I went to order more but they do not have an option to order a side of toast. My son had the 4 piece chicken tenders with cheese curds . Now that Minnie Bird has become a staple in my lunch line up, I figured it was about time I wrote a few words to express how I feel about good ol' Minnie Bird. I'm a big fan of the tenders, they are delicious! Tender, juicy and just the right amount of breading so as not to overwhelm the star ... the chicken! Fries are ok, just not a crinkle fry fan so I can take it or leave it. However, what I'm a HUGE fan of are the Dirty Sodas ... JUST WOW! I have been trying to give a number of them to try something new but my #1 is The Southern Berry - Pibb, coconut, cream & blackberry. Truly Amazing! Also, if you are a sauce fan, there's a sauce bar to try out the different dips. And what's not to like about a free cone? It was slathered in a LOT of mayo that made it a sloppy eat. The Minnie sauce tasted like a spruced up thousand island dressing and the dipping sauce was not to my liking either, quite peppery. The fries were quite good so that was a saving grace. The dirty soda was meh and I drank it cause it cost money, not because it was good. Decided to try this new spot in Schaumburg and we evidently came a t a good time because most reviews I've read say that it's very busy. We went on Thursday around 2:30 and although a few people dining it wasn't a long wait at all! We tried several items on the menu. I had the Southern Charm with Cole slaw and an individual tender on the side and a Mango Lagoon Skinny dirty Soda. Everything was amazing! They need to work out some kinks, but they're new and I'm hopeful! Came on a Saturday at 2 pm it was packed but I didn't have to wait long- probably took about 20 minutes from coming in the store to getting my order. They need to get a bigger menu along the wall or some hand out menus as the font is so tiny while you're standing in line you can't read it. I would come here just for the orange soft serve you get complimentary with platter and sandwich orders- I was blown away. All the sauces are fantastic. I wanted to have a dirty soda because they looked delicious but I'd already had a soda for the day. The chicken tenders were a little overcooked with the crispy coating already soft by the time I got it. The cheese curds were also a bit overdone. The Texas toast is just a piece of buttery bread not really crisped. I wish the sandwiches were with breast instead of thigh meat. Food: 4.5 out of 5 stars - had the Nashville Hot sandwich with fries and the Gentleman Dirty Soda. The sandwich was great I did the "hot" option which seemed to be fairly mild but delicious I will definitely recommend going the next step up if you want a bit more kick l Dirty Soda was good a little too sweet for me but very tasty otherwise. The fries were cooked to perfection! "FREE" ICE CREAM (with purchase of a meal) was amazing I would highly recommend saving room for the twist cone! Service: 4 out of 5 - You don't interact with the staff much. You do get a chance when they call your name/number but otherwise you order from a kiosk. Store: 2 out of 5 - Store was clean! Even the bathrooms!!! The building was nice and the location while easy to get to has a horrible layout. The reason for the low score was the layout by far the worst design Choice ever! They have you face a wall to order from the Kiosk and then the next set up is a a ridiculously large soda counter. The pick up window was tucked away in the back next to bathrooms and small drink fountain and sauces. The seating arrangement were horrible. Serval tables, a window bar and 4 booths seemed to be a last minute thing. They said "oh snap we need tables in our ToGo only restaurant. Put them how ever you can fit the most with little to no thought of flow and lines". I would highly recommend taking it to go. The food was delicious. It definitely hit the spot- ice cream was meh. However I was very disappointed in my experience today. Before ordering I had asked staff if the Texas toast contained any sesame as I have a severe allergy. I was informed there wasnt and ordered my food as normal. Once getting home and eating I experienced extreme lip swelling and throat discomfort. This led me to search for their website where I found their allergen pdf stating sesame is found in the texas toast. I normally try to check the website before ordering/eating but wasnt aware the restaurant had a website in the first place. The food at Minnie bird is great! Normally the service is too, but this review is based on an awful experience that I had today. Took my family for lunch on a random weekday and the restaurant was packed. We ordered our food and stood around waiting for a table to open up. While waiting we noticed that most of the tables were occupied by teenagers who weren't eating. To make matters worse, they weren't even customers of Minnie Bird, they all had crumpled up bags and drinks from the Jimmy John's next door. I asked the server if he was able to clear a table, since we were paying customers waiting to eat our food. However he said he was unable to do so, even though I had pointed out that these kids hadn't ordered anything from Minnie Bird. So we waited while our food got cold until something finally opened up. As we finished up and left, the teenagers occupying all those tables were still there just occupying the restaurant while 3-4 groups of customers stood around waiting for a table to open up. read more

I was unaware that the sandwich is a thigh which was disappointing since I'm not a thigh/dark meat far. The fries were great as well as the curds. You get free ice cream which they had peppermint at holiday time. It was really good. They could have been more proactive about cleaning tables since ours was sticky with sauce and honey but overall didn't let it bother the experience. Ordered a chicken sandwich combo which says it comes with a fries and a drink, and paid $4 extra for cheese curds. They tried to only give me cheese curds and a sandwich, and when I showed them my receipt and said I was supposed to get fries too they laughed at me and said that's obviously all the combo comes with. I said I didn't understand why a combo would come with just a sandwich and you have to pay extra for the fries, but the woman with a nose ring started getting extremely hostile and rude and threw my receipt at me. We love Minnie Bird! Their chicken tenders and sandwiches are the best we've had. There are options such as honey or spicy. They have a good selection of dipping sauces to enhance your meal. The combos have an option to the fries such as double cole slaw or, for an up charge, cheese curds. The dirty sodas are delicious and they have so many varieties. They also have pimiento cheese with crackers if you just want a yummy snack. When you are done, free ice cream cones are available!! I do wish they would offer just an order of chicken tenders because I think that would be a big seller. I'd buy them to take home. They warm up wonderfully in my air fryer. read more

Tonight was my first visit to Minnie Bird. Here are my first impressions: Upon entry, there was a line of people along the wall waiting to enter their order on one of two kiosks. This is problematic when it's crowded. This restaurant promotes their dirty sodas but they are an additional cost. Same for the cheese curds that are shown on the menu as a side option, but they are extra. It is not either/or for the same cost as the menu leads you to believe. The dipping sauce variety is nice. There is a flavor for everyone. The floors were filthy. For as many people as were behind the counter, and considering how small the place is, you would think someone would be able to keep the place tidy. There aren't many tables so if it is busy like it was tonight you might have to stand around and wait or go out to your car. I ordered the chicken tenders & my husband ordered the Minnie Bird chicken sandwich. We both agreed the chicken in itself is somewhat bland. If you are using dipping sauces, that is mostly what you taste. My Peachy Days dirty soda was a combination of coke, pineapple, peach, coconut & lime. All I could taste was coconut & lime. Was not worth the extra $2.50 cost. Lastly, the ice cream flavor of the day was Dreamcicle which tasted exactly like baby aspirin! Yuck. Vanilla would have been better.
