Although the website lists the included tasks, the differences in pricing and service levels were not clearly explained. I hope the company will improve transparency around pricing, provide clearer communication, and that customer service will keep its promises in the future. The quote was online and I loved their written sales pitch…read more Service techs arrived at the tail-end of the window (10-12pm, arrived at 12:04pm) and I had to call/email to ensure they were indeed arriving. I prefer companies being proactive. Their verbal quote in person felt like bait-and-switch, as it was not anywhere near the online quote. I had turned down other options as I liked the online bid. I explained this to the techs, and they were able to "negotiate" a better price (slightly higher than my online bid) so it was not exactly what I expected. What I liked is the job was complete on the day I requested. The techs tried upselling me in person, didn't give me anything in writing, and kind of hesitated when I'd explained I wanted them to either take off their shoes or wear booties, as the floor was recently cleaned. Again, they did the job on the day I'd requested and came highly reviewed, but I still have not received a written receipt (it's been nearly a week) and I don't care for the upselling when everything on the price menu is online. As they were able to finish one home I hired them to do another, based on time. Would I hire again, I'd give them a 3/5 stars, so not necessarily. It was 100% based on scheduling on why they got my business and they sold me on the instant reply and online menu, but I wasn't impressed with the mess (had to vacuum after they came) and the upselling and their hesitation of booties. I also prefer precision (screwing in all vents) over rushing for a completion. I had to run around and ask them to put the vent covers back on. They asked me to write a check to a "new company" and that seemed sketchy/uncomfortable too as I thought I'd hired Evergreen Air...

Tsaras, on 1 July 2026 did an outstanding job, highly recommend him and will, if need service again, ask Gene Johnson Plumbing to send him to do the work if possible, I have have had other service techs from this company too to work for me, they always do an outstanding job and go out of their way to keep me appraised of when they will arrive on site

We were charged $2,587.00 for less than 5 hours of work (Ring Camera shows 3 hours 42 minutes in the home), and that time is inclusive of accepting/making personal phone calls outside, plus multiple trips to stores because he was not prepared. According to other plumbers, there was approximately $100 in actual wholesale parts involved for this job. He charged: $316. to install 3 screws on a $15. part, $639. to replace 3 valves (less than 1 hour), as he said "easy job" for a minor re-route of sink trap $1,103. plus tax which took less than an hour, and $415. to install a basic plug-in dishwasher. I spoke with 4 plumbers at different stores and EVERYONE said the fees he charged are outrageous! They also made additional comments which I won't mention here. Other plumber's estimates were $1200. to $1400. for the exact work inclusive of parts and labor. When my wife questioned Gene about the charges initially, he raised his voice to her (which he denies now). After several requests, calling the office, they did not and will not provide an hourly rate or parts costs, which is typical in the plumbing trade. So, if you are trusting like us, you may have a nasty surprise at the end. He asks you to sign a blank I-Pad after work is completed, saying "Sign here that you accept my job and allow me to charge your card." This is before you have any idea what the total amount is since the screen has nothing on it! Later he says "You accepted the job." Several days later we received a receipt via email later. Most disturbing are many blatant lies including: "I told you the water sensor would be $275." He never said that, and his invoice, if you subtract the dishwasher install, is $286. plus tax. I saw the water sensor at a box store a week before he came to our home for $15.. Why would I agree to pay $316. to install 3 screws? He said in an email that he discussed approximate pricing. That is absolutely not true! In addition, Gene started backpedaling and became defensive mentioning 4 other un-truths in his emails. To make matters worse, immediately after Gene left, the pipes under the sink are loudly knocking even with no water on. So now we have to call another plumber to troubleshoot and fix whatever Gene did. Life is short, plus we believe in karma, so we want to help others to avoid being ripped off. As seniors, he took advantage of us. Please be careful if you decide to use Gene Johnson!
