships with the same name, housed in the same building. read more

Very disappointed with my buying and service experience. We purchased a CPO Mini Countryman 4S in feb 2018 with 32k miles for $22k. about a week into ownership the brakes were grinding and pulsing, the front rotors were visibly scored and pitted to the touch as well . Contacted my sales person and sent photos, after a few days he replied it's probably surface rust which I disagreed with. Fast forward to now and only 5k miles later I brought it back to the service dept as the problem only worsened. Long story short they basically told me to pound salt, the brakes were within tolerance when they sold us the car despite how they actually were performing. They only tried to charge me for new brakes, I would have thought they would have higher quality and service standards but apparently not. I guess paying the premium for CPO was a waste of money. read more

The sales people here are NOT to be trusted. I tried to buy a Mini Cooper here. First they told me that if I put $500 down that I would be guaranteed a car that was at another location that I liked. I gave them my $500 and waited several days for the car. Finally after several phone calls asking where it was they admitted that the did not get it for me. Then I tried to special order a car and have it shipped here. They told me it would take a month, then a month later they said another month, then a month later they said another month! Finally I quit listening to their lies and went to Mini of Rochester where I got the car I wanted with no lies or hassle at all. Even after all that Towne Mini tried to fight me and refused to give me my $500 deposit back! What a bunch of thieves and scumbags these people are. NEVER do business with them! Mini of Rochester got me the deposit back and is a much better place to go if you want a Mini. read more

Loved the buying experience here. We worked primarily with Eric who is a great guy with an even better laugh! He was helpful, positive, stayed on track and didn't try to sway us, just really let us have a good time trying out these cars. I mean, Mini's kinda sell themselves, but he was great. Then we also worked with Shawn for a hot minute when we came in and Eric was finishing up with another customer and he was wonderful too. Everyone here really seems to enjoy working at Mini and it just has a good vibe, which is appreciated when you're spending a few grand on something. The cars are wonderful, the trade-in value was just what we were looking for, and the price was right. Customer service was great, we worked with Eric the whole way through (amazing that there was no need to roll anything up to a manager or finance officer--he did all the leg work for us), and now we're about to drive off the lot with a gorgeous used Mini Cooper. Towne Mini has been providing us with top notch service since 2008. Our 2008 Clubman is running strong, because of it.

I am not very pleased with the service department of this dealership. Everyone was friendly and professional enough as I had my Mini brought in after my mechanic could not diagnose an issue, and they ended up replacing the fuel pump and fuel filter. Before giving them the OK to order parts, I was given a quote of a certain amount. When I went to pick up my car, the bill was over $100 more than what I was told it would be. I was caught off guard and barely able to make the payment that they were asking for, but had no other option as I needed my car back. I will avoid ever coming back as this gave me a negative impression of Towne Mini and don't want to be caught in this situation again! read more

Most unhelpful service person told me that I could bring it by, but that it might take a few days. Called another BMW dealer - Rochester and they can see me right away! read more
