Quick take: elevated dining experience Service, ambiance, presentation, and flavors were all 5 stars. Great view of downtown. Highlight recommend this restaurant if you have the time to sit and enjoy a great dinner. We had 2 birthday girls and they both received a dessert.

Finally returned here 3 years later for lunch so updating my review! Views are excellent obviously and so is the service. Favorite dishes were the sizzling mushroom rice, shishito peppers, and rainbow roll, but loved everything! Great spot for upscale sushi.

It's all about the views! Miru is one of the newer sushi restaurants relatively uncompetitive sushi scene in Chicago, and it hits the spots for those interested in classy ambience and jaw dropping views. The sushi is phenomenal, as were our drinks... but the other entrees are disappointing. The karaage and duck yakisoba in particular in quality could be from any corner restaurant in Chicago. The service lends itself more casual, and I noticed they were consistently quite slow to clear our table. I don't think people come here for the food as much as the views. Overlooking Streeterville from this angle and vantage was truly jaw dropping and for this reason I still strongly recommend Miru.

Had an awesome time at Miru. We had a private room for my friend's birthday and Matthew S. took care of us. He was very helpful with the menu, timely, and had a great personality which made for a fun experience. There were 7 of us and we have the 36 piece sushi of the Chefs selection, we ordered the mushroom fried rice, shrimp fried rice, hamachi and lemon, and octopus... one thing was better than the next. It was more than enough food. We all had about 2 drinks as well and we all were pleasantly surprised by the bill. Super fresh and tasty seafood. We will all definitely be back!

We really liked the location and the views. We were lucky to get a table overlooking Navy Pier, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The fish was exceptionally fresh, the sushi rolls were delicious, and the service was friendly and attentive. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and celebrated a very enjoyable birthday here. Just don't expect a large, filling meal - this is more of a place to meet with friends, enjoy good conversation, and have a light bite.

Ive been here more times than I can count and its easily one of my favorite sushi spots in the city I was just there last Friday with a friend and once again everything was perfect from the attentive seamless service to how beautifully each dish was presented Every bite was delicious I also love the modern design of the restaurant and the incredible views of Chicago it really adds to the whole experience The space has an intimate relaxed vibe that keeps me coming back Definitely one of those places I will be visiting again very soon

Totally unplanned after leaving Tre Dita we went up further to Miru and a drink at the bar. Service great and fun drinks; I had the Golden Hour and Julia had the mushroom sake. On the way to the bathroom we stumbled upon this empty patio with incredible views.

I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience at Miru. We were visiting Chicago for a short trip, and with so many excellent dining options, choosing where to eat wasn't easy. I almost decided to save Miru for our next visit, but I'm glad I made time for breakfast here on our departure day. Located inside the St. Regis Chicago, the restaurant offers beautiful views. The service was excellent--attentive, friendly, and professional. I ordered the Tokyo Breakfast. The salmon was perfectly cooked and paired beautifully with rice, a soft-poached egg, and salmon roe. The miso soup was slightly salty on its own, but it worked surprisingly well when enjoyed with the rice toward the end of the meal. Overall, a memorable breakfast experience. I'd love to return and try the lunch or dinner menu on my next trip to Chicago.

Miru has a gorgeous view. It is located at the top of the The St. Regis Chicago, and the scenery alone makes it worth visiting. It is a great spot for tourists, especially if you are staying at the hotel. We walked in around 4pm on a Tuesday and had no wait at all. It was pretty empty at that time. The sunset views are stunning and it is such a beautiful place to take photos. That was definitely the highlight. As for the food, the sushi was just okay. The fish cuts were on the smaller side and the ingredients did not taste particularly high quality, so it felt a bit underwhelming. Service was fine. Nothing amazing, but not bad either. Overall, I would come back for the view and vibes, but not necessarily for the sushi itself.

Miru is located on the 11th floor inside of the St. Regis hotel in downtown Chicago. I went the Friday before Valentine's Day with my boyfriend to celebrate. We had reservations for 4:30pm, but they wanted to accommodate our request for a window seat so our table wouldn't be ready until 5pm, which was perfect. We each got a cocktail at the bar while we waited for our seat. We ordered the golden hour and the campari-san. The view is stunning and everything was so delicious. The dishes are small, so it's perfect for sharing a variety of different items. We ordered the edamame, broccolini, A5 wagyu nigiri, hamachi, chicken karaage, smoked pork belly skewer, wild mushroom sizzling rice, and duck yakisoba. The pork belly is so soft it literally melts in your mouth. I also loved the broccolini. For dessert, we got the black sesame mochi, and all the flavors and textures worked perfectly together. If you're looking for an elegant restaurant with beautiful views, friendly staff, and amazing modern Japanese food, I highly suggest Miru.

    Bluefin Tuna & Crispy Shiso

We went early, tough decision to sit in or out but we sat in right next to the window, stunning views of course. Great server, my cocktail was over top, like an elevated Pisco sour , so beautiful! Numerous delicious courses but the spring rolls were at the top! Or was it the eggplant... We would pass on the mushroom/rice dish next time because while it was good, there are numerous other very flavorful options

Came here for restaurant week with a group of friends. Parking through spothero is the way to go, but the lot is a little difficult to find. For the restaurant week menu, we got to make our own hand rolls which was probably my favorite part. The welcome sip was a nice fruity touch. The miso cod was a very small portion, not sure if the regular meal had a larger portion but the restaurant week portion was a small square. The steak was more filling and the dipping sauce went really well with the meat. The mushroom rice was a little watery and underwhelming for me. The yakisoba smelled really good but flavor wise was lacking. The dessert reminded me of a mango sticky rice, but rice pudding version. Food was decent but not super mind blowing. It was $60 for a 4 course meal which was a great deal, but not super filling. The atmosphere is really great for a fancy get together or date night. The St Regis is beautiful and the restaurant itself had lovely blueish green tiles. Bathrooms were clean and spacious.

Sadly I'd have to give this restaurant a 3 stars for its pancake and view only. My friend was racing about this place so much I was very excited to try but it was quiet a disappointment. First, the rice on the maki is hard and not exactly sushi rice. The fish isn't fresh and I didn't taste any sweetness or fattyness from the chu toro. The crispy rice was tasty but nothing special. We loved the pancake with its fluffiness and delicious yuzu flavor topping. Service was professional but not the best. The only great thing about this is the location and view.

She was phenomenal. She kept our water glasses full the entire meal, checked on us at all the right times without hovering, and helped us decide what to order when we couldn't make up our minds. Her recommendations were spot-on, and everything she suggested was delicious. She also handled the kitchen closing perfectly. Instead of making us feel rushed, she gave us a heads-up and helped us get our last few orders in so we didn't miss out on anything we wanted to try. That level of communication and hospitality is rare. The food was excellent, and the all-you-can-eat menu is absolutely worth it if you're coming with a friend. You get to try a wide variety of meats and sides, making it a fun experience from beginning to end. I can't speak for every server here, but Denise represents what great hospitality should look like. She made us feel welcomed, appreciated, and well taken care of throughout the entire meal. Honestly, she has the professionalism and leadership qualities to be a manager. After the rough food experiences I've had elsewhere in Chicago, this restaurant completely restored my faith in the city's dining scene. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in town, and I'll happily spend my money here again.

You can do the all you can eat option or just ordering Al a carte. We decided it was more worth it for the all you can eat option. There's a ton of meats to choose from but my favorite was the toro beef and the ribeye steak. The cucumbers are also to die for, we got like 10 orders total. The quality of the meats were so good, you didn't feel so greasy and bloated afterwards. Our server was pretty nice and explained to us how the menu worked and the time limit that we had to order. He came around a few times to check in on how we were doing. It was pretty good. Inside felt a little cramped, I don't think there were huge amounts of space in the isles but it was fine since we were all sitting down. The best part of dessert is they have s'mores here! You never see that anywhere at any restaurant. I would highly recommend coming here.

I could hear the sizzling from the grill, smell the food cooking, and by that point I was more than ready to eat. Our server was really nice and gave us a bunch of recommendations. Everything sounded good, but I ended up going with the Pork Belly Yakisoba. This dish was packed with flavor. The noodles had that smoky, slightly charred taste, and they were coated in just enough sauce to make every bite rich. The sauce brought a nice balance of savory, a little sweetness, and plenty of umami that soaked into the noodles. The pork belly was easily the best part. It was incredibly tender and juicy, with just enough fat that it practically melted in your mouth. Every piece had those caramelized edges that added even more flavor. Then you get the crunch from the cabbage and bean sprouts, the freshness from the scallions, and the little nutty flavor from the sesame that tied everything together. Hahaha I'd definitely come back. This is one of those dishes that sticked with me long after I left.

I got the pork okonomiyaki lunch set and added a fried egg to it. I like that the table has a built in grill to keep it warm (I'm a slow eater, so this is extra beneficial for me). The bacon was quite salty, compounded by the okonomi sauce. Hoping the kombu vegetables would offset this, I mixed them into each bite to no avail. The pandan coconut mochi donut holes I chose were probably the highlight. They were crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside, and there was ample sauce for dipping. I think some people would find the service top notch here--constantly checking in on me and keeping water refilled. I guess that came with a cost: 3% service charge automatically applied, and the server proactively brought over a digital payment system, so the 18% tip I selected calculated off the total leading to what was essentially a tip of 23%.

It was pretty small portion size though. The salmon avocado maki was solid too. It was the most filling! You get 5 pieces :) The tuna crispy rice was just alright. The rice part was good, but there was a bit too much mayo in the tuna. The miso soup that came complimentary with it was good too! I like how generous they were with the seaweed.
