It was our first time visiting Mirabelles, and it did not disappoint. Upon entering the establishment we were immediately greeted by Dom, the owner of the restaurant, who kindly sat us at the bar as we requested. The atmosphere was very welcoming - We honestly compared the vibe to Goodfellas/Encore in New Haven, except more casual and easy-going, if that makes sense. We ordered the New York strip steak and the Veal Sorrentino and both dishes were *chef's kiss*. The only thing better than the food were the drinks. I highly recommend the espresso martini. We wanted to try this place having lived in the area for years. Went late on a Saturday night and there was only one other party in the place. The restaurant was dark, ambiance stale, and decor was almost non existent. I was shocked to learn they have no beer on tap, but the wine selection was fair. Service was fast and cordial. We ordered the fried mozzarella appetizer. It was HUGE! Honestly could have been an entree. It was really good, too! The side salads were acceptable. Our meals were the chicken and eggplant parm special and chicken picatta dinner. Again, portions were huge! We both really enjoyed our dinners. Sauces were very good, chicken was excellent (albeit a bit thick) and the eggplant was delicious. The owner said hello to us when he heard it was our first visit. He even gave us complementary after dinner drinks! The food was very good, service prompt, and it was nice for the owner to reach out to us. Minus one star because the place is overdue for a remodel. Ok I am not a big fan of Italian food but good Lord was this place amazing, The service from the very second we got there was perfect, everyones very inviting the place feels like your home the vibe was fun and relaxing at the same time. Now the food...You know when somethings so good you just keep eating even though you know you should stop for the sake of the button on your jeans? Yea thats this spot right here. No joke i can almost hear my jeans about to pop open from how stuffed I was lol I just kept eating though. The first time i came here it was a birthday and we got a free slice of cake and i hate cake but this one was so good it had little chocolate chips in it. The owner gave us a free drink my honey grabbed a beer and I had a martini that almost got me drunk lol it was super strong but very good. Guys the food here its just UGH i have no words all I know is on my wobble out to my car with my take home baggie im thinking about what I plan to get the next time i come. So I have never ate calamari with the "works" which was hot peppers and blue cheese and you guys I tell you if theres a finger worth licking at a restaurant its the ones you used to grab those bad boys. I have come here twice now and to be honest i plan on a return often especially now that I am a local. Great food, great people and fabulous service. Just a little advice though. I bought a gift cert here for my friend and she ended up bringing me to dinner!!! When I bought the cert the owner was very gracious and offered me a free glass of wine which I surely took up!! So onto dinner... We ordered caprese salad and it was okay. It really needed fresh basil which they didn't have, strange... but okay! I ordered the chicken florentine, which was amazing. The pasta fagioli that came with the meal was very salty and more like minestrone. My gf got the gnocchi with vodka sauce. She said it was good , but she loves pasta!!! Have eaten here a couple of times, for my birthday earlier in the year with a large group and today for lunch with my daughter. The dinner menu in the Spring was great, with seafood and a huge selection of Italian offerings and that meal and experience probably would have earned 4 stars by itself. The lunch menu however is very limited, made more so by several of the items being out of stock. The food is probably worth 2 stars, which was why the overall 3 star rating. The Caesar salad croutons are store bought, as was the dressing which was also very sparse. The Eggplant Rollatini (appetizer), my favorite Italian dish, was again, OK. I found the sauce to be very watery and bland, more like canned crushed tomatoes than sauce, and really needing the grated cheese and dried hot pepper to bring some flavor. The usual ham/prosciutto layer was missing which took a lot away from the dish, but the eggplant was crispy and not mushy like some places. The bread, which had to be requested, was good but I believe also store bought. The place is very dark, we were not offered water (though there were glasses on the table), or refills on sodas and for a burger, salad and appetizer with 2 sodas the bill came to $32 which I find a little steep for the quality. The service was pleasant enough but IF we return it will be for dinner where the are specials and not lunch. read more

A good friend of mine strongly recommended Mirabelle's years ago, but did I listen - No! Well, fast forward to four years later. We finally decided to try Mirabelle's last night and what an experience! We were promptly seated even though we didn't have a reservation. Service was quick and exceptional! We ordered the eggplant rollatini appetizer which was cooked to perfection. Then while enjoying our healthy glasses of wine, dinner arrived. The serving sizes were very generous and we immediately dug in. I ordered the veal parmigiana which took up most of the plate and cooked the way veal parmigiana should be cooked. Copious, tender on the inside with a little crisp on the outside and topped with fresh mozzarella and delicious red sauce accompanied by perfectly cooked penne. My wife ordered the Shrimp Margarita in a light cream sauce. Again, spectacular! The jumbo shrimp was sautéed and very tasty - the cream sauce was light and properly seasoned giving the dish a unique flavor. Plus small cherry tomatoes, delicately steamed broccoli and fresh chunks of mozzarella which tasted homemade. We were told that the chef (who is the owner's son) trained in Calabria, Italy. The meal finished with coffee and a cannoli to round off what I consider a perfect meal. My only regret was that I hadn't taken my friend's advice years ago when she first recommended Mirabelle's to me. I'm of Italian descent and know good food and wine - if I could, I would give Mirabelle's a 10 star rating. Go and enjoy! read more

This is the first time I've been to Mirabelle's since it used to be Dom's Brickhouse. My wife recently went there with the kids for lunch one day the previous week and stated she had the best veal parm, and for my Italian wife who cooks all the time that says a lot. So she wanted to go back for dinner with myself and the kids. I was surprised how nice the interior was as that it also had a full bar. We were promptly greeted and seated. My wife ordered eggplant rollatini for an app, then stuffed salmon. I ordered some boneless buffalo wings and pene al vodka w/ chicken. My wife had no complaints about her dinner. My boneless wings were basically kids chicken tenders with sauce on them. I probably should of known better. My pasta was ok, the only complaint is that I wish the sauce was a little creamier, otherwise I think overall our experience was pretty good. There was a decent dinner crowd, the bar had people In there, I'm sure I'll be back. Total bill w/ 3 kids and 2 adults $100. 8/8/18 Took the family out for my wife's birthday dinner, wanted to be something close and local. The chicken piccata was off the hook, wife's veal was amazing! We both got a side of roasted veggies, the Smokey taste was perfect. Kids ordered of the kids menu, kids loved their food. One of them ordered the kids cheese burger, this thing was HUGE! I complimented the chef for an amazing dinner. Think we'll be going back there more often, keep up the good work! This place was way better than I expected and to tell you the truth I wasn't expecting much. But Mirabelle's proved me all wrong! When my friend and I were approaching the door the owner held the door open for us and welcomed us. This was a nice touch and I was almost instantly sold. They sat us down and we were promptly greeted by our very sweet server, she was attentive and very helpful. My friend and I both had wine to drink and my friend ordered steak and I got the chicken and broccoli pasta. The size of my dish was perfect! It was not a huge portion that no human could finish in one sitting that you get at most places. I ended up finishing my dish and was dreaming about how tasty it was for days. My wife and I were interested in booking our rehearsal dinner with Mirabelle's because it was right down the street from our reception hall. So one day we went there for a lunch date to test out the food without telling the manager we wanted to book them. We tried it and WOW! When I tell you I have never been so impressed with a restaurant's sauce... I had the veal parm, and my then fiancé ordered penne ala vodka with chicken (I just asked her, that was about six months ago, and she still remembers what she ordered... that oughta tell you something). The waiter was friendly, kind, and very knowledgable about the food and even recommended which entrée to try during our first visit. He personally made our drinks and they were so good, too. Our second visit was great too, it was when we booked our rehearsal dinner. We brought along a couple with whom we like to do doubled dates. And they're hard to impress! But Mirabelle's did it. I had to order the sauce alone that night for the bread because their sauce is just so good! And finally, for our rehearsal dinner... the staff was friendly and Dominick, the owner, kept personally coming out with a smile on his face to check on us, bring water to the table, take dirty dishes away, etc. You can tell this man is passionate about his restaurant. I loved the food and everyone seemed very impressed with what my wife and I had chosen as as our rehearsal dinner location. The food was fresh and very tasty. Highly recommend the grilled salmon with roasted peppers. The staff was attentive, polite, and quick. Definitely would not go back!! We decided to go out for a quick bite and decided to patronize one of our local restaurants. Pulled into the parking lot and it was packed, unfortunately, not good for our restaurant selection as most were next door at the other restaurant. Sat at the bar and ordered a drink. When the bartender arrived with my martini, we questioned her about it as the drink was about 2/3 full. Her response was "you got your money's worth". We both sat there stunned. Mind you we go out often and I retired from the industry so we rarely complain. Ordered an appetizer and a burger. Appetizer was ok, burger had so many onions on it, it was overpowering unless taking them off, literally there was about 1/3 of an onion on it. Bartender basically ignored us the entire time as she was too busy complaining to the other 2 ppl at the bar about how she is leaving this job to work more hours at her other job because she makes more money there. The biggest shocker was when she gave us the bill and we noticed a $6 plate sharing charge because my wife and I shared the burger????? NEVER have we ever been charged a plate sharing charge at a bar to share a burger. It was at that point we understood why the place was nearly empty at 7pm on a Saturday night. read more

Today I stopped at Dom's for lunch with a coworker. This is the second time I've been to Dom's. The first time was about a year ago when my other coworker and I struck up a conversation outside with Dom, himself. He ended up inviting us inside the restaurant and we sat at the bar and he treated us to a free meal. His bartender is sweet good-fella-esque kinda guy who has known the owner for many years. Today I shared their pear salad as an appetizer and had the eggplant panini. I substituted the cup of soup for ..... sweet potato fries ( for a nominal substitution fee) The salad was excellent, it has sliced pears, pine nuts and Gorgonzola cheese, and comes with Vidallia vinaigrette dressing. The sweet potato french fries were great, they had a mildly sweet flavor and we ordered sour cream on the side. I was impressed with how thinly sliced the breaded eggplant was on the sandwich. My only suggestion was a softer roll would make it easier to stay whole as you make your way eating the halves of the sandwich. My coworker is nine months preggers and all the staff ( cook, waiter, and bartenders ) came out of their respective stations as we left to ask her questions about the gender, name and due date of the baby. Being new to the area my fiance and I decided we wanted some pizza. We wanted to find a local restaurant where we can sit in. Following our GPS to a pizza joint with fairly good reviews we found out that the place was strictly take out only. Having no idea where to go we drove down the street a little and saw Dom's Brick House. I immediately thought it was a brick oven pizza restaurant. Upon entering and sitting down I was absolutely wrong. Already sitting down we both decided to just go ahead and order. I ordered the pork chops with Marsala sauce and the fiance ordered shrimp Alfredo. The prices were a tad on the high side from what we were use to, her dish being 20 USD and mine being pretty close to that. After seeing the dishes come out I understood why. The servings are generous and after one bite of the pork chops I was hooked. I didn't know pork chops could be so juicy. I tried some of my fiancee's shrimp Alfredo and it was definitely better then standard affair. The shrimps were also bigger than what we would normally get and again generous with portion. We both enjoyed our meals very much and think the food deserves 5 stars. Why than only four stars? Well the wait staff was also fine and the booths were comfortable, but my only complaint was the loud music blasting in the background. We figured that there must be a dance studio in the basement or next door to this complex which gave it a very club like feel even though it was an intimate dinner setting. This made the meal very distracting in any attempts to carry a quiet conversation. This was the only reason why Dom's receives a 4/5. Family owned and operated so the service is always great and friendly! They have a great "Surf and Turf" dish with a nice steak and lobster! I had a wonderful lite dinner with my father. We each ordered two appetizers, I added a side salad, plus we each had a cocktail and our bill was about $40. My pasta fagioli soup was flavorful and filled the hearty vegetables, beans and pasta. My dads seafood chowder looked equally good and for a man who doesn't eat a lot his cup disappeared without hesitation. The seafood stuffed mushrooms were enormous and the meatballs equally robust. We both took half of our second appetizers home. Best of all, the service was superb. We were seated immediately upon entering and beverages were delivered without pause. Our empty plates were cleared efficiently and timely. I felt well-cared-for while dining. At first glance the atmosphere seems a bit stark, but once seated I realized that we'll thought-out decor allows each booth to be its own haven. I quickly become oblivious to the rest of the diners.
