I was pleasantly surprised. The crust was thin and flaky with a tremendous flavor. I was hoping for a bunch of leftovers, but we ate almost the whole pie. DISCLAIMER for my review: I love pizza. Hot pizza, cold pizza, leftover pizza, square pizza, all pizza.. and this is the foundation for my review. A friend suggested we dine here and what a GEM of a pizza restaurant. I was glad we stumbled into this cozy restaurant. The first sign of success was this place was very busy on a rainy, Saturday afternoon. Always a good sign for any restaurant as was the packed parking lot. The server was friendly and prompt. She was professional and knew her job well. She made helpful recommendations and steered us i the right direction. The menu was fairly extensive without being too much. I liked the various pizza size choices so you were not stuck having to order a big pizza for one person. I ordered a small supreme and a salad. Delicious. Just simply delicious. Everything was oh-so-fresh and plentiful. Pizza Shoppe did not skimp on ingredients or toppings. My friends ordered a special order pizza that was half what she wanted and half what he wanted. There were no issues and they got their food promptly. Sometimes you get the eye roll from servers when there is a special order but not here. The restaurant itself was spacious without losing atmosphere. Parking was easy and there were no issues with access. The staff seemed very friendly and hospitable. I would definitely recommend this place. I am also anxious to go back and try other items on the menu. This is everything a pizza place should be even if you love all pizza. Guilty. read more

Let me start by saying our family LOVED PIZZA SHOPPE!!! Unfortunately the key word in that sentence is loved. Don't get out very often but gave it a try again tonight after some less than stellar visits over the past couple years. After tonight I don't foresee us going back. I don't ask for much other than for staff to follow instructions. Requested two queen pizzas, light on the mozzarella cheese. First try came out pretty heavy on cheese to which our two young boys would not touch it. I understand light cheese is subjective but to Pizza Shoppes credit, they offered to remake both pizzas. I emphasized again to go light on the cheese, actually said "whatever you feel is light cheese, go even lighter". Second round came out and these had even more cheese than the first attempt. I simply don't understand how difficult that request is to comprehend. So now we have two upset boys who won't touch the pizza. Despite the heavy cheese, I gave it a go myself and honestly it tasted bad. Very little flavor, almost bitter. No amount of pink stuff could have improved this offering. It is what it is and I'm sure some will die on the hill that Pizza Shoppe has the best pizza but with Minskys right up the road, we'll be going there from now on. read more

I'm normally very happy with Pizza Shoppe. My car was in the shop so I ordered a salad through Doordash. I also ordered a bottle of the Pink Stuff for a friend that moved out of town. Well...Pizza Shoppe sent me a squirter bottle with a cheap pop off lid that wouldn't stay on. I can't mail that and it would be spoiled by the time it reached her. When I called the manager, Patrick, and told him that I needed to exchange it for the regular bottle and I could come by in a couple of days to exchange it he told me that i had to bring it in that same day. I was at work and my car was in the shop. That's why I ordered Doordash. He wouldn't exchange it. I had to throw the bottle away and my friend didn't get any and i am out the money. Let's start by saying we've had this location before and it was fine. My wife ordered carry out large combo minus green peppers and onions. She got home and this thing was covered in onions. Not the kind of onions you can pull off they seemed almost sautéed and super pungent smell and taste. I like onions but these were so heavy and imbedded in the cheese and other toppings that we ate what we could and threw the rest out. I guess it's not Pizza Hut where someone checks it before you leave. Since we've moved, my wife and I have enjoyed trying the pizza options in our area. Where we lived before, we didn't have access to any of the local chains and were stuck with Pizza Hut or Papa John's. We recently visited Pizza Shoppe and I don't think we'll look elsewhere. What a great place! When we visited, we found a large, very clean sports bar-ish feel to the place, which was exactly what I wanted. We sat down and got our order in. It wasn't super busy so it wasn't loud or anything. We got to enjoy a good conversation before our pizzas arrived. I ordered a Butcher Block and my wife got a Round Table. Oh, yes! The perfect pizza! Great toppings, lots of cheese, and a nice, crispy crust! Yum! This place reminds me a lot of a family-run pizza place back home. I still crave that pizza at times and Pizza Shoppe satisfied that craving. This is the closest thing I have found to that wonderful pizza of my memory. Ordered supreme king pizza to be a pick up order. We were told it would be 45 minutes to an hour before ready for pick up. We were there at 45 minutes and it was ready to go. I've been to various Pizza Shoppes in KC for the past 6-7 years, typically going to the Prairie View location. I've had consistently great food and service over this course of years. Additionally, even at lunch when it gets busy they are able to seat quickly. Pizza is thin crust, and the minis are perfect size for lunch - along with a small shoppe salad with "pink stuff" garlic/ranch dressing. Butcher block pizza (meat lovers) is delicious. I love being back up north and able to visit the Pizza Shoppe location that I grew up going to. Good pizza and the Pink Stuff! You've got to love the creamy, pink salad dressing and those delicious cheese-covered salads! It's a family restaurant, so expect to see lots of children here. It's great for me since I can bring my 1-year-old and no one blinks an eye. He eats the pizza happily, as do the rest of us. Food is cheap and fast. I don't like pepperoni on my salad and really don't like hard bacon bits so I wasn't a fan. The pink sauce if fine...nothing spectacular, nothing to write home about but it will do. (I still think Ranch is better.) I've only come for lunch and will have to say that their lunch deal is a very very good price. The individual pizza is good. It's just ok, imo there are better places to go for pizza. I had a small side salad that consisted of lettuce, bacon bits, mozzarella cheese and pepperoni. A very simple salad.
