It is an ideal…read morespot to sit and eat your take away meal as long as the thought of throngs of water fowl marching towards you like the walking dead doesn't intimidate you. Here is a tip: We sat by the gazebo one lovely morning as all ducks and geese came towards us. We did not feed them, but soon after a gentleman that seems to be a regular (there always seem to be friendly regulars feeding the ducks) came to a nearby bench and begin tossing them some bread. We swiftly moved to the other side of the pond and enjoyed our breakfast unmolested as the gentleman feed and occupied all the ducks and geese across the pond. Of course we had a couple of stragglers that didn't go along with the crowd, but much less than the gang of 100 or so on the other side. Not a place to seek out since it is on the smallish side, but if you are in the area and looking for a peaceful spot it will do perfectly.

Definitely not the cleanest pond as there are times where there is trash in the pond itself. I work…read morenearby so sometimes I'll stop there on a lunch break to read a book. The birds and ducks are always cute so that is one plus. There is supposed to be a walking trail, but I tried walking it a couple of times to find it quite short and not much of a trail. There is a playground as well, but I have no experience with that part of the pond. And if you sit at the benches near the parking lot, chances you'll catch second hand cigarette smoke from the old guys who sit in their cars all day most days.

The huge parking lot makes arrival stress-free, and while the pool is under construction, there's still plenty to enjoy. Let's talk dog policy--yes, they allow dogs, but only if your furbaby is running. So if you've got a chill pup who prefers a stroll, maybe toss on a wig and blend in with the sprinters This park is clean, upgraded, and full of surprises. The trail area is perfect for a peaceful walk or jog, and the amenities? Stacked: - Volleyball court - Handball court - Basketball court - Pickleball court - Baseball field (not court--gotcha!) - Skating rink for winter vibes - Seasonal carnival festivities Whether you're here for a workout, a walk, or just to vibe with nature, this park delivers. And when the carnival rolls in? It's a whole new level of fun. Boomsauce Scale: B - basura (trash) BS - basic (come on! Try harder) BS + - better (Yo! That's better) BS ++ - best (alright! Alright! Alrightttt!) BS +++ - Amazing location! now that's boomsauce! Trust me--I am vegan.

Now I'm wondering why I traveled 5 hours out of New York to pay for an underwhelming experience compares to Old Westbury which is less than an hour away with more to see at half the price. My friends and I found ourselves at Old Westbury Gardens as a spontaneous destination. With fading daylight and the impending realization that we were not gonna make the cut-off time for pick your own berries, we decided to find an attraction nearby that was affordable yet worthwhile. And Westbury Gardens is just that. For $18pp, you have access to the gardens, the mansion, and the surrounding areas that feature hidden statues, gazebos, and pools. There is more than enough to walk through and you can spend 2+ hours here. My friends and I came end of August and were able to enjoy the flowers in the garden and walk around with the perfect weather. My favorite part of the place was the "temple of love" that is a little further off the beaten path. If you're bored and looking for something to do, Westbury Gardens is a great destination. An easy way to be in the shoes of 20th century American aristocracy and feel rich (or poor!) for a day.
