Okay, I understand the hype! Bourbon House Pizza does Chicago deep dish pizza perfectly. My husband and I split one of the supreme pizzas and got Italian sausage and mushrooms in it. It was honestly so delicious, and oddly enough was even better reheated the next day! (Reheated great in a toaster oven) It also came out quicker than I expected. (With it being Chicago deep dish, I was prepared to wait!) We also got their appetizer sampler. The items were good, but the pizza balls definitely stood out! The dough was so fantastic and clearly homemade. It was perfectly buttery and flaky, yet firm structural. The sauce was also delicious. A must: pairing everythingggg with their house made ranch. My brother got a steak hoagie and was pretty disappointed when a small sandwich with a meat patty and a side of potato chips is what came out. It just didn't match the caliber of the pizza at all. We also got to Italian sub style hoagies, and those were both small and underwhelming as well. The dining room had a bit of a disheveled feel but I couldn't quite put my finger on what was off. We visited Bourbon House for Father's Day and intentionally arrived early before the rush. Although there was one large party, the staff seemed very discombobulated. We had 4 different servers checking on us, but never at efficient times. We wouldn't see anyone for 15 minutes and then they'd all check on us at once. There was a younger boy working that was walking around with longer hair and he kept ruffling his hair as he walked through the restaurant which was off-putting. The food was exceptional; we started with the meatballs which we devoured too fast for a picture. The supreme pizza was phenomenal and our group of four couldn't even finish the large. We stopped in before a show at Southgate House. It was a Friday and we made reservations for 5:30. Reservations at this time were not needed; it was not crowded. The restaurant was clean and comfortable. They have outside seating, which could be nice in the right weather, though the area is just feet from the main drag. Our server was fine. I have no real recollection of them. We ordered a deep dish, looking to find a pizza as good as Zachary's in California. Bourbon House Pizza is not as good as Zachary's, but it is the best deep dish pizza we've tried in the Cincinnati area since we've been back in Cincinnati since 2021. We made our own pizza in an attempt to match our favorite - spinach and mushrooms. It was good. I enjoyed the sauce on top. Under the sauce, the cheese was very thick making the overall taste of the pizza very cheesy. We had a similarly cheese deep dish in Chicago. Our pizza at Bourbon House was better. I will say the crust is thick. I would have eaten the crust if there had only been two pieces per person. Since I was faced with potentially eating four pieces, I opted to skip the crust. One of our group asked if she could order from the kid's menu. The server had no issue with the request. Oddly enough, her meal was huge! We were all surprised it was a kid's meal. Our fourth ordered a small pizza. It looked like it had pineapple on it. I didn't ask how it was, but he ate every bite. It must have been a small and it was the perfect single serving size. Oh... we ordered a medium deep dish. It was eight pieces and was too much for two people. Because we were going to a show after dinner, we didn't box up the leftover two pieces. We wanted to check this place out because of the Chicago style deep dish pizza. We walked in and were immediately seated on a Friday night around 7pm. We hadn't been to Newport on the levee in a while and were quite surprised at how few people were around. Idk if it's normally like this now or if something was going on, but it was kind of shocking. We got the pretzels and cheese appetizer, which was good. We know deep dish takes longer to make and cook, but we didn't see our waitress or our pizza for an hour after we ordered. The pizza was good, not great. I can describe it as the thickness and weight that most people that haven't had a real deep dish would think it should be. The crust is very dense, not light and airy. It's also kind of spicy, which I liked, but my wife didn't. It was kind of loud, even though there weren't very many people in there. They also have TVs with sports on all over, so it's kind of a sports bar/sit down restaurant. We would recommend it and would probably go back. read more

Wow! Stopped in tonight on a whim since my last experience was so good. I dined in this time and was greeted by Mary, one of the owners. She is precious absolutely love her! The inside is so cute and gives a very intimate trattoria feel. Decided to go for a more traditional meal tonight and had the Baked Spaghetti and Meatballs. It came with a generous tossed salad and your choice of garlic bread or breadsticks. I chose the breadsticks since they are house made. I'm thoroughly pleased with my choices. We saw this place the last time we visited the area but didnt make it in. So this time we were staying in a nearby hotel and walked here for lunch. It was cozy with th3 decor and fireplace. We started with pizza dough wrapped meatballs and one of the better ranches I've tasted in awhile. Then we got the bourbon house special pizza, that ricotta was so creamy (and im notna ricotta fan) with sausage and mushrooms was delicious. I have been there several times and enjoyed it. Today I took my wife for lunch. As you can see on the check she ordered a Cappicola Hoagie with light dressing. When it came out she took one bite and hated it. Not only did she not like the flavor but it was soaking in dressing. We called our server over and told her. She offered to remake the sandwich. I asked about getting my wife something else. The answer was sure but I can't take the sandwich off the bill. So we can remake a sandwich she hates but can't get something else unless we pay for it? The server came back and said the owner agreed to take off half. This is the absolute first time I have ever been told I have to pay for horrible food that I didn't eat. They have no parking so you have to pay for that. Their prices are not cheap. The food is ok. Not the best pizza I've ever had. Bottom line you lost a customer and got a bad review over $6.00. Great business model. Perhaps you should read the attached information I found when searching How much can a bad review potentially cost your business? Was it worth $6.00 you took from me? The only positive was the server was good and polite. I could have taken the sandwich out of her tip but poor ownership/management isn't her fault. ........ I saw the review response on another site and I contacted the store to discuss the situation. The lady who answered the phone was nice and ask me to hold. I waited for 9 1/2 minutes listening to the noise in the background and the phone being moved around. I hung up and called back and the manager answered. I explained that I was calling back and was left on hold. No apology just that she got busy. I then told her I was calling because the response to my review suggested it. She said the response was automated and not from them. We talked about the situation with the sandwich. She said they offered to remake it and my wife refused. That they could have left the dressing off. I told her my wife didn't care for the sandwich itself or the dressing. That making over would not have helped. Why remake a sandwich she didn't like the flavor of? She was very defensive and never once apologized trying to argue with me about the quality of her sandwich. She questioned what kind of restaurants we frequent. Chains, small mom and pop places or what? I tried to explain to her that I have never been anywhere that made you pay for food you didn't like. Be it a fast food place to a 5 Star restaurant. She said that they make that sandwich several times a day and it's a good sandwich. That they can't afford to just give away money because someone doesn't like it. Very rude and defensive never once offering any kind of apology. The only positive thing to the visit was the server. She was nice and polite. She made the best of the situation despite being in the middle. I left her a 20% tip for her service not the restaurant's. In case the business owner can't figure it out. You obviously need the $6.00 more than I do. I could care less about the money. It's the principle and how you treat people that matters. read more

My husband and I barely get time to go out alone so today when we finally did we wanted to try something new. Bourbon house was his choice because we sampled the pizza while at Best of NKY. This pizza does not disappoint! It's so good. We were there as soon as they opened (actually a few minutes early) and we were welcomed right in. Our server was very fast and answered all of our questions. We sat at a booth but the bar area even looked like it would be a nice place to come and have a slice. I got a house salad, we shared some garlic knots and we got a large half and half deep dish pizza (one half was bbq chicken and the other was 3 meats). Had to try it because we were wanting some Chicago Deep Dish pizza. We got the meat supreme with meatballs, italian sausage and bacon. It was really good. The only thing was the crust wasn't as good as Giordano's which is bigger, slightly crunchy, more pastry-like. We had one server who did not seem to comprehend anything we said. But the other server who also bartended was great. The only thing was we were told they could not make a Manhattan which is a very SIMPLE drink. So we got our bourbon on the rocks which was fine. Great pizza and great service. They have a dog bowl outside the patio, so I can only assume dogs are allowed on the patio. The pizza and garlic knots were both great. It was a crowed Saturday night and the service was also great, it seemed like they all helped each other so we had several people checking on us throughout dinner. We ordered and appetizer and dinner at the same time, but both came out at good times (had plenty of time to relax and eat appetizer before the main came out). We visited this location on Friday night around 9pm. Sat at the bar and ordered wings and a veggie deep dish. The ranch dressing is very good. I can see why you bottle and sell it. It was getting close to closing time so we went ahead and paid our tab to enjoy a slice before driving 45mins home. ( attempting to connivence the bartender) Unfortunately, the server rang in the wrong pizza and we were very disappointed. We were at your establishment for over an hour to only eat wings. We were offered to remake the pizza but after waiting for over a half an hour my husband was ready to leave. I understand mistakes are made. I worked at the Cheesecake Factory in Kenwood for 19yrs. Things happen. I am writing this to complain about how the mistake was handled. We had to do wait for the shift leader to come over and hand us $40 in cash (we paid with card and I am assuming you can not void a transaction?) we weren't offered a sandwich to go. We weren't offered a salad. Nothing but sorry. Please come back. No sir no ma'am. We should have been offered a gift card to return. There was no sincerity in the apology. I am writing this to empower your staff to take care of the guest. I have been wanting to try this place since our daughter lived at aqua over a year ago. You guys killed it with us. The lack of sincerity was felt. Working in the restaurant business, I know that staff makes mistakes towards the end of the night resulting in food being distributed to staff. My family and I stopped in here for supper while on a road trip from Lousiville to Columbus Ohio. I'm a huge fan of deep dish Chicago style Pizza and bourbon so this place was practically made for me. We showed up on a later Friday night and our family of 7 was able to be seated after about a 5 minute wait. So not too bad. The inside is medium sized and pretty jam packed. They have a bourbon bar as the name suggest and a nice modern and sleek look for the decor. We went with a large deep dish cheese. It was a Lenten Friday so we stuck with just the cheese. My wife added a house salad as well. I'll start of admitting Chicago deep dish is my favorite style of pizza. So I may be biased. However the entire family agreed this was a good pizza. Sauce was really sweet and a nice compliment to the crust and cheese. Now does it surpass Chicago deep dish giants giodanos or Lou malanatis? No, but for being a place that didn't originate in Chicago it is maybe the best I've had. Overall a great visit with yummy pizza and good service. We had three checks and the server did a wonderful job of keeping track of which person belonged to which family. The food was great, large portions! Looking for something other than our regular pizza places (Adriatico's and Dewey's,) my wife and I decided to try Bourbon House. We were greeted and seated quickly and our drink order was almost immediate. After some discussion we decided on Garlic Knots and a Large Chi Town Favorite (sausage mushroom and onion) deep dish pizza. The timing on the garlic knots was slow, but once they arrived all was well. They seemed a little underdone in the middle, having us question whether there was cheese present. There was not. The pizza arrived and we knew it would be big, lunches later in the week big, but this was bigger than expected. The sauce was flavorful and fresh, but it overpowered the toppings. I only knew there were onions from the crunch and the sausage and mushrooms were visible, but the taste was beyond subtle. Plus the crust wasn't the buttery almost pastry style you get in Chicago, but we are in Cincinnati so we get what we get. We'll go back again and try the traditional pizza and see how that goes. read more

SO GOOD! We came on a Friday night with no reservations and we're seated immediately with the choice of inside or patio....of course we took the patio because the weather was too good to not. We started off with the jalapeño poppers and WOW.The sauce with the cream cheese was just amazing it was sweet and savory and a perfect beginning. We got a medium deep dish veggie pizza (that's what they're known for right!) and it was amazing. The CRUST...was so good doughy but crispy and not a crust you want to discard of. The ranch is house made and I am a pizza and ranch enthusiast so that means a lot to me personally. All in all the meal was fairly priced and a taste of Chicago without the travel! read more

WOW! This place had been on our list for awhile and we finally made it over here. We happened to be there on half priced wine night (Wednesday) and a bottle for $11 was a hell of a deal. We went with the deep dish pizza, which was HUGE, we will get three meals out of it. It was super good, and more importantly, hot all the way through, which is not always the case with deep dish. Most importantly, the staff was over the top friendly. As we were leaving, I noticed a note on the door that they were closing early that night, we had overstayed that time by a half hour and they never made us feel like we were imposing. They asked the person in front of us "how many?" Both are a party of two so the host went to check on available tables. Quite a bit more time has passed and more people arrived behind us. A different not came out and started chatting with someone in the back of the line that they clearly knew. Thankfully the original host arrived and told them who arrived in what order. This new host told the first person that a table wasn't quite ready yet and to please wait. Then they proceeded to try to help the large groups with their friend but the original host reminded them that we were next. We were quoted a 20 minute wait.
