We really enjoyed our visit to Miru seafood for our anniversary dinner. The interior was modern, clean, and dimly lot - perfect for a date night and dinner event. The service was timely and our waitress gave us solid recommendations. For apps we ordered the lobster cone which was refreshing and crab cake which was crispy, savory, and mostly lump crab meat. For entrees I had the stuffed redfish which was pan seared well and topped with grill shrimp. We also ordered the red snapper which was spicy with a chorizo topping and grilled shrimp. For sides we ordered fried rice and glazed brussel sprouts.The dishes were generous and quality of the fish was excellent. I really liked the Asian fusion theme of most of the seafood dishes. We went for dinner last night, sat at the nice large bar, there were tables available, but we were feeling the bar. Natalie was our bar tender, super cool vibe and made great drinks! The food... we have been here a few times and have always been blown away, but this time was different. We started with the Tuna Chilly Chile; when it came out we were like, now this looks amazing!!! I just wish that the presentation tasted as good as it looked The flavors were not cohesive, they didn't flow. I couldn't taste the mango, was way too tomatoey, and it needed something. Next we had the crab cake, once again when it came out we were eyes wide open because it looked so dang good! Why was it not The best crab cake ever is from Pappas Seafood, so naturally we compare crab cakes to theirs. This crab cake though was bland, like no zing of flavor. We were disappointed Next we tried the Wagyu Gyoza, we had zero idea that it was going to be in a dumpling. Once again we struck out on all three dishes. You know the rule, three strikes and you're out! We did sign up for the rewards program because Miru does have some really good food, these three dishes are not them. Oh, and the gal with the super long hair that did have it pulled back who kept going behind the bar to make drinks because Natalie had a full bar to make drinks for, take orders from, and make your drinks for your one table that was in the restaurant section, be a better co-worker. I'm so glad my sister and brother-in-law brought us here for dinner. Everything was very good. I'd give it 4 1/2 stars if I could, but I'm going to land on four unless I surprise myself while writing this review. While everything was indeed very good, I can't say it was great. It was close. I'd eat here again and I definitely recommend. But on to the food and the service. We had a lot of different dishes so there's lots to say. Our server was young. While that may sound like a dig, it is not. He was super friendly and attentive. We started with some pretty awesome appetizers. The Shiitake Short Rib was falling-off-the-bone (and it is served on the bone) was perhaps the best bite of the night. There are a lot of appetizers to choose from. If you find yourself at Miru, order this. We also tried the Gulf Grouper - Flash Fried, Mango, Tomato, Basil. This was also a delicious bite. I ordered the Spanish Octopus, listed as an appetizer, for my meal. I'm a fan of octopus and order it whenever I see if on a menu. Though an appetizer, the octopus dish was a good size. The description clearly states it's made with peppercorn chile and I should have been prepared for it to have a kick. That said, it caught me off guard. It only took a few bites to adjust to the spice of the dish, after which I thoroughly enjoyed it. Other items ordered included Scottish Salmon with Ginger, Lemon, Lobster Butter, Shrimp, Blue Crab and Sautéed Asparagus... a lovely dinner. When the last couple arrived they ordered the Red Fish dinner, which included Lobster Brown Butter, Crab, Shrimp, Brussel Sprouts and Shallots. They shared the meal and enjoyed it very much. Mark ordered Fish & Chips - Miso Icelandic Cod, Yuzu Tarter and Fries. He definitely enjoyed his meal. I'm not surprised the overall rating for Miru Seafood is 4.5... hmmm. It's well deserved. Finally tried Miru seafood, after having tried Michiru (sister restaurant) several times before. Unlike the traditional sushi establishment, this is more Asian fusion with an upscale flare. We started with some wagyu gyozas and Black Garlic Snapper Carpaccio. The carpaccio was exceptional, the fish just melts in your mouth, that black garlic omg is to die for! The gyozas are filled with flavor, some of the best I've had so far. This appetizers are everything!! I'm eager to come back just to try some more! This place is a gem! The staff was great also. There were only a few tables taken, which was surprising given how nice the ambiance is. Collectively as a group we tried a little bit of everything so I'll just hit the highlights for each. Calamari - light batter, very tasty spicy dipping sauce The Big Scallop - lobster butter garlic soy deliciousness Rock shrimp - crispy and covered in sweet and spicy mayo Brussel sprouts - so addicting we ordered 3 orders, must get Shell baked scallops - spicy aioli and mushrooms mixed in Crab cake - good size chunks of crab, lobster butter Fish n chips - BEST thing on the menu we tried. I had no idea that this place was a Japanese-inspired restaurant until our server told us. I came here with some friends for a birthday dinner, and it's located in a stand-alone building. It's in a parking lot with plenty of parking. Inside the restaurant, it almost gives you an upscale vibe with the dim lights and how nice everything looks. Even the back-wall bar looks very elevated too. There is plenty of seating inside. What our table ordered: -calamari -rock shrimp -brussel sprouts -half shell baked scallops -seared scallops -Scottish salmon -rainbow trout -fish & chips The calamari and brussel sprouts were great appetizers. I loved how fresh the calamari was, and the furikake seasoning that it had. That made it really unique. It even came with a house-made sauce (very similar to spicy mayo, mixed with something else), that was really delicious. We originally had ordered only 1 order of the brussel sprouts, and then ended up adding 2 more extra orders of it for the table because of how much we enjoyed it. The seared scallops and half shell baked scallops were DELICIOUS. Highly highly highly recommend if you're a fan of scallops. The seared scallops had the most amazing flavor and texture. The half shell baked scallops was coated in a delicious sauce with mushrooms. I would get these dishes again. The fish and chips were actually one of our tables' favorites. The way the fish was battered was to perfection and the fish was full of flavor. I was hoping the salmon would be a bit jucier but after a few bites, it did feel a little dry to me. At least a little bit more dry than I would've liked. Overall, the flavor was good, but I would've preferred it to be a bit jucier. Our server was fantastic with refilling our waters, checking up on us, and giving us excellent recommendations. She was very knowledgeable about everything on the menu that we asked her about. Best seafood restaurant in League City! They have a great variety of fish with hints of Asian flavors. My favorite dish was the Alaskan halibut! 3.75 stars we tried MiRu Seafood tonight for my bday dinner. they have a dedicated gluten free menu which is always great! the vibe is dark and intimate and you'd never know it used to be a slim chickens. we had the grouper appetizer which was fried grouper with a mango tomato basil chutney. the dish was pretty bland but the fish was very tender. i had the redfish, which came with crab and brusselsprouts. the dish comes originally with brown butter sauce but that is not gluten free. i found the dish very bland and underwhelming- some seasoning or alternate sauce would have gone a long way in my opinion. but the fish was very high quality my husband had the seafood pot which was a coconut curry (not spicy) with mussels, shrimp and some vegetables. it is gluten free if you order it without the toast. his dish was very flavorful and delicious. we had mango mochi for dessert! service was great, so were cocktails! we would definitely come back but i would be sure to order something with a sauce for more flavor. read more

This is such a hidden gem. Delicious food, great service and intimate ambiance. We got the grilled oysters to start. Appetizers are small I will say that BUT the entre portions are not. I asked for a glass of cab but asked that it be served with my meal. I went with the Scottish Salmon and it came served on a cool looking platter that was on top of a wooden block. Before the salmon got to me, the bartender made it a point to check on me several times. The salmon itself was perfectly cooked and seasoned. It came with three pieces of shrimp topped with crab meat. The shrimp were a bit overcooked but edible. I decided not to say anything only because the butter sauce it came with was quite good. The wife and I also had the fish and chips and the seafood sampler, everything was cooked to perfection though both the wife and I thought the batter was a bit sweet but still a great plate of food. they also had a large array of condiments that was served with our dishes. the service was on point and we did not have to wait on anything. The place was packed so it was a little loud but still a awesome experience in fine dining. I'm giving this 5 stars since they just opened and are still working out the issues. My wife and I had dinner here yesterday, as I'd seen elsewhere that they had a soft opening a few days ago, and I have been looking forward to trying it. My impression is that the soft opening is still underway, as there were a lot of hugs going on between customers and staff. The decor and ambiance here is upscale, with low-key jazzy music in the background, plus a well laid out full bar and bartender. 5 stars. Food was less impressive, perhaps 3 stars. The Spanish octopus appetizer was interesting, but a bit chewier than necessary. Neat spicy sweet with a bit of Szechuan numbing pepper. The salmon and shrimp were flavorful, but overcooked. The clam chowder dish with rice noodles rice noodles had chewy clams mixed in which seemed out of a can, and the noodles became soggy over time. The Japanese old fashioned was fine, nothing special. The large cube of clear ice was a nice touch. We will return and try other things. This place has real potential, once they fine tune a bit. read more
