Asked the business to install an EV charging outlet and the company install 50 AMPs breaker without doing the correct math for the load. I reached out to the owner thinking that there is an issue with the install as it led to overloading the main breaker which is maintained by the HOA. The owner stopped by and claimed that the installation is correct. The problem is not with the installation as it's with the load and the breaker used. Texted him multiple times, he stopped replying to my text and I haven't heard back from him. HOA hired 3 other licensed electricians to diagnose the main breaker issue and all of them agreed that the load is above 100 with the 50 AMPs installed breaker and reported that back to HOA and now HOA is asking me to fix this and install a breaker with lower AMP. In the process of getting A/C installed in our house, we were told by multiple HVAC guys that we needed to upgrade our electrical panel to 200A. I got quotes from multiple electrical companies with a mixture of some of them including PSE connect/disconnect charges and permits. Volta's quote seemed reasonable and it included getting permits and PSE charges, plus I had heard a good word about them. I decided to stick with them and called them to schedule. Sergei mentioned that it might take 2-3 weeks to get permits and they could start the work then. On the scheduled date, Sergei and another associate of his arrived before time and started work promptly. They finished almost all of the job before the end of the day. Sergei also managed to talk to the city inspector to come a little later to inspect things since he arrived early. Work was completed satisfactorily and Sergei waited late in the evening until PSE came back to connect the power supply again. Sergei even managed to find our main water shut off valve since it was hidden behind some shelves. A couple of drywall holes for the ground wire connection were patched up with plates. The next day a couple of other associates came in on time to finish the remaining work of labeling and testing. Contacted them a few minutes ago. Sent pics of blown breaker and the new on I bought at H.D.(see attached) Will send a tech to change out the breaker. Their basic service cost is reasonable. Would definitely use them again for any electrical problems. I've added pics of the blown 20 amp breaker and the new circuit breaker I bought at H.D. The picture on the right is the breaker bought at H.D. and it wouldn't work. 2:50 PM. Tech just finished the job. Couldn't be more pleased with the service. He found an outlet for the refrigerator was the problem. It looks like it had been fried. That is why I was using an extension cord to plug the refer into a working outlet. So, I read reviews of this company and was actually very hopeful! I've worked with quite a few contractors and guarantee that I'm not a Karen. I requested a quote from Volta and scheduled a visit and estimate. Sergio responded and came out a day or two later. He looked at my job and mentioned a few alternatives. My issue is that from that point on, I feel ghosted. I called, texted, called again etc. talked to him once and he said "no,I think we did send you an estimate." From then on, my calls went to voicemail. If he didn't want my business I would have asked for someone who he would have recommended. Anyway, his delay on a minor job (dedicated (120 volt dedicated circuit for an infrared sauna), cost me a couple weeks! Hired Sergui and his Team from Volta Electrical for two projects. The first was a whole house recessed lighting project. Upon first meeting, we were greeted by Sergui who was super friendly and helpful. He had a great eye for design as well as described the project and the process thoroughly. After initial meeting it was very tough to get a formal quote sent to us. Eventually we got it, but now he said it was $200 more. We just agreed and the project went smooth. The recessed lighting looked great and we were very happy. The only thing we didn't like was that they were very messy after install. There were wire insulation shavings and loose screws everywhere on the ground. It was a little annoying, but we just cleaned it up ourselves. Our second project we hired Sergui and his Team again for some under cabinet kitchen lighting. We discussed pricing and asked for a quote. Sergui gave us a price verbally and we thought we were all set. We still asked for a formal quote like last time and he agreed. We never received a quote though which we asked for for a few more times. The next thing we heard was that he was available for installation which we setup. They showed up and installed the cabinet lighting, which looked great! The problem was when we were billed, it was a lot higher than we discussed, which was exactly why we asked for the quote many times. We tried to clarify with Sergui and asked why it was so much higher and he became defensive and said he never told us that price. My Wife confirmed that he did and we explained we would have never agreed on the work if it were higher than we discussed. We even wrote it down in our own notes. We asked if we could meet somewhere in the middle. After a very aggressive conversation on his side he said he would adjust the invoice to our original discussed price, in which we paid. He said he would wave the credit card fee so he wouldn't have to meet us in person. He threw in our face that he helped change some light bulbs for us for free and prioritized our work. We thanked him for that, but we asked him to do those things in which he agreed to do. Otherwise, we would have either paid him, found someone else to do it, or did it ourselves. He then apologized for the mix up. Like the first project , they left a mess with insulation wire shavings all over our new floor. We thought we were good, but later had issues with our under cabinet kitchen lights not coming on. We reached back out to Sergui to let him know the lights were having issues and asked for his help. However, we have never heard back. I didn't expect him to honestly, as he seemed very angry about the misunderstanding and pretty much wanted nothing to do with us. But I thought maybe he could be a professional and at least stand by his work. We ended up getting another electrician to fix the issue. I can say that the initial meeting is warm and friendly and the work is good. However, communication afterwards makes you feel like you are ghosted and I would highly recommend you get a formal quote before any work is done. It is disappointing that Sergui is not returning our calls or communication after the misunderstanding. Hire them at your own risk. Just be aware of the above and definitely don't get in a disagreement or expect good communication. Work is good. Professionalism, communication, and customer service is poor. Update: in response to Sergui. We agree you did give us two options: 1) For line in 2) For low voltage. However, I would like to correct you as we did not elect to pay for option 1 price for option 2 work. We agreed to pay for the actual work you told us. We have audio and video recording of the whole conversation through our Ring cameras. We are hoping we don't have to go to the next step and link it to this review. We do not appreciate you giving false information in response of still rectifying that you were in the right and framing us that we were the one's confused. Secondly, you have our contact info. If you truly wanted to correct the issue, you would be the one to reach out to the customer. Not have the customer chase you. This has been consistent in other reviews as well. We have already moved on and corrected the work with a more reliable option. Let this be a lesson in customer service for you for the future. read more

I hired Volta to do a complete rewire and code upgrade of the home I purchased. Standard old-house upgrades - removal of K&T, smoke detector installations, plus a few additional receptacles throughout the house. I felt I was very clear about the scope of work - I wanted the entire house to meet 2022 electrical code. Apparently, I did not make that clear enough. The work did not pass city inspection. They performed an entire circuit breaker replacement/upgrade. The inspector believed (and I agreed) that that meant that code responsibility for the entire house was the responsibility of the electrician. He checked with three colleagues, one of whom teaches classes on the electrical code to electricians in training. All confirmed that that was the case. Serghei was shocked, and instead of fixing the issues flagged, chose to argue with the city inspector. "This has never happened before," he said. The inspector came out a second time, flagged the same issues, and I got to listen to the inspector and my electrician have an argument right in front of me about electrical codes. The inspector took pity on me and passed the inspection despite Serghei not having implemented every fix - instead allowing multiple rooms to remain untouched, as Serghei believed that I wanted (at that point, I did, as I didn't want the costs to balloon further, nor did I particularly want them doing additional work on the house.) It's clear that Serghei had no experience doing business specifically in the city of SeaTac. Unfortunately, it's his job to know the electrical codes in the cities where he operates. The inspector signed the permit and instructed Serghei to foam-caulk around new holes they drilled in the basement. Serghei left, saying that he didn't have it handy. Haven't seen him since. Bonus: They drilled a hole in my brand-new hardwood floor without asking. I had specifically clarified the timeline regarding our flooring installation and had told him that if it'd be helpful to delay the flooring contractor, I would. I had a couple of other questions ( not related to the specific job) that he addressed and came back the next day to install for me! He went way over and above my expectation Also, Jodie in the office was so nice and always made sure i knew when someone was coming. Plus, they had a cancellation and she got the estimator out several weeks earlier than scheduled! And she also scheduled the inspection for me! One last note : I didn't realize my estimator was the owner untill Victor told me on instalation day. I was looking for a responsive electrician through Yelp - Volta was one of the "additional recommendations". In short, he was the only one that (a) got back to me, (b) was willing to give me the information I needed (like call-out fees and estimates) over email, and (c) was responsive enough to be able to handle a next-day appointment. When he arrived, he did not disappoint. I had a dead circuit. Viktor scratched his head, then went to work methodically tracing the circuit all the way back to the panel, before finding the issue. He then corrected the issue and backtracked to ensure there were no other problems. Then he went back and showed me where he found the problem and what he did to fix it. The thoroughness impressed me and I'm sure we found the source of the problem. COVID being what it is, Viktor arrived pre-masked and with booties on to not scuff my floors. He diligently removed the booties on entering and exiting the house. I have cats, and he took note to close the outside doors each time. He was also diligent about social distancing. In terms of cost, the payment was done via an emailed invoice that arrived before he left. You can pay directly through the system, including through Apple Pay. All the pricing was provided before he started work, so no surprises. Volta Electrical is definitely on my short list for electrical work in the future. I strongly recommend Volta Electrical. They just installed my new hot tub. I had a great experience with this company. I contacted several companies with good Yelp reviews for bids. Not all of them got back to me quickly, or at all, even after calling multiple times. Volta got right back to me and when I asked them to expedite the bid process, they were able to accommodate me. They were able to get me an informal bid within 48hrs which was crazy fast. The formal bid took a week which was still way faster than most other companies. Once I accepted the bid they scheduled and completed the job quickly. The price for the job was incredibly reasonable. I got several bids, and their bid was on the low end of the spectrum. The final invoice matched their bid. Great communication from start to finish on my job. No surprises, everything went as planned. The day of the job they showed up with a crew of three people!! Two installers and one person to look over the job and make sure everything was perfect. The install was super clean, very professional. They were all vaccinated and wore masks. I didn't ask them to do this, they just did it. Save yourself the trouble of getting a bunch of bids. Just use Volta and you'll be fine. 5 out of 5 stars. Highly recommended. I just did a second job with Volta. Review for the second job below... I had them replace my fuse panel. Once again, great service at a very good price. I still can't believe how responsive they were. I sent them an email on the weekend, and they got back to me by Monday. I had a bid within days. My friends in the trade all confirmed Volta's bid was very good so this time I didn't go through all the work of getting a bunch of different bids. I already know their bid will be super completive and you can't beat their service for the price. Once I approved the bid Volta was back out to do the job within a week. I recently moved in new place and there were some electrical problems I found, I am always afraid to have professionals to do an inspection cause they usually take advantage of the lack of knowledge, scare me with million problems and terminology and after that charge me triple price. I had a power issue and they did inspection and found out that's an issue from the city. The work itself is good. However, the price should be transparent. In the quote, they said the price is $200 for the 1st hour. The inspection was done in about 50 min and my property manager told me they insist to charge $250 because the inspection was very complicate. It is OK for me to pay more for complicate work. But they should inform the customers about that in advance. using a low price to get more customers and raise the price thereafter, that's not good. read more

I highly recommend Volta Electrical, great experience all around! I sent a message outlining my projects and received an email back asking if they could do a walk-thru to provide an estimate. Sounds good to me. The automated system they used, emailed my confirmed appointment and showed a little picture of who was coming: Victor. I REALLY like this feature, as I recognized him before opening my front door. Yes Victor had on his Volta shirt, but I enjoyed the added security, if you will. Showed up early, mask on, and booties. We walked through my house, discussing my needs in details (remove a chandelier and install a ceiling fan, remove a second chandelier and install a can light, remove a can light from the staircase and install a pendant light fixture, small installation repair above microwave). Victor explained how the can light on my staircase is 6inches wide but my pendant light base is smaller, therefore a drywall guy would be needed to fill the gap. Also discussed the option of replacing/updating all the can lights to LED without the current gap between the can and the bulb. This could not have been done via email so I'm thankful for the in-person estimate. Victor went out to his truck and I had the estimate within minutes. The estimate looked good, I signed/accepted it through the automated system. Victor was scheduled for the following week. He showed up on time, ready to go. He even showed up with a solution for my staircase, to avoid having the drywall guy needed. I loved the solution and it matched my ceiling perfectly. Victor was at my house for the entire day, cleaned up any messes made, took the trash of my new items that he assembled during installation, made sure everything was in working order before he left. I wrote a check for the exact amount that I was quoted. Victor was very professional, didn't mind my dog and was very informative throughout the day, always asking how I wanted things. We needed an electrical contractor for a big job done - installing a subpanel in our house which is 50 year old, and then having a line from that panel extending all the way down the length of the house to the exterior (about 80 feet) for a hot tub, through the ceiling.
