Went to grab a drink with some friends and was excited they had updated their cocktail menu. Drinks were great, the bar was pretty empty for a long weekend so service was quick. I love all of the different types of arcade games spread throughout and the overall gaming themes. Also the themed drinks are on point with the game theme of the bar. Always a good place to go if you want drinks and to crush your friends in some classic arcade games.

The perfect spot for a night out! It's such a unique concept, with vintage arcade games scattered throughout the bar. There were also large screens projecting video games, which added to the arcade theme. I've never been to a bar like this one in the Bay Area. I visited on a Friday night, and it was absolutely packed. However, the space is pretty big, so there were still available tables to sit down at and open games waiting to be played. There was also no line outside to get in. The drinks were delicious and fun. They were playing fun music, which added to the lively and boisterous atmosphere. Everyone was here with their group of friends, laughing and catching up. I'd definitely visit again for the drinks, games, and general ambiance.

I am surprised it took me this long to review this place. This is probably one of my favorite bars in San Jose. I usually bring people that are visiting here so they can experience it too. I love going during holidays season when the place is decorated and drinks are the special holiday drinks but the off season is good too. This place usually gets packed as the night progresses so we like going here when it's a bit early to get to play games and get drinks and food faster. Plenty of arcade games everywhere, they also has a tiki bar by the pinball machines by the kitchen. Food was okay but drinks are very good. A lot to do and super fun for everyone.

Miniboss is one of our favorite date night spots in SJ! We first came in on a Saturday night around 9:30. It was decently full, but we didn't have a problem ordering drinks or playing games. Staff are friendly, and we were served quickly. The cocktails and the games are a highlight for sure. We usually find ourselves back at Miniboss after a weekend dinner in San Pedro area. Certain nights - like Halloween weekend - can get very packed. Recommend parking in any of the structures around San Pedro Square area and walking over. Compared to some SF barcades I've been to, Miniboss is well organized, clean, and fun. We always have a blast playing games like Street Fighter, TMNT, and pinball. Sometimes you have to wait to play, but people are generally friendly and will let you take your turn shortly after them. All in all, one of our go-to spots!

Fun arcade bar in downtown San Jose. Been coming here around the time it opened before the pandemic. The food has changed since and I miss the dan dan noodles. Bring quarters if you want to play. There's also an ATM and a change machine. The cocktails are always creative and video game themed. Bartenders are friendly and fast.

Love this arcade bar in DTSJ! Very fun theme, decor, and games (especially on Freeplay Thursdays). But they have seriously well made and creative drinks to go along with that. They switch up their menus often, especially for special occasions like Halloween and Christmas. Another surprising thing is how good their food is. Don't sleep on their cozy Tonkotsu Ramen, perfect after a long night out of drinking. Fast and friendly bartenders too, it's not easy to handle such a huge volume of orders!

[Full disclosure, there's prostitution at this Bar. Which the FBI should investigate] Other than that, the staff, drinks, and food were fantastic. Love it, just all rainbows, glitter, and bubbles! Free play on Thursday's with Happy Hour, can't go wrong!

Love their pizza at mini-boss and decided to try the mushroom and truffle pizza, which wasnt my favorite of their assortment but still good nonetheless. The fries are also really good! Order via scan a qr code and pick up at window.

Arcade bar! They had good music and a live dj, as well as pinball, Pac-Man, racing and shooting similators, and other arcade games. Interesting drink menu flavors too: there was ube, turmeric, mango, etc. Arcade machines take quarters so you can bring quarters or exchange your money at the change machine or ATM.

One thing about me is I love a good barcade. We were out in San Jose on a Wednesday night looking for something fun to do, and everything was either closed or completely empty--except Miniboss! The vibes here were high, there were lots of arcade games, and plenty of seating. They had some great specials going on for pizzas and select cocktails, which was a nice surprise. The bartenders were friendly and helpful. I ordered the Starbound Bloom with Shochu and condensed milk--it had an interesting flavor, but still tasted good! Only thing is it was like 75% ice, which was kind of a bummer. Overall, such a cool spot--great for a date night or a fun night out with friends!

Fun arcade bar with creative, changing cocktail menu and super tasty food! The vibe feels neon / cyber punk themed and they have coin operated games from oldies like pac man all the way to pinball. I appreciate how the menu seems to rotate through different themes. This time they had a Nintendo games theme with several Asian inspired flavors. The drinks seem to run on the stronger side in the rum / soju-wine cocktails I tried. The food is actually really good here. The fries are a good portion size for the price and are shareable amongst friends. Their fries are nice and crispy and have a thick enough shell to maintain firm texture and avoid being soggy when drenched in sauce. Flavors are great too - chili cheese fries had a good ratio of chili sauce to sour cream.

This bar is so fun especially around Christmas time!!! It's decorated so fun for the holidays and they have holiday themed drinks in fun cups!! I went on a Friday night and surprisingly wasn't too crowded around 8. Service was fast and drinks were tasty!! There are arcade games to play as well as food to eat. Such a fun atmosphere!!

A must visit bar located in dtsj. From the atmosphere, drink selection, service, and arcade games, this place is awesome. Overall a great place for drinks with friends. My friends and I ordered the "Smells like teen spirit," "pineapple press" & $10 "we be jammin'" shooters. The drinks were sooo good! What a fun night out. Will definitely be back.

Are kids allowed in? As of 7/17/2025...

Sundays 12pm-10pm are family days open all ages. They posted it on instagram a couple weeks ago

Do the machines still take quarters? Double-checking that they haven't switched to some proprietary token or card thing.

Yes, this is the BEST part! Still take quarters like in the 90s/00s. You can get smaller bills from the bartenders.

Can people who are under 21 come inside if they're with a larger group?

    unfortunately not

    Where do you park?

There is no designated parking lot. You can park in the nearby garages or lots. There is also street parking.

Is the restraunt side temporary closed or permanently closed?

Permanently closed; it's now part of the bar with pinball machines. Some food is still served but it's mostly snacks

    Is there cover charge?

    There is no cover charge

Do I have to bring my own quarters or is this coin op?

    There's a coin machine

Is vax status required / checked for entry?

    yes

Do they have a DJ and dance floor?

No, it's not really that kind of bar.. there's plenty of designated seating

Do they have happy hour or any weekly specials? If so, when/what time?

yes, happy hour is Mon-Fri 5-7pm and Wednesday is free play night for the games!

How many Pinball Tables do they have and which ones are they?

They have 8 pinball tables. Star Wars, Dead Pool, Attack from Mars, Lord of the Rings, AC/DC, Midfield Madness, and Theater of Madness

Do they validate parking at any of the nearby garages?

Parking is free on the street after 6pm every day. Parking garages are no more than $10 bucks for 3-4 hours. Very cheap to park downtown.

    Are kids allowed?

Kids are only allowed on their restaurant side (SuperGood). They also have a handful of arcades on that side.

There are 10+ bar seats, and a ton of tables varying from 2, 4, 6 and 8+ seats. Their outdoor patio is large, covered, and has heaters. They also have their own bathrooms which are very clean and less busy than the ones in the market. They are first and foremost a whiskey bar, with two full pages of whisk(e)y options, including Bourbon, Rye, Irish, Scotch, Japanese Whisky, and American/Single Malt; they also have a selection of cocktails and other non-whiskey options (tequila, vodka, gin). I'm embarrassed to admit I haven't had any of their whisk(e)ys, but the cocktails I've had were delicious. You order directly from the bar, and the bartenders are friendly and quick! My favorite drink is the Raspberry Hang Glider (Vodka, Lemon, Raspberry Puree, House Syrup) which is light, slightly effervescent, and refreshing! I had this while eating a range of Mexican food (from Loteria Taco Bar) and I loved that it was perfect for sipping between bites of spicy and flavorful food. This cocktail doesn't taste very strong, but it packs a punch-sip slowly and enjoy! My next recommendation is the Limoncello Adjacent (Roots of Ruin Gin, House-made Limoncello, Lemon, Basil Syrup, Soda) which is tart, alcohol-forward, and elevated. This is definitely a pre-meal drink, or as a nightcap; I don't usually like such strong drinks while I eat (too many competing flavors) and the limoncello is on the sweeter side, so I would drink this on its own. If you like a boozy cocktail that hits you quick, definitely try this. Highly recommend stopping by Three Sisters for a drink or two while at San Pedro Square; the vibes are laid-back, elegant, and chill. I've been here with a couple of different groups of girlfriends and everyone leaves with a happy buzz! Cheers! IG: @waitingtoeat

Seeing the Scottish drinking Boston dry I wish Scotland had played some of their games at Levi's Stadium. The closest thing to experience the Scottish atmosphere was this Irish pub. I was disappointed when I looked at the food menu and did not list corned beef tacos as stated on the website. Also the food menu listed only five items. I ordered fries and chicken wings. For beer I selected Smithwick's Irish Red Ale. The beer was refreshing however I paid too much for the price of food given the portion provided. The fries were crispy but paying for a basket of fries for $10 I expected the portion to be bigger. I will say the chicken wings were slightly crispy on the outside but most of all juicy inside. My pet peeve is when fried chicken wings are dry. Yet I paid over $18 for chicken wings. I thought I would get a dozen of wings; I only got five wings. For $18 I could have gone the deli section at the grocery store to get eight or ten pieces of fried chicken. Overall the Smithwick's was soothing but given the prices of food especially during a World Cup watch party there should have been more items listed on the food menu.

We hung out at our table for the whole night, like 4 hours. We all ordered cocktails off the menu and later on ordered some stuff off the menu based on the bartender's suggestion. I first ordered a Calabrian Spritz from the menu which hit the spot for me. Personally, I am not a hard alcohol fan but I enjoy wine and fun lil cocktails that are slightly sweet/not super strong lol. So this drink was nice because it wasn't too sweet and had a lot of volume (I like just sipping on stuff in general and it sucks when you order a cocktail that's like 3 sips of liquid and the rest is ice). The next cocktail I ordered was off the menu and called Like This or That (I think). I think it was some sort of passionfruit + vodka mix and very delicious! We also ordered the cold soba noodles and fries. Fries were crinkle cut and nicely crispy, no complaints. Soba noodles were also good, though some component of it was really spicy, I think the cucumbers. Overall I had a good time here and look forward to coming back, though given how little I go out, who knows when that will be haha.
