I'm giving a 5 based on courteousness, kindness, and food taste in combination. Don't forget to tip these individuals. It was my time trying this restaurant. The restaurant was very nice inside in my opinion. The wait at the door was short because they were between the front and back of the restaurant. I ordered a traditional Nigerian beer. It was cold, nice, rich and heavier than light lagers. They have other spirits, wine, beer and drink options which I was shocked but glad. Eforiro was good and flavorful with chicken. It could have been a pinch warmer for me in temperature. The fufu was perfect also smooth texture and good size. Asun nice and peppery. Great flavor and moisture on the meat still. Side of jollof rice. It has the smoky flavor profile but not excessive which I appreciate it. The staff was professional, kind, quick to clean the areas of the restaurant after a party left. The music was nice and cultural but not loud where you can't hear yourself talking to others. Parking lot parking in a strip mall. I noticed people getting orders to go and they appeared to be prepared fairly quickly. I would return. I basically ate lunch and ordered dinner to go. It was a peaceful Saturday afternoon experience. I'll return.

I went here as a party of 3 on a Friday lunch and it was not busy. I think this is my first time trying Nigerian food and I had a positive experience. We were seated in a booth table and ordered the following - Palm wine - more like palm juice as the bottle says it is a bit fermented so there is a small amount of alcohol - I don't hate it or love it but it's great to try it out - Moi moi - steamed bean cake. Doesn't look appetizing but it's very delicious. My friend said this was his favorite dish, and I found the texture to be palatable based on the flavor profile. It was also one of the more affordable dishes and a Nigerian staple. - Jollof rice - we already ordered a good amount of food but we wanted to try this dish so we got it as a side. Very flavorful and the rice is cooked to a good consistency - Egusi - served with fufu which is pounded starchy vegetable that had a softer texture kinda chewy like mochi but not really, but pairs well with the dish. Egusi is a soup made from ground melon seeds and we chose to have fish for this. When you smell it it's a bit fishy but once you eat it, they prepared it very well. - Asun - spicy goat meat. They don't joke when they say it's very spicy! Despite the heat, we were able to finish this dish without much issue. The goat had a bit of fat but there's skin so the cut is different from other goat meat I tried, but this also made the dish all the more flavorful. Service is decent - the server fulfilled our requests adequately and in a timely manner

Bisi's is in Schaumburg. This is the 1st African restaurant that I have been to. I went with a friend from Guana to help introduce me to some of the not so familiar food. This restaurant is take out only. I don't think they ever converted back to dine in after covid. We were told it would be about an hour for our food to be prepared before we ordered. We ordered a few items and it took about an hour on a Saturday evening. I had the Egusi soup with chicken, a beef patty, and some moi moi. The Egusi had some nice flavors going on that were mildly different. It felt very homestyle with the bone in chicken pieces. It was more of a stew than soup and it came with a good sized piece of fufu. The beef patty was savory and delicious. It's dough was similar to a buttery rich pie crust filled with seasoned ground beef. The patty had an uncanny resemblance to Jamaican beef patties. Now the moi moi was probably my least favorite. It wasn't bad but the texture was of a slightly mushy solid with a mild flavor. Nothing was super flavorful or spicy and my friend said everything he had was good. Many of the dishes were vegetarian or could be served without meat. I really wouldn't mind returning to try some other items.

This was my second time coming here. The first time, a friend of ours treated us to takeout from here. I wasn't feeling well, and it was basically cold by the time we got to it (our timing wasnt good) but for it to still had been good even being cold... I had to go back. The shrimp fried rice was good the first time I had it too but the jollof was really good. I'd refer this spot to anyone looking for authentic African cuisine

My husband and I tried this fantastic restaurant today and the food was absolutely delicious! We ordered jollof rice that came with plantains, egusi soup, chicken, and a meat pie. The flavors of everything was outstanding. I'm so excited we tried this unique restaurant and will definitely be back very soon for more.

THIS PLACE OMG!! Me and my cousins went for the first time and the man working, who I believe is the owner, gave small business vibes in the best way. Whenever people walked in, he knew them by their first names! It is currently under construction so its takeout only. We waited for our food and talked / walked around. It's like a small museum that reclaims history in an empowering way and highlights fantastic art pieces! We shared how we are both from the coastal region of our country and he gave us a free order of plantains EACH! Now onto the food! We came to this place specifically, because we wanted to try fufu for the first time. I got the egusi soup with goat and fufu on the side with spice added. IT WAS SO GOOD. My cousin said "This is like a tamale and pozole wrapped in one" (not really but he was just saying its DAMN GOOD LOL)!! This place amazing and i can't wait to experience dine-in with them too! Support small businesses always.

Food was amazing!!!! The owner Mr. Tony was very sweet and helpful. He made some recommendations for food options and they were a hit! He also gave us drink suggestions of beverages from Nigeria which also were amazing. We ordered jollof with beef, beef patty, suya, and egusi. All of it was amazing! Seasoned to perfection. The suya packs a punch of spice was but in a good way. If spice isn't your thing you may want to pass or eat it with the onion to balance it. The egusi with fish and fufu oh my goodness! Taste was divine. Had leftovers which we ate this morning and oh my so good!!!! Jollof was good as well and the plain rains were cooked perfectly. The meat pies are super hearty and filling. The portions sizes are great for the price. We literally fed 6 people off of the food and had leftovers. The decor inside the establishment is very nice. Although the dining room is not open currently the artifacts and photos on the wall are still present and definitely show the beauty of the establishment. After some time searching we found out go to for Nigerian food. Even though it's a little over a hour drive we'll be back! Matter of fact we were trying to go back today but they are closed on Sunday. A must try!

This was truly amazing!!! The service was great the man working, who may be the owner, was so kind and spent time talking to us. I've been talking about coming here for a year now so glad I made the trip. Will be coming back and trying everything else. Meat was so tender and there was so much flavor.

It was awhile before someone came to tend to us but as my husband was explaining to me, in the African culture, you go to them to tell them what you want, not the other way around. They were in the back busy cooking and preparing, there is a open window where you can order. We got to meet the owner who the restaurant is named after, Anayo. He was awesome! I wanted to order the fried rice or the coconut rice but those are large orders for several people which are only for call in but they don't indicate that on the menu. I got to order the last meat pie they had and OMG, I'm still dreaming about how good it was! I ordered the jollof rice and told them mild spice but it was still a bit too hot for me but in Nigeria, that is how they spice their food, LOL. It comes with goat meat and fish. I loved the fish as it was flavorful, crispy and delicious! I will make sure to order that fish again. Hubby got the Nkwobi made with cow feet, scotch bonnet pepper, onion, palm oil Spinach and seasonings. It was so hot but he enjoyed every bit of it. Anayo told us that they have only been open for 1 year. I hope they continue and thrive. I got to taste a strawberry yogurt drink that they had in the frig that was in a 1 liter container. I really enjoyed that also. You get the bill after you pay - they told us our total for us to pay. Not used to that but they aren't the first business that I've experience to do that. Area was very quiet that evening. Thank you Nayo's - see you soon!
