This Minsky's is by far worst in Kansas City. Food lacks flavor, ordered a calzone with ricotta cheese, pepperoni and mushrooms (canned) absolutely no seasoning on the calzone or dough. Also ordered a cheeseburger pizza on cauliflower crust, asked for no onions but that request was ignored. They put so many onions on the pizza. We got an order of wings, I was disgusted by the pizza and calzone I lost my appetite. My wife said they were super dry, like they were cooked yesterday and reheated today. All items lacked sauce. For the premium price the food, I was expecting amazing high quality food but was left with a bad taste in my mouth. I am disappointed. read more

Four of the five managers at this location, Tara, Ryan, Troy, and Anthony have always been pleasant to be around and very respectful. Lindsey on the other hand? Not so much. This lady has on numerous occasions screamed and yelled at her staff. She is shockingly disrespectful and rude to them. No one representing a business should be behaving that way towards anyone. The rest of the employees and managers besides her that work here have always been great. Polite, helpful, and friendly. But the issue here is definitely with Lindsey. I truly hope that ownership takes a closer look and deals with this, because this kind of behavior reflects very poorly on the brand. read more

We had takeout from Minisky's Pizza! We had two pizzas and wings which all was very good! While we forget to take pictures of the wings, please know that they were very large in size and very tasty!! The takeout folks were quick and very polite. Next time we will eat in the restaurant as we saw there were multiple TVs around the entire establishment. Both times it was slow at these locations so it's a matter of servers & staff needing training and listening clearly. This last time, server just said sorry. I've been in to Minsky's twice, the most recent being last Friday evening. We were seated immediately and drinks followed thanks to Adison. She was very pleasant, attentive and helpful. Much to our surprise we found that the Joe's KC BBQ pizza - a somewhat rare option - was available. I'd been jonesing for one of these since I first heard about it so I was pumped. Nor was I disappointed. I'd also heard about their cauliflower crust and had to try it too. The pizza was delicious and the crust was good too. It is thin, crispy, has a neutral taste and perhaps a more chewy texture. No complaints and I'd order it again. My first time in was around last Thanksgiving. I was visiting family and have since relocated. On that visit I had the Gourmet Hawaiian and didn't care for it due to the sweet chill sauce. My bad, I should have known better and ordered a standard Hawaiian. Next time. Regardless, both times I got great service. The menu incorporates more than pizza including apps, sandwiches, and drinks. Unfortunately deserts are missing but hey, it's a pizza house. I can definitely recommend Minsky's next time you're up for a good pizza. Especially Joe's Kansas City BBQ. It is spectacular and not to be missed. Trust me. read more

A disappointment from a restaurant I counted on. I chose pizza at Minsky's last night and insisted it was better than other choices. In spite of our last custom pizza being great this time, terrible. Toppings of Canadian bacon, pineapple and jalapeños were requested. In half of a large pizza, only two pieces of pineapple and Canadian bacon close to that in scarcity. Does anyone care anymore about selling a quality product? I counted on Minsky's and can't any longer. Sad day when you see a decline of a respected local business become evident. Ordered the BBQ chicken pizza which I have had many times and different locations around KC. No sauce at all. Chose delivery. The girl that took the order had the completely wrong street. Waited 2 hours for the pizza. Spoke with Tyler who is the manager. He apologized which I appreciated. Was able to get him to refund the order. He said he would send me the voiced receipt. Never got anything so had to go down there and then he voided it. Dishonest, incompetent and untrustworthy staff and management. Not consistent with Minsky's Pizza norms. Don't order from here. When my daughter was little, we used to go to Minsky's on Main. It was a special treat and as a single mom, I didn't mind the splurge cause it was that good. Later in life after living in Chicago for fifteen years, I moved back and ordered Minsky's for the Chicago movers who said it was some of the best they'd ever had. Although we don't dine in that often, the experience is always nice when we do. However, in the last couple of years, the Cheeseburger pizza (our favorite) has deteriorated to the point that I hesitate to order from them at all. It has come with bacon, when not requested. The pizza used to be packed with big chunks of ground beef and pickles and loaded with cheddar cheese. Toppings have dwindled so to where it looks like a few tiny sprinkles of beef are thrown on and barely any cheese. The last one was this same quality and there were no pickles...what is the point of cheeseburger pizza with no pickles, tiny amounts of cheese and beef? This last time was the last straw. It was a last chance for a place I used to be proud to serve to out of town visitors...some of the best in KC. I really don't like to give bad reviews but unless we see big improvement at Minsky's, we will trying other pizza places. read more

Came to Minsky's tonight to give the highly touted Oktoberfest pizza a try. Super excited to try this combo of Joe's KC, Blvd Beer, and Minsky's. Heard great things about it from friends too! We arrived to a busy restaurant and were seated quickly. Waited around 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge us at our table. Finally a server came to get drink orders but didn't want to take our food order as she wasn't our server. Waited another 10 minutes for our server to come to finally order our one Oktoberfest pizza. There were a lot of servers working. Several hanging around the front door for carry out and another sitting at various tables with her friends. Ours was busy moving from table to table. When our pizza arrived we were super disappointed to see the pizza below. There was hardly any Alfredo mustard sauce, no bacon, little sausage, and no cheese sauce. I had to get up to ask for Parmesan cheese because our server was no where to be found. When she finally came to our area we asked about the cheese sauce and she stated "oh we don't have that here". What?! How do you a) not have a key ingredient of your advertised pizza and b) not tell the patron about it when they're ordering?! The pizza was underwhelming at best and certainly not worth the $25 we paid for it. I generally like Minsky's - love the Papa Minsky's and Prime Cut. This however was an enormous disappointment. I'm glad others have had a great experience. I'll go back at some point. Just won't be for this. And no I didn't share this with the folks there - we had to chase someone down to pay the bill and I was done working this hard for my meal. Folks. This was the last straw. I was a customer for 15 years until today. I have to abbreviate the encounter but here's the gist of it. A customer should never be treated the way I was tonight by Michael the manager. A couple weeks ago I ordered a Chicken Cordon Blue Pizza and picked it up. It was horrible. Dry, overcooked and no sauce. I called, got a store credit. Today. I used the credit and ordered another Chicken Cordon Blue today and asked them to make sure it wasn't dry and had sauce. Well, that didn't happen. I got home and it was horrible. I called the store and talked to the manager who identified himself as Michael. Michael proceeded to lecture me that he would make me another pizza himself because he can't babysit the kitchen. He then had the pizza delivered 30-40 minutes later. I will give this to them. At least this one was made right. I called Michael to thank him and let him know. Instead of being happy about it, I got another lecture. You see Michel wanted the old pizza back. So I gave the driver it back. Michael said the old pizza was fine and that he was disappointed I only gave half back. Michael went on to lecture that he put three times the sauce on and that I should be grateful he upgraded me to a large. I explained to Michael that the reason he got half back (medium pizza) was bc my family had a few pieces and threw away them bc they were horrible. Rather than argue with Michael and explode about how rude he was, I thanked him and hung up. Bottom line- Michel, I'm hard paying customer and know how the pizza should be made bc I've been a customer for 15 years. You in the other hand need to learn about customer service skills and apologize for your rude behavior. I doubt I will be back until something is done about this. read more

WARNING: I SAW THE DOUGH GUY NOT WEARING GLOVES TOUCHING HIS FACE AND EATING WHILE MAKING THE DOUGH. But if you can get passed that, this place is our new pizza favorite. We started off with my favorites: toasted raviolis-average but you can't go wrong with them so I'm not complaining and Spinach artichoke dip- amazing and fresh. I love a good spin dip and this was far from average. It tasted like they hand made it in that dish and prepared it. It was bursting with cream cheese flavor. Then we ordered a half bbq chicken and prime cut pizza with original crust. I was amazed at the flavors of this! It was all really good. They had a lot of different flavors too. If I could I would give ZERO STARS because that's what they deserve. We had a large group of 22 adults and 20 kids. We called ahead to make sure they could take us and they said it wouldn't be an issue. We arrived at 8:30pm. There were a couple tables of people there when we arrived and one other large group of 10. We had ONE waitress. There were other employees at the front chatting it up and playing on phones and also a few employees at the bar standing around. Our poor waitress was trying to accommodate our group all by herself. We had been there for an hour when we finally got our drinks. We get it. Large group and she's alone but there were other employees not doing anything and she hasn't even taken our food order yet! We tried to be as helpful as we could by each group writing down our own orders, getting our own menus & napkins, etc. FINALLY the food starts to arrive. Other employees are helping her bring it out but no one knows who got what or even WHAT the food is!? What kind of calzone is this? I don't know. ok... What kind of pizza is this? I don't know. There were orders missing and food that ended up getting delivered to the wrong people in our group - it was a complete disaster. None of the people involved in bringing the food out were apologetic. INSTEAD, one girl who was dressed in her full softball uniform said that she KNEW she brought out one of the large missing pizzas insinuating we were lying about it never coming out! When I was explaining I was also missing a pizza she turned her back to me, while I was talking, and walked away shaking her head It's now 10:30. We just wanted to leave. Instead of taking off the food that didn't come out they made us wait until they made the food and we were expected to pay for it!!!! No one ever said sorry or offered to take anything off our bill - even the food that didn't come! We were literally held hostage waiting. My husband went to talk to the manager and explain why we were upset with the horrible service... employees sitting around while we are all waiting and ONE person is doing all the work. The manager told him to MIND HIS OWN BUSINESS. It was one of the worst dinning experiences I've ever had in my life. Staff was rude, argumentative, and disrespectful. Never again. read more

Pizza here is always solid. Customer service and atmosphere... nothing to write home about and the only reason I didn't give it . The quality of the pizza is always worth the money. I didn't eat here but rather ordered for takeout. The total came out to about $32 for two large pizzas and apparently, I saved $8 (that's what they told me on the phone) since each large was $18.99 . The decor looked okay and there were a lot of TVs. I would've expected the noise level to be loud but it wasn't that loud. The parking seemed limited but there might be parking in the back. The two large pizzas I ordered were the Cheeseburger Pizza and the Jumbo Combo. I was surprised how small the large pizza looked but looks can be deceiving. In my opinion, the Cheeseburger Pizza was tasty but probably one of those pizzas I'd only try once and not order again. My coworker recommended I try the Jumbo Combo and she was right! The Jumbo Combo was delicious (especially if you like meat since there were 4 different kinds of meat on it) but pretty greasy. There were other gourmet pizzas on their menu that I'd like to eventually try. I know the prices seem a bit high but I thought the pizzas were good. I'll try their other pizzas later! read more

The food is great (wings, pizza, calzones, all of it!), but man... the service at this location is just so frustrating to deal with. I've been going here for years, and it's always been bad, especially with pickup (in store and curbside); really long wait, relatively checked-out employees, etc. Today was the worst it's been. I put in an online order and showed up at the right time and somebody came out to my car after 2-3 minutes of waiting and said they'd go check for my order. 10 minutes passed and they never came back out. So I get out of my car and go in and ask and they don't have my pizza ready. Instead they put in the order as soon as I showed up, and then it came out wrong so they had to remake it. I'm frustrated that nobody came out and let me know. So I went back out to my car and 5 minutes later they came out with my pizza and it's *still* not right... but at that point I'm hungry and the buffalo wings I also ordered weren't getting any warmer so I left. We have been enjoying Minskys Pizza for some time now. 4 years ago we moved up north and have visited Minsky's in Liberty, MO. The service and quality has been declining over the past 2 years. Carry out orders have been wrong. The wait time is longer each time, the staff seem more interested in gossiping with each other then providing service to paying customers. Last evening we thought we could give them one more chance. We decided on a "Kansans city best chicken sandwich " and a meatball sandwich. They both were awful! The flavor was bland, the meat had the texture of saw dust and the chicken was tough and dry. Plus the fries were cold and tasted like rancid oil. I'm done spending my money and showing support to a restaurant delivering sub par food, service and courtesy. There are other choices in restaurants and our next one will definitely not be Minsky's in Liberty read more
