I WISH I COULD GIVE THEM 0 STARS!!!
I NEVER write reviews. BUT this experience was so offensive and horrible that I needed people to know what happened. (Also please note that I may not be quoting exactly as things were said, but this is the general gist of what happened):
It all started out fine. I was speaking to a nice female employee who was very helpful. I mentioned in passing to the other employee who looked like the boss/owner/optometrist that she was so great and helpful and he responded "Thats because she works here! Also, She isn't that great. Don't make her head big. When she makes a sale then we will talk. Did you buy anything yet? I don't see the sale yet." I thought this was strange but kept looking because I had been looking for glasses a long time and finally found a pair i liked. Throughout my time looking, he continuously made comments to her like "Did you make the sale yet? See your not as good as she says". Some time later, after texting my friends and asking if they like the frame I found and after the nice employee gave me contacts so i could see them on my face I told them that I wanted to purchase the glasses. I also told them I wanted to do an exam and get contacts and possibly put new frames in an old pair of sunglasses (all together a pretty expensive purchase! - you would think they would be nice to me!)
As the woman was having some trouble answering my questions about lenses, the gentleman returned and went through it with me. With an air of impatience in his voice, he spoke to me like I was a child and he sounded like he was trying to pull a fast one on me as he wanted me to purchase a new pair of sunglasses instead of putting new lenses into the ones I already have (he told me it was impossible to change the lenses which I know is not true).
Finally, THE BIG FINALLY! While i am looking at the glasses i want to purchase he is standing over me and continuously talking and so I asked if he minded giving me a minute to think. He very rudely said "i'll give you 5" and then kept talking at me aggressively until he unprovoked and mistakenly (because I wasnt!) said "I see your looking at model numbers. Trust me. Looking up those glasses wont help you answer any of your questions better than I did". I tried to say i wasn't looking at the model number and he kept cutting me off to say I was trying to scam him! He said "I know your type" so I said "sir that is extremely rude. All I want to do is purchase these glasses and you have been ruder and ruder to me with every breath. Further, you have been extremely rude to your employee as well! So he responded "You don't have to be here. The door is that way". So I left.
Needless to say, since I DID NOT look at the model number, I now have no pair of glasses. I will find them somewhere else so its fine but the audacity of this gentleman to stereotype me in such a way was truly horrific.
