This is an a-ok place. It's got two tv screens showing things about the restaurant and/or things with cartoons and animals. It's kind of weird but fine. It's in some Beaverton-y place called The Circle. I passed by a dude in an office who may have been a "security" guy. He was sound asleep in a recliner-like desk chair. It was kind of weird. Anyway, back to the restaurant. Things are always fairly reliable at Mio Sushi locations. I have had sashimi at many sushi places around the metro area, and Mio is reliable. The fish cuts (especially tuna and salmon) are a bit thin, but the prices are on the low side, too. Moreover, the sashimi platter comes with rice (kind of odd, but...fine) and a miso soup. It's a pretty good deal for under $20. This particular visit, I ran out of water once. During a key wasabi-consuming part of the evening, too. And after we paid the bill but sat there awhile, they cleared the soy sauces away and picked up the check, but we eventually left because we were thirsty (i.e. out of water again). I get it. They've paid. Done. But it wasn't close to closing, so there was no reason not to refill our waters. But that wasn't a big deal. The water part during the actual meal and the fine and dandy portions/prices are why this place is A-OK (but not much higher). It was clean, though, which is nice. read more

Love this place. I moved here from San Diego and for some reason everyone is Portland thinks that conveyer belt sushi is the way to go... not for me! Sit down, outside and inside. This place is great! First Mio sushi I've been too and I'm in love. I've been here twice- first at lunch right when they opened and second during a busy dinner rush. Both times service was quick, friendly, and knowledgable. The sushi is made to order, and comes beautifully displayed. Not to mention delicious! I don't know why it took me so long to try this place, since it's so close to my office I could throw a rock and hit it. The sushi is okay. Not the best I've ever had, but certainly not the worst. (The conveyor belt place down the road isn't as good, but the prices are way better--for the $1.25 a plate lunch deal, anyway.) The ambiance isn't anything special. It's pretty much your typical Japanese restaurant with sushi bar. I'll have to go back and try the menu items. Being a new sushi convert, I tend to stay with the 'safe' choices. California roll, anything with the word 'tempura' in it. Had a wonderful meal at Mio this evening. The service was slow, and she forgot several things, but she was very nice and personable so we loved her anyway. They were a little understaffed, and they gave the call-in orders priority. In all, we probably waited 30 minutes for our food. When the food arrived, it was pure heaven. Every bite I set down the sticks and thought to myself, 'damn this is good!'. We left out of there very full and satisfied. They're faking it a bit on the service side, but they are all pro when it comes to making killer sushi. read more

Good sushi at good prices. They have a fabulous patio and there are usually plenty of tables. Crack a Saporro open and enjoy the water fountain! Also, the staff while perfectly lovely used to be really bad about refills on water and soda, but they have vastly improved on this in our last few visits. Try the mio roll, spicy tuna, Mt. Of all the Mio Sushi restaurants, this one stands out by far. I particularly like the ambiance: high ceiling, big windows, and low key decorations that says modern but on a budget. Everything inside says budget, especially the food. You get a decent amount of food if you order the bentos. They come with a side of rice, small salad with ginger dressing, a side dish and main dish. And the price - unbelieveably cheap. The staff are always there, ready to serve. They do minimal service, come by to fill up your water glass, but that's about it. For me, that's good enough. I understand it's not five star and if they fill up my glass I'm content. I think it's hard to not like Mio Sushi regardless of which of them you go to, they're all good. This one happens to be a little above the others. read more

In addition to their spot adjacent to the Beaverton Central MAX station, I have been to the locations on 23rd, Hawthorne, and 185th. I really have not been disappointed by any of them. I do want to clarify though that I would have only given them three stars however, the fact that this location is just steps away from the MAX earns them a fourth star. I do wish I could deduct half a star because my water glass tends to go empty well before the sushi is gone and it usually stays that way until the check arrives. Again, the sushi is good, the fish tastes fresh, the rice has been spot on every time I have ever been to a Mio, and the prices are reasonable. They even started a happy hour menu a little less than two years ago. In addition to the sushi, I have also enjoyed the zarusoba. I go weak in the knees and get tingly in all my special places when presented with a half way decent dish of noodles, hot or cold, in broth or not. Definitely try it if your a noodle fan. If you are a hungry bear you may want to supplement the zarusoba with a sushi roll. Goes well with an ice cold Sapporo. To recap, good sushi, and great location off the MAX line. If the sushi just spanked me a little harder the way I like it, this could have been a solid four star review. A hui hou! P.S. Wow... this place has gone down hill. We have enjoyed Mio for years and this location was never the best, but it was always decent. We ordered our usual takeout order and wound up throwing most of it away. All was fishy and did not taste fresh at all. Preparation was sloppy and incorrect on the order as well. I was just told by an employee that the reason I couldn't get through on the phone was because they purposely made the phone like it was off the hook. I've never before called a business and had them not answer because they didn't want my business. Very unprofessional!! We love the sushi they make but there are other sushi places that will answer their phones to take a to go order. The ONLY reason I ordered anything was because my wife and I just worked our asses off at the hospital jobs we have, but there we don't not answer the phone because a patient needs to be seen. We have always been very happy with our Mio Sushi meals until tonight! Somehow the rice, cucumbers, tuna, etc. that provide the basis for our Sushi were so bland and tasteless that we were shocked. This location has gone way downhill. It's unfortunate because it used to be really great, and their waiting staff is usually pleasant. Their sushi bar gets backed up due to disorganization at times, and once took over an hour to bring out sushi for four people when the restaurant was not that crowded. They forget to put advertised ingredients in kitchen dishes (i.e. they leave out some of the vegetables from the udon soup that should be in there according to the menu). They under season their sushi rice so that it tastes exactly like regular rice. The sushi ingredients are not always fresh. We were brought a roll with brown, oxidized avocado (pictured) and were not offered to have it removed from our bill. They did take a very small percentage off the total bill, but this amounted to about half the cost of the roll. read more

I ordered a combo bento here with miso salmon and spicy chicken. The miso salmon was definitely the better of the two, but it wasn't by much. The salmon had a strange alcoholic flavor to it and the spicy chicken tasted like it was from panda express. I think it's made using their chicken teriyaki sauce but adding a little bit of pepper so it was an oddly spicy and sweet combo. I looked over at my friend's seafood yaki udon and found it rather unappealing. It looked nothing like the picture posted on their menu. I asked if I could check my to go order and she told me I have to pay first. So I paid and then she said your order is over there. I had to walk over to a table to get it. When I checked it, I asked for the two sides of spicy mayo I asked for over phone. She came back with two small containers, tossed them down, huffed and rolled her eyes. I went here with a friend last night. Enjoyed...my sushi, especially the spicy salmon rolls. I always enjoy the sushi at Mio, no matter the locaiton. Disliked...the service. We walked in a little after 9 - they close at 10 - and were told we couldn't sit outside, because it was too late. However, there were at 4 tables of people out there. We were then rushed to order and no sooner than we got out food, did the waitress rush over with the bill. When we didn't immediately sign, she came back and "reminded" us. I understand wanting to close up, and had we been there closer to 11 when we finished, instead of 10:10 I would have understood. I felt rushed and annoyed and will probably not go back to Mio, any of them, for awhile. If you don't want people to come in after 9, then say you close at 9, not 10. Puh-lease. read more

I wish they had better ventilation. Honestly, my biggest issue with this place is the smell of the fryer and fish that get me every time I walk in. The sushi is alright. It isn't the best in town but it makes for a quick and decent lunch and is priced fairly well. The service is always warm, friendly, and efficient. Between the three restaurants at The Round, this is the one I frequent the most and would recommend to those in the area. read more

3.5 stars It's so hard to find a decent sushi place here in beaverton. I went during happy hour (they've got a pretty good selection of items for HH) and really enjoyed the not-too-busy ambiance. One of their rolls I tried wasn't what I thought it would be. Maybe I misread the description, but I definitely did not expect that sweet chili sauce on top. That wasn't a great roll. Their spicy tuna is good but nothing too crazy. Someone had mentioned in their review that the proportion of fish to rice was just right, however, I definitely got waaay too much rice and very little fish. I tried their salmon and garlic and onion nigiri, but that was a little disappointing (read: garlic powder and green onions sprinkled on the salmon, the description on the menu did not sound like that). This local sushi chain is a regular stop because it has fair prices, good service and fresh fish. Mio buys its own seafood wholesale for its restaurants and it shows. We waited for 15 minutes to get our food ordered. And it was not like it was busy or anything. The waitress was extremely rude from the time we walked in and she greeted us to the time she took our order. We asked to sit outside, but she said we would not do that as they don't seat people outside 1 hour before they close. We haven't left because we are extremely hungry right now and already spent 15 minutes here, otherwise we would have already left. We love Mio Sushi but this is definitely the last time we come here. I usually always enjoy my dining experience at Mio sushi, however the past two occasions have been very unpleasant -at the beaverton central location specifically. Very horrible customer service. I called in advance to ask how the snow would affect their business hours, and the lady responded very eagerly to come in that they had two tables and and hour left till closing. 10 minutes after the phone call I arrive and she turns us away saying that everyone decided to leave early. I understand their concern to get home safely and suport that but I made a very cold trip in the snow and called in advance to make sure I would get dinner tonight and was not able to. read more

Went around happy hour. So did everyone else. The restaurant went from empty to pretty busy in about 20 minutes. Our server was not so great. Asked for iced green tea, got 2 warm cups of green tea and a little ice. It melted instantly, obviously, and that was it. She saw we needed more ice but never brought. it until we asked. She also saw we needed more water, but that never happened. The asian waitress was hustling to take care of her tables, and some that weren't hers. We were blessed with the ditsy american girl who seemed to be screwing up all her tables. I liked the laminated menu which you could write your order directly on with the dry erase marker they include.. It was helpful and better than the throw away paper ones some restaurants use. Plus you could easily change it up. We ordered 4 rolls, but only 3 came. It was plenty of food after 3 apps anyways and she didn't charge for it so no big deal. The Edamame was great. The Gyoza also was fresh and delicious. The food was presented nicely. Fresh Wasabi. Very! This location is part of a chain apparently, but it didn't feel like it. This one is at a new condo / retail / restaurants / train station type place. Not much in the place yet, but nice vibe. Clean. Modern. Outdoor seating. The pricing was average. Service below average. We ordered food to go and ate outside the restaurant at the tables. I ordered a bento which I have ordered many times before. The spicy chicken was nothing like it normally it's and had just 4 pieces of chicken and the rest vegetables. The yakisoba noodles we almost all vegetables and a few noodles. Very sub par. Our bill was over $100 and when we were finished the garbage cans we full all around the restaurant and they put up a big fuss about taking the trash. I have never gotten food to go and not been able through things in the trash at a restaurant. Very disappointed with the food and service. read more

The sushi was fresh and rolled well. There's nothing more annoying then sushi that falls apart. The coconut roll was a bit on the sweet side but surprisingly good. The jalapeno roll was great unfortunately not spicy at all but great flavor. I enjoyed the cucumber salad, wished was cut thinner and the asparagus did not add anything to it. But overall it was very good, the service friendly and attentive. A lovely spot for some good fish bits. read more

The sushi rice was not of the best quality and rolls, for the price were not very large. We have had much better at other Mio locations. Disappointing to spend $45 on 2 rolls that actually had fish and the rest of the items(4 appetizers) were all veggie only. The cucumber "salad" was simply cut up cucumbers with no dressing, the seaweed salad was good, decent portion and agedashi was overcooked. The avocado/cucumber roll was 6 pieces, which is much smaller than other sushi restaurants in the area, as we usually order as a vegetarian entree roll. Bummer. read more

Got a delivery order. It tasted more like Fred Meyer sushi than Mio Sushi like the one off Walker rd. My crab was chewy in the roll, rice was old tasting, I couldn't even eat the roll. Part of order missing (not because of post mates), cucumber salad was just cucumber without any dressing. I was not impressed. Will not be ordering from this Mio sushi again. read more

Mio Sushi use to be the best in sushi and always left you feeling valued as a customer but today (a Friday BTW) when I walked in at 12:30pm for lunch there was only one customer in the entire restaurant. I was worried because it had been about six months/a year since I had been in and wondered why a place that was always packed was empty. I quickly found out! The server, her name was Plum, was annoyed that myself and my guest arrived. My guest, a native of another country, was asking about some of the Japanese ingredients, and Plum, in a very short and very rude manner would point to the menu and tell her to read it because the ingredients were listed. When asked what types of tea were available she pointed out the drink list and told us to look at it. Plum quickly made the environment very unwelcoming and non-inclusive. Additionally, any question my guest asked visibly annoyed Plum. I feel sad for the chef's that make the sushi because while the food is still superior, the customer service is trash. I would rather settle for semi-good sushi instead of being treated so poorly by Plum again. To the GM/owner the restaurant if you've seen your profit margin drop, it's largely because of poor customer service. Plum should definitely not be in the restaurant industry. read more

I usually dine at Aloha Mio Sushi which is the best. Since today was closed I gave a try at Beaverton location. It wasn't as good as other but can anyone explain why they automatically add 20% tip to my bill while only four adult and two little kids dined while service was poor. read more
