The owner, Mario, is a great guy who's been slinging pies for over 43 years, and it shows in how he's mastered his craft. Everything about his pizza is incredible from the crust to the sauce to the fresh toppings to the crisp texture and amazing wood-fired mouth feel. The ambience is very nice to suit the great pizza--it's very nice to pull up to Mario's and watch the trains go by with all of the passengers getting on and off as you sip on a cold beer or a nice glass of wine over a perfect slice. The inside is fittingly warm and rustic for a pizza place, and the outdoor patio is a great spot for outdoor dining and people watching over the busiest part of Mt. Kisco. Even when Mario is taking a well-deserved break on the patio, his well-trained, skilled, and kind staff will be happy to hook you up. Thirdly, and probably the most problematic: GF ordered the kids penne vodka. I do appreciate that they allow you to remove things from the dish so I removed pancetta (I am vegetarian). I also ordered the brussels sprouts side. They have multiple cocktails I was interested in but being the basic bitch that I am, I ultimately went with the spicy italian margarita. I order the "spicy margarita" frequently and it usually isn't very spicy but this one was the exception. It definitely earned the title. Nothing crazy, but certainly something you would notice and it was very enjoyable. The pasta was very good. I was bummed out to see the mushrooms in there because that was not mentioned on the menu but fortunately I had a few mushroom vacuums sitting at the table. We've been to at least 30 weddings collectively and the food at ours was top two. We did a salad course, pasta, 5 varieties of pies, two wood fired veggie variations and the cast iron cookies. MPT also handled cocktail hour--arrancini, chicken tenders and chicken meat balls, plus charcuterie and crudite. Everything was so delicious and impressive, our guests still talk about it. We had an upscale backyard wedding, and the guys accommodated our request to do family style service. The execution was completely seamless and the presentation was even more intentional than we expected. The food was hot, delicious, perfectly timed and well portioned. I honestly do not have a single bad thing to say. We have been thinking of other events we can host just so we can use Mobile Pie Truck again. Frank was very easy to work with, communicative and professional. They accommodated requests for additional items like pastas and salads we were interested in that weren't on the menu. They helped curate our courses and offered suggestions on what would and wouldn't work for menu options at scale. They were friendly and clean and they had a really impressive setup. We found their pricing to be the most reasonable of all the vendors we looked into, and the execution was truly seamless. Wedding food even at the more dialed in venues can be so boring, forgettable and most of all expensive. Mobile Pie Truck was the antidote to all the typical wedding catering pitfalls and then some.
