Although I hadn't been to this location in about 15 years until today, I have visited 2 other Northland locations more recently. Although I think that their pizza is quite good, I usually go in for a salad just to get my 'Pink Stuff" fix. The BLT Salad is my go-to with lots of bacon and cheese and of course extra Pink Stuff. I would have given 5 stars but never once did I see my server after my salad was dropped off. Pizza was great, love the pizza. Better service at the DMV. This had happen twice, there won't be a third for me. Bartender hid in a dark office next to the bar on her cell. I had to ask for everything. Pizza came and I had to ask for a plated and napkins. Had to ask for a box and my check. She was to busy complaining to other customers. I saw a customer who was unhappy & I replied to "Tracy W". I wrote the following to her negative comments; I was at the restaurant while this customer was being very belligerent. The customer kept saying she didn't like the taste of the pizza that she ordered & demands of a refund. I am guessing here, but there are better ways of handling a situation like the one I witnessed here. My server (the same lady, the owner) was very nice and friendly. The location in Liberty is amazing. The staff feels like friends, our service is always amazing, and the food is always 10/10. I am still bummed that the store closest to my home (the one on Melody Lane) closed, so this is the closest store to my home. Went here for dinner tonight was really glad to have the Tuesday Night Special: 2 house salads with the Pink Stuff. The Pink Stuff is the BEST salad dressing, especially if you like garlic. I also like the fact that salads have two pieces of pepperoni as a garnish. The special also included cheese toast, and a King (large) one topping pizza. More than enough food for me and my spouse for dinner. We will have left over pizza for lunch (or breakfast) tomorrow. A great redeeming factor for the Pizza Shoppe is that they serve Coke products and have two kinds of Boulevard on tap. They had a seasonal beer on tap, which I did not catch the name of, but it was perfect with my meal. The Pizza Shoppe is always one of my Go To pizza places, lots of places to sit, and the food is good. Tonight I did think the waitress hovered a bit too much, each time hubby and I were getting into our conversation, the waitress came and interrupted. I usually like to stop and eat lunch here when I fly into town. In the past couple of years the staff turn over has been horrible. Different faces every time I am here. They completely forget that you are stirring there. Too busy shooting the bull at the bar or sipping on their drinks to wait on customers. The food has gotten worse as well. Ordered carry out on December 27th. Very disappointed. Both pizzas were over baked, the tops were evenly dark brown. We ordered breadsticks with marinara sauce and got Alfredo sauce instead that was horrible. If not for their pink stuff dressing on the five salads we ordered our meal would have been a total loss. They never have enough help. If you are trying to grab a quick lunch, forget it. We have been late getting back to work on several occasions. We have seen people and known people to get up and leave after sitting for 35 min and still not getting any service, my parents for one. Your drinks don't get refilled without repeated requests. We have seen on several occasions, people going behind the counter to get their own refills out of frustration. Getting a box and your ticket is another extremely long wait that requires multiple requests as well. If your a regular you can count on repeatedly getting put off while others get taken care of a head of you. It seems they feel, they know you will be back no matter how bad the service is. We are anxiously waiting for this area to develop more, so there will be other options for a non fast food lunch. We will more than likely never step foot in here again, once other options are made available. It's a shame, this used to be a very nice place to get lunch quickly. The flat screen was a DLP and it doesn't do well when you sit in the closer seats due to the limited viewing angle of the TV. It's the only real option for Pizza in south Lees Summit. Church Road Shoppe has since lost my business, as the young service staff is lack luster and seems unconcerned with customer service or serving a quality product. The reason for this review is the pizza's. Everyone in this family has their favorite pizza places.The wife likes Minsky's(5 star cheese) and Funhouse. I like Pizza Hut (Thin Meat-lovers) and Little Caesars (Deep dish pepperoni). But we all can agree on Pizza Shoppe. We love their salads and like their pizza's. We usually get one pepperoni and one sausage pizza.My 12 year old had us order the BBQ chicken and now we are all big fans of this delicious pizza. In the last couple of years I have been turned on to adding jalapenos to my pepperoni pizza. Love the heat and flavor the jalapenos bring. But the best use of jalapenos is Pizza Shoppes BBQ chicken. We used to love pizza shoppe, we ate there at least twice a month, UNTIL, we found cigarette ashes in our daughter's personal pizza. When we asked the waitress about it, she just laughed it off and said oh really, I can't tell because I smoke myself. It was such a horrible experience, in fact two months later I can still taste the ashes....We will NEVER eat at a Pizza Shoppe again. I used to work for the owners of this Pizza Shoppe about 7 years ago. This place is great. I was very sad to see the one on Melody Lane close, but times are tough. Nancy and Scott (the owners) are great and I'm glad to see the Raintree location is still running. I try to make it out there time to time to get some good food, but it's a bit far for me. If you haven't eaten here give it a chance, the atmosphere is great and the owners are amazing. Oh and another thing I wanna make sure to mention--this place is actually clean. You know how some restaurants just look dirty? They actually make sure that the place is clean. I can tell you from working there that the ingredients are always fresh as well. The management, service and pizza tonight was not good. Being an eleven year customer I was very disappointed when the server asked me how it was and then snapped at me for mentioning the crust was much thinner than normal. I didn't have the chance to tell her it was also soggy. Other than that the pizza, soda and beer and a $40 tab were good. I think the server told the manager in haste but he did nothing either. Frequent customers on average once a week. From no on I will drive to the other Pizza Shop 8 miles west, or visit Next Door Pizza, Spin or Minsky's in Lee's Summit as I have never had this kind of experience there. I have only had polite servers who sincerely mean it when they as who it is and good pizza. No wonder there was only one other table of people dining in while we were there from 6:45pm to 8pm. We stopped for lunch. My sandwich was poor with a strong carbon taste. it was as though it was burned badly when it was not. Possibly a dirty burnt grill. My buddy had a small pizza which he said was soggy and tasted poorly. The service was almost non existent. We paid the bill and picked up a sandwich on the way back to the office.
