We ordered a couple of pies for pick up and the pizza was okay at best and so overpriced. The pizza dough and sauce aren't very flavorful. We also got a mushroom pizza and they use canned mushrooms on their pizza rather than fresh ones. read more

Place is cute, and clean. Service was adequate... the food looked BEAUTIFUL! but...always a but.... had no flavor, the doughy was raw and not crispy at all. Work on the quality of your dough... then move on to your sauces... the style is fantastic but the flavor or lack of, serving raw dough, and food that was not hot even after just coming out of the oven destroyed your star rating. Traveling through Westchester County, NY. In the town of Mt. Kisco. Late night in a Sunday when most establishments are closed. The chalkboard had 3 specials on it and we each ordered one. Food was prepared to order, fresh and al dente. Friendly service and pleasant surroundings. It's literally right by the train station and the floor rattles as the train passes by. The experience added to the charm of the place. The display of the fired pizza made me wish I had room for one. Highly recommended this little gem.. all aboard. read more

This is one of the places in town that I frequent to satisfy the good old pizza itch. You get your standard NY pizza here with a paper thin crust and tasty sauce. The cheese is plentiful. If you like a great slice of pizza, Mario's is your go to place. Their selection of pies is extensive and the service is friendly. My favorites are the pasta slice which is pure decadence and the Buffalo chicken with its nice zing. The crust gets a bit dark during the reheat but I do like it crunchy. read more

Was absolutely disgusted to find a bug toasted into the slice of pizza, the hygiene of this pizzeria is terrible, I walked in for a late lunch to find flies flying everywhere, there were also flies all around the back part where they make the slices. My hunger stupidly disregarded this and I went forward with buying a slice and after coming back to work and having one bite I see that there is a insect baked into slice of pizza. I immediately spit up the one bite I took and closed the box. Pizza tasty. Guy tried to rip us off- charged us $97 for two pies, 3 slices, and two beers. After arguing to see the bill breakdown he refused and spent 15 minutes going over the bill with his coworker (it's actually not hard math- just addition). Anyway charged us $8 a beer and the "new" total was $75. Insane and never even told us why we were initially charged $97. Not friendly and bad ambience. I wish I could love Mario's because I do think they make great tasting and unique pizza options however the hygiene is so abysmal that I can't overlook it and will no longer revisit and have warned family and friends about it. On two occasions I have come here and witnessed no glove use. Two different gentlemen who were helping me, took my money and then proceeded to touch my pizza. I was hungry and timid to say anything but that's unacceptable. I work at a bank, money is the most disgusting thing you can touch. On average it carries around 43 strains of bacteria on it, and you're touching money then wiping your apron and touching peoples' food?!? NO! You guys need to abide by proper sanitary laws and use disposable gloves for each customer and not handle money with the gloves. It's very disturbing that you take no caution to people's health, and for that, you get 1 star. read more

Stopped in as we had a local job in the area and instantly loved the classic cooking style of the pizza in a brick oven nice cozy place with a great selection of food to order. Place an order on 2 special slices chicken / bacon and a pasta slice which were delicious and warmed just right. My buddie also enjoyed his food. We arrived a bit earlier from lunch time so the place was quick to serve. Over all looks like a clean place and the seating area was great. I see other customers have already left negative reviews for the same reason I am. I went in to pick up an order this evening and not a single employee was properly wearing a mask. Each had it down below their nose or not on at all. They didn't pull it up to interact with me to run my payment either. It's just extremely irresponsible considering the severity of the virus, especially right now with the new strains and double masking being recommended. I'm giving Mario's one star because they don't follow proper guidelines while doing business! They are not wearing masks or gloves!!! Every other pizza restaurant is following the guidelines. Solid pizza joint that is literally less than a 5 minute walk from my new place. I love how it's near the train station, so I can grab a slice before or after a train ride to/from GCT. The pizza is heated up in seconds since they use a very hot wood-fired oven. The pizza crust is a bit doughy, but still crispy. The place itself is small, so I don't mind taking out. They have seats outside but it is too cold now. This is my new go to pizza spot in my new hometown of Mount Kisco. read more

Pizza was burnt. Cheese so overdone you could not even tell it was cheese. A 12 year old boy ran into get two slices to go. I guess they thought he would never no how bad the pizza was until he got home. I assume they never expected him to turn around and come back to return it. Awful pizza and awful business practices that they would take advantage of a child. Mario said their pizza was not burnt. They however replaced the two slices with much more acceptable looking pieces. Unfortunately my son said it tasted funny. I was not going back again. Bad pizza bad experience . read more

My wife and I used to love the pizza here. I would order 6 slices for myself every time. We stopped by yesterday, the restaurant wasn't as clean looking as it used to be, I ordered 2 slices, my wife had one. We ate left and as soon as we left the restaurant we both agreed, it was horrible pizza. The sauce was eh, the crust was flavorless, and not fully cooked. Maybe I'm a pizza snob, but I don't see it. And trust me, I REALLY wanted to. And while I agree, the people are great and the brick oven is nice- the sauce and the crust leave me underwhelmed. Even the toppings/ingredients are nothing special. Not so fresh it will blow your mind or inventive by any stretch. So, now I'm sure the next question will be, what pizza place do you like? Well, in Upper Westchester, that's hard. In lower, I'd say Polpettina in Eastchester. And The Cookery in Dobb's Ferry (which isn't really a pizza joint, but they have great everything- pies included). After that, I'd say Isabella's in Tarrytown. But as for Upper Westchester, the Belizzi from Belizzi's, is actually surprisingly good. Sure, the "place" is a playground, arcade nightmare- and the other pies are a significant drop off, but you only need one- and this one is solid. read more

While many places were packed with their Friday evening crowds, I couldn't believe this place was empty but something told me to give it a try. The owner Mario was very personable and appreciative of our business which goes a long way but you probably want to hear about the food (which was excellent). My girlfriend and I shared a personal margarita pizza and a sausage & peppers wedge, both of which were made fresh. In conclusion, I'm looking forward to going back for a real dinner! read more

Just had lunch at the Old Town Tea House Asian cuisine. Left there still hungry, as the portion was very small. Took a walk and spotted Mario's Pizza. As my friend and I walked in we were amazed at the beautifully displayed selection of pizzas. We just had to try the pizza. I had the meatball slice, it was amazing. My friend had the margarita slice, absolutely loved it, and ordered another one!! Let me first give a caveat, you really need to know what to get: start with the Margherita and Prosciutto pies, and branch out from there. Mario's is so good sometimes, it's astounding. Pizza is terrific I had a clam slice and a pepperoni as well this place is great you would never expect it from it being right near the mt kisco train station.
