After looking through many reviews online, we decided to go check out Max Heat showroom (Crown Hill area). Max was great. Knowledgeable and patient. He answered all the questions we had and helped guide us in the right direction! He supplied us with a few brochures, and we went on our way. He sent us a few quotes based on the inserts we were looking at in the shop. We landed on the Solas 48. Since we were taking care of the build out ourselves, I had a lot of questions on how to do so correctly. Max was so helpful in helping us with the schematics and how to build the platform for the insert to sit on. We had to build it perfectly so the fireplace window was centered in the facade. We paid a 50% deposit for the insert, and it was ordered. He kept us in the loop on order status, and was able to schedule the install once he had a firm delivery date. The day Max and his wife came out to do the install, it was one of the hottest days of the summer (go figure!) I had the AC cranked up for them so they were comfortable during the install! They did a wonderful job! Very efficient, friendly and professional! They showed me how to work the controls and recommend I run the fireplace for 3 hours to do the burn off. (This didn't happen until fall!) We love our fireplace! It turned out beautifully! (We outsourced slabs of porcelain for the surround.) We highly recommend Max Heat for any fireplace needs! They are amazing at what they do!!

tldr - if it's related to HVAC, call the installer of your HVAC system if possible…read more I called Green Bear to take a look at an HVAC system (on second floor) that was leaking water on the 1st floor ceiling (due to AC condensation). They sent someone over, who didn't really open the HVAC system panel much. I didn't seem confident that this would fix it. But they recommended to fix the drain pan inside the evaporator coil box, which they said was much more expensive. For clearing the drain pipe and gluing a loose pipe, which didn't actually fix the main problem, they still billed me $300 - diagnostic fee ($99) + 1 hour ($199) - (there's a 3% credit card fee, but they accept checks) 4 or 5 hours later, there was dripping again. I ended up calling Bob's, they sent 2 technicians who knew what they were doing (they opened the panel properly), they found and fixed the issue - it did not involve replacing a drain pan. Bob's only charged me the diagnostic fee of $175 and did the job right (compared to $300 that Green Bear charged)

He is VERY in tune with maintaining high customer satisfaction. He was also conscious of making sure no carbon monoxide would creep into the house. Excellent! In March we scheduled an appointment on a Saturday and they were able to come and clean the chimney within 48 hrs. It was nice that they were open on a Saturday! The tech was wonderful, showed up on time and thoroughly cleaned the chimney, even patched some cracks in the fire box and painted it black since the cement was white and it didn't look good when the rest was black! Throughout the job he was constantly and patiently explaining what he was doing and why also showing me the dirt he was vacuuming. This was the most thorough cleaning and the best customer service along with the price. We weren't charged extra for patching the cracks like the previous company did 2 years earlier. That's why we did not use that company again. MK home service has been amazing and we're so impressed with them. Even offered a discount if we were going to post a review. They also repaired window trim bricks to coordinate with my window replacement, and gave me a very good price for that extra work. Everything was done on schedule, and the work looks fantastic. During the process, Aaron found that my old fireplace was illegal under current regulations. Not a happy find for my pocketbook, but he walked me through it all, got me a $500 credit for the old one and took care of the disposal the same day. Guy named Sam came to my house for a chimney care estimate and air duct cleaning. Lied to me about…read moremy chimney having emergent issues and rushed me to pay him $3000 for repairs, and additional $1000 for air duct cleaning (an estimation based on the price of $69 per vent), and lied about me needing to pay $15,000 later if not having him repair it immediately. Multiple inspections show that my chimney only needs a cap, a deep wash, and a replacement of flashing. For air duct clean, he appears to know nothing about it and gave this ridiculous price of $1000. I regret paying $200 to have him vacuum from my air inlet for less than 5 minutes using a tiny machine. Dishonest and unprofessional.
