This is almost like a hidden gem. It doesn't look like much on the outside, but you can tell something's popular when the parking lot is full! We were here on Saturday during lunchtime and it was bustling inside, long queue but moving fast. There are a lot of baked goods to choose from savory and sweet. What's not on display is marked on the menu above the kitchen area. There was so much to choose from and it was our first time here so I decided to get a coconut cake and a fried ball stuffed with chicken and cream cheese. The coconut slice was huge and cheap, $2.75. It was so sweet but so good and moist with a hint of condensed milk. The fried ball was warm and had flaky chicken like tuna in a can but tasted delicious and was not greasy as one would expect. The church bake sale has better coffee. It was awful and Luke warm. The baked goods we got were dry and inedible. I should have left after seeing mummified dead flies on the window sill and the floor looked like it was tradition to throw all trash on it. I asked the girl behind the counter about the orange cake and she didn't understand just said "ya ya"...it was old n dry and the pigeons downtown would pass up the free flavorless sawdust duralog treat. This Brazilian Bakery/Eatery is one of my favorite places to get a little afternoon snack. They offer a variety of Brazilian treats, snacks, beverages, breads, cakes, desserts etc. My go to is Pão de Queijo or cheese bread balls, Coxinha with Catupiry or chicken croquette filled with Brazilian cream cheese, and I love to down it with Guaraná, a very popular Brazilian soda. To me this a perfect and filling snack combo and brings me back to my trip to Brazil :). They also have açaí bowls which I want to try and serveral fruit juice smoothies like acerola or Brazilian cherry, graviola or Brazilian soursop, both very interesting and delicious when mixed blended with milk! You'll find this place packed with the local Brazilians but don't be afraid to come by and check it out, most of the girls counter can help you, in case you are totally lost! I was starving and cranky and needed something, anything to eat. I'm driving down Shrewsbury St. when I see a sign for "BREAD". Good enough! I pull into the almost full parking lot and with toddler in tow, run from the downpour into a warm room. The place is small but it is brimming with baked goods. I'd never ventured into a Brazilian bakery before but thankfully there were pictures so I could just grunt and point. The counter lady was very patient with me while I decided on a beef pastel, a sweet roll, and a small coffee. A full belly for $4.30 thank you very much! The pastel was heaven. I am not a sweets in the morning type of gal. If I can get meat -- I'll take it. The pastel was an incredible hot and puffy fried dough filled with ground meat, onions, and scallions. With accompanying hot sauce it was the tastiest morsel I've ever had for snack. The coffee was perfect - hot, smooth and just enough sugar. My son devoured his sweet roll. It was a great egg bread (guessing by the bright yellow color) and topped with a light glaze and shredded coconut. Looking around at the breads, cakes, and beverages I know that I have a safe haven to come back to the next time I leave the house sans breakfast. read more

If you go here, pay cash to avoid being guilted into tipping. Alright, the food here is good but the service portion is getting a bit annoying. I never cared that one time I came in and had one of the girls literally texting while taking my order. I never cared that you have to actually wait for the employees to finish their gossip before placing your order. It's a laid back place, I get it. No big deal. I just go in, order my food and leave or eat there. It doesn't bother me. Now, what does bother me is the new system they got. I am a server. I get paid about $3/hr to set a table, greet customers, sit them, give them menus, come back when their ready, take their order, bring it back when it's done, bring the bill, and clean the table after they leave. THAT is why I get tips. And a good one is 20% With this new system they have here, after you swipe your card, they literally turn the computer towards you and you can look at an option of tipping them 12%, 16% or 20%. What IN THE WORLD makes you think you earned a tip, let alone a 20% one??? You get paid regular hourly wage (I know this for a fact) and you do almost nothing expect take my order and put it in a bag or basket. The kitchen does all the real work. Between that and the shit customer service, you're forcing me to choose a tip percentage now? Like, right in my face? Tips are supposed to be a line at the end of your bill that you can fill if you want to or not. It is NOT something you're entitled to. Especially at Miranda bread. Leave a tip jar, whatever. Thats fine. Don't make people feel guilty for having to choose "no tip". Turning the screen towards me while standing right there. You might as well just stick your hand out and say "and what would you like to leave for a tip today?" Now I have to say no tip in front of this girl and she thinks that I didn't tip because she did a bad job or I'm just cheap. It's not ALWAYS the case, most times you just didn't do anything to EARN a tip. Don't get me wrong, I live off of tips so I know how important they are and I always favor tipping. Except here, you have bad service, you get regular hourly wages, AND you don't do much more than a cashier at Price chopper. You don't see them asking for tips. I'm used to the location in Marlboro but I moved to Worcester and I've had too many bad experiences here not to write a review. Employees are more interested in the gossip between themselves than to take your order, the food here isn't fresh like it is in Marlboro, the employees drink the juice out of the machine all day long , every time I come over they're there drink log juice from the machine , not sure how the owner don't notice this on his inventory. Ahh! Brazilian food!! This is the place for that! From X-Tudo (Everything Burger) to ham, egg & cheese sandwiches to fresh baked bread. I usually do come here for the handheld snacks though because they are affordable and filling. The cozinha (chicken croquet) to the very famous pão de queijo (cheese balls). Everything is most of the time fresh and still very warm. Cakes are delicious but the fact that they have so many types is hard to comment on everything. Their baked breads are very good and never stale or old. The reason for the 4 star instead of the 5 is usually because although they work and get your order in fast, you'll probably have to wait in line. What's worse is the parking lot. Quite a nightmare! The parking lot is usually full and to get a spot is a fight of chicken. Other than that this place is worth coming to and giving a try. read more

In the summer we are on the CAPE and go to GOL in Hyannis/West Yarmouth...and get them constantly, but I didn't know where to go here. They are great. I also love the fresh rolls!!!! 4 for $1.00 as I write this. I only wish I could find a full brazillian market here with marinated steaks, marinated chicken breasts and hand made sausages of all different types like I get at GOL. In the summer we grill their stuff all the time out on the cape. So cheap compared to other Capish ripoffs. I so wish I could find that around here. I was very excited to find a new bakery, but Miranda bread was disappointing. I was put in charge of bringing good bread to a beef stew potluck, and decided on Miranda based on good yelp reviews. So, I feel inclined to throw in a different opinion. Miranda's definitely does not have very diverse options. I was hoping for a hearty, savory bread, but they don't have any wheat breads or breads that would make for good sandwiches, etc. In fact, the woman said "All of our breads our sweet." Well, fine, I was pretty disappointed but decided to give them a shot. We got 6 little individual French loaves, which were decent, but definitely nothing to write home about. Then we also got the coconut bread loaf and the Italian bread loaf ("It's Italian bread, but it's sweet".... okay, so this means it's not italian bread). The coconut and Italian loaves were really plain, white breads with nondescript sugar glazes. Super disappointing. Anyway I realize this is a Brazilian bakery and maybe it's just a matter of cultural tastes, but if you're looking for a range of bread options or something outside of the "white glazed sweet bread" category, then check out elsewhere... read more

I just swung in to buy some Italian bread as it is called "Miranda Bread company" got it home and it did not taste like Italian bread at all! (which is too bad because it did not really complement the meal I had made). The bread was OK but not great. lots of other items to buy but surprisingly not many breads! The strawberry and whipped cream cake is delicious. The cake itself is soaked in some kind of condensed milk mixture, and the filling is whipped cream mixed with strawberries. Yum. I also like the slightly sweet breads topped with coconut and moistened on the bottom with some kind of sweetened milk, although these tend to get dry during the day so I only recommend getting them when the case is pretty full. read more

Awful staff ! Awful food ! I use to come here for a long time now but I'm never going back again. The staff can't even speak English,first of all or pretend they don't understand. My gf tried to explain that they messed up her coffee and all they said was "no" Also,they talk about customers A LOT!
