The food is outstanding - everything tastes as good as you shopping the ingredients and making it yourself (no less). While the food is delicious, the service at the Mt. Washington location is a problem. I've lost count of the number of times they've gotten my order wrong or didn't include items I paid for. I sent my son to pick up an order tonight that I placed online. They said they didn't have a ticket for it when he got there. He came home without the food, and when I called to tell them I had an email receipt, they said the food was actually there, waiting to be picked up. A couple weeks ago, I did carry-out, and I checked my food before leaving only to discover they got my order wrong. While I waited for my new order, the young girl at the register casually dropped the F word multiple times while talking with another employee. I'm not a prude, but c'mon, man. I'm always a fan of pizza and beer, but when you have a pizza place with its own brewery inside, then you have a double win. This spot is truly a double win because they have great pizza AND great beer made right under the same roof. Mio's and Happy 2 Brewing make a perfect combination. I've been here before with my current coworkers and during a previous job. For this round, I decided to bring my lady along because I knew she would enjoy it too. We went on a Friday evening, and though it was pretty busy, we were sat right away and still got fantastic service. Our server was super friendly and very attentive. The place itself is much bigger than any other Mio's I've seen and has lots of indoor and outdoor seating. On weekend nights, they feature live music on a stage near the bar. So, of course, my lady and I started with a couple libations. My lady had a Chianti and I had the Happy 2 Cloudy Clough hazy IPA. Their drink menu is very nice and loaded with different wines, beers, and more. Pizza is the big draw on the food menu but they have plenty of other pub grub options as well. My lady and I decided on a 12" Pizza Blanca since it looked so good. We hardly waited long at all, despite how busy they seemed, before our pizza was ready. We both really enjoyed it and it paired well with both of our drinks. My IPA was very citrusy but also well-balanced and easy-sipping. After I was done with it, I decided to try the Also Amber, which our server recommended. Honestly, I thought it was one of the best and most complex ambers I've had in a while with flavors of hazelnut, coffee, minor caramel and mild citrusy bitterness. I think I liked it more than I liked the IPA. I really dig this spot and not just for pizza. Happy 2 Brewing deserves a LOT of recognition and I'm definitely a fan of their brews. This was our 4th trip to Mio's and second to this specific location. As I've previously stated they specialize in Chicago style deep dish pizza and they they do it really well. This time was no exception as we got the Meaty Stuffed Deep Dish Pizza which came stuffed with sausage, pepperoni, ham, and bacon along with tons of cheese. They put the red sauce on the top just like an authentic Chicago style pizza. The meat ingredients were plentiful and super delicious as was their cheese and sauce. The crust is really good too and makes for a proper base for all of that deliciousness. I can't recommend this pizza highly enough. It's the best Chicago style pizza that I've had in the Cincinnati Tristate area (if anybody knows one as good or better please let me know. I wanna try ) Also during this visit we tried a couple of appetizers the first being the Spicy Cheese Cubes. They were really tasty as well and a lot more spicy than I thought they'd be. It didn't say on the menu but it tasted like some habanero mixed in there. Whatever it was if you got a decent spice tolerance I highly recommend this. Lastly we got their Cheesy Garlic Bread which was pretty good. A nice crisp bread and a good amount of garlic and cheese on it. Don't know why, but I haven't been to Mio's in years. The last time was probably when my kids were young and we had an end of season soccer party. That's a shame because I realized what I'd been missing during a recent impromptu lunch visit. The Mio's on Clough has a nice little brewery attached to it, the Happy 2 Brewing Co., an addition since our soccer days, as well as a very friendly staff, a nice patio for eating out and a strong selection of pizza, calzones, salads, sandwiches, pasta and more. We had the fresh spinach, bacon, onion and tomato pizza, which comes on a very tasty and nicely crisp sesame seed crust. There's a wide variety of beers and wines available, too. I'll gladly go out of my way to go to this Mio's instead of the Mt. Washington one! (See my review and pictures there!!!). Consistently good pies, and they are done right. Pro Tip: get the sesame seed crust. It seems weird, but somehow it really works! Mio's is also where I fell in love with banana peppers on pizza(as a kid). Gotta do it! Sometimes I forget how much I enjoy Mio's pizza. Both their deep dish and regular style pizza really hit the spot. This last visit here was on a Saturday afternoon. Not too crowded outside of a hugely obnoxious group of people who we were seated near. They were over the top ridiculous for the time of day it was..they were who you would expect to have to deal with at a crowded bar at 1am on a Saturday night, not in a family restaurant on a Saturday afternoon, with a bunch of kids with them to boot. Alas, we were not going to let this ruin our meal, it actually served as light entertainment with overhearing and watching how crazy they were acting. Anywho, we decided to go with some mozzarella sticks for an appetizer this time instead of our go to cheese bread..which is delicious here. We wanted to try something different and the mozzarella sticks were really good..crisp, hot, and gooey with cheese. They came out super fast too which was nice. We went with a regular style pizza with half four cheese blend and half pepperoni and banana peppers. It was delicious. The crust was crisp, the sauce was seasoned nicely, the cheese and the toppings were of a perfect proportion. As I was eating it I was able to take a step back and recognize that it is a very tasty top notch pizza. The service here was good. Everyone was super nice. I guess they could've recognized how loud and obnoxious that group was and made an effort not to sit us right next to them since the rest of the restaurant was pretty empty, but that's okay. What a shame. I wanted to have a good experience here and the vegan hoagie option had me excited. We stopped with the kids around 4pm on a Thursday so the place was not at all crowded. I was excited about other reviews stating a robust offering of draft beers and the fact they brew their own beers. Well, the 2 beers they brew in house are sample only because they don't have the license completed or whatever is needed to actually sell you a glass of it! When I asked for the Scotch Ale they were out. Then it was they were out of all that brand. Then i was like what DO you have? All of what was left was IPAs and a nitro so I asked for a sample but it was not good. My wife did order a beer but it took about 15 to get it. On the positive, the vegan, GF hoagie was pretty good. I really like the bun. The side of tomatoes were not great. All that being said, I want to give them another shot. I'm hopeful the Scotch and Cream ales are on tap next time and maybe they get the home draft brew situation settled. The kids liked their fries and cheese pizza and drawing on the paper tablecloth. I really want to like it here. With some work to improve some basic issues it could be a good family spot. As of right now, though it's a bit of a disappointment and that same amount of money spent could buy you a better meal and exclusive elsewhere. read more

Food is good... Like other Mio's. What makes this place better is the beer and the service. I am a fan of the Happy 2 beers, so if there are any on draft, give it/them a try. The bar is also good about keeping other quality brews on draft. As far as the service goes, you will see regular faces on staff that are always friendly. Now, it may be my current state of social deprivation, but everyone I interacted with, on the phone and in person, during my most recent visit was even friendlier. [TLDR]Solidly good thin-crust pizza on a good chewy crust with an excellent\wide selection of toppings, plus a good stuffed pie[/TLDR] Mios has been a family favorite of ours for going on two decades. 6 years ago, we lived in the Mt Washington area, and we stopped in regularly at the location at the corner of Sutton and Salem. We've since moved, and the while the newly remodeled\expanded location at 8 Mile and Clough is much closer, it doesn't have quite the homey charm of the original Fortunately, an identical menu is served My personal favorite is the stuffed crust pizza, which I think is the very best we have here in Cincinnati (sorry Bourbon House, but I do like yours too!). I know several previous residents of Chicago, and they have told me that the stuffed crust pizza at Mios is every bit as good as the stuffed crust pizza at Chicago's own Giordanos. I've had both as well, and concur. I will say that I prefer the smoother sauce they use on the thin-crusted pies in place of the chunkier sauce used on the stuffed crust pizzas. YMMV. The thin crust pizza is a bit unusual in that it is exceptionally chewey and also because they reserve some of the sauce until after baking and add it on top of the cheese. This results in some spots being more sauce-y than others. The cheese is of excellent quality, no complaints there. They have a larger-than-usual selection of available toppings, with all the usual standards and a few unusual ones, and they do not charge extra for the more unusual ones. A multi grain crust is also available. I am not a fan of their calzones simply because they do not put ricotta cheese in them. To me, this is one of the three required ingredients for a calzone. However, the steak hoagie (two sizes available) is pretty good, and they do have both the traditional style with pizza sauce and the somewhat less oft-seen version with mushroom gravy. I recommend avoiding the meatball hoagie - I dont think the meatballs are made in-house, and this was not a good sandwich. The pastas are decent, but nothing especially good or unusual - ravioli, lasagna, and the like. It is nice that these tend to come baked in their own casserole dish, crowned with a layer of browned mozzerella I do not recommend their salads. They look like something you'd make up at home, with nothing special about them whatsoever. Skip. The french onion soup on the other hand is quite good. I like how they keep kids occupied. On certain days, they are presented with their own lump of pizza dough to make their own. Everyday, the tables are covered in white paper and there are plenty of crayons, and before the meal arrives the table is covered in fabulous artwork and completed games of tic-tac-toe. If you dont have a coupon, check the website before you go. There are usually at least 3 coupons online, often including BOGO offers. If you're there on Mon or Tuesday, I believe they have a 9.99 special for a 15" cheese pizza, no coupon needed. This location did deliver at one time, but does not at present. I hope this service returns soon The lot here has TONS of parking wrapping all the way around the building Don't forget to grab some (free) candy-covered chocolate mints on your way out. Mio's is a a great place to eat. It's our go to option when we can't agree where to go, because we always love Mios. Beer. They may not have 50 on tap, it's about 8, but their selections are impeccable. Mio's is a good Italian restaurant that has had humble beginnings in the area, supported by the community and has given back some great Italian food. When my family went to the restaurant, we thought that the decor was a little flat, but the menu popped. All your standards are available: pizza, pasta, etc. I am an unabashed fan of salad bars, so the presence of a salad bar at this location was a huge plus for me. I wasn't super hungry so a salad bar coupled with a small cup of soup was plenty for me. The rest of my family got sandwiches and pasta dishes and all of them were good. It may not be the most authentic Italian I've ever had, but their American interpretation is just as good, if not better, than your standard Olive Garden. read more

My dad and I drove to this Mio's for my nieces 4 year old birthday party. It is in a part of town I am totally clueless about so I used Google driving directions. It turns out that Google is clueless also. It took me through the intersection where the restaurant is located 4 times. Then thankfully my concerned brother called and was able to direct me there. This brings up my first concern with this Mio's. They have very bad signing. The one street sign is tan in color with small white lettering. The sign on the building is very small for a building sign that is not near the street. If you do not know where the place is the signs will not help. Hell even Google was confused! Stepping inside I was thrilled to finally be at the party. The party section is the back right corner of the restaurant with seating along the wall and several tables for party necessities. Overall this space is very adequate. My niece had a great party. Our server was friendly & checked in regularly with us with water and for bar drinks. I do have an issue with the pizza though. We had an assortment of thin crust large pizzas to eat that day. The one with barbecue sauce was pretty good but the sauce was unevenly distributed. Every pizza had an outside crust ring of at least 2 or more inches without sauce, cheese & toppings. At $17.99 per pizza this is not a good value. Then there is the one pizza without sauce that I tried. The crust was hard and had no flavor. This pizza had even less cheese. With a topping of just a few vegetables it was a truly a terrible pizza. Good luck with the new salad bowl. If you like to mix the dressing around in the salad, you will lose 1/2 the salad on the table/in your lap/the floor. Service was decent, for an odd dinner time. I would not order the "Jumbo" wings again. They were the tiniest most pathetic excuse for a wing I have ever been served. Sauce was basic Buffalo, not bad. Olive Garden has them beat and here's why. I actually didn't like my pizza - not the crust not the sauce not the cheese or toppings. How can you NOT like pizza right? And we asked to be outside, but wished we didn't. There was BIRD'S NEST over the door to outside dining. All dinner long a family of birds tweeting while waiters walked back and forth underneath them. And it isn't a big patio either so like they're right there. Mio's stuffed pizza ... yum. My family likes the fact that Mio's puts the cheese and other ingredients you choose (like sausage, spin age and mushrooms) on the inside with a thin but adequate layer of incredibly fresh tomato sauce on top. The crust is just out of this world with the pie sitting about an inch and a quarter high. I like to eat and this is definitely one of my favorites. Another favorite is their calzones There are lots of variety to choose from here the Hawaiian calzone is excellent. read more

Ordered the Virginia BBQ Chicken pizza. They left off the red onion and bbq sauce. Used very little chicken. Basically a bacon pizza. Left a complaint online but never got a response. I don't think they care. Been going to the Mariemont location for years but a recent move has the Clough location closer but Mariemont is worth the drive. read more
